1. Choose your location
  • For shooting and shelter, choose a place where you have good protection against bullets. Beron stops bullets, but does not prevent the propagation of detonations; on the contrary, it amplifies or, at best, diffuses them. Conversely, wooden walls, partitions, ceilings and floors stop neither bullets nor explosives.

  • This place must have a possibility of exfiltration, of escape: a plan b (at least one). If events are against you, and the enemies are too numerous and victorious, the best strategy is to flee, to retreat. But this decision must be taken in good time, otherwise the probabilities of exfiltrating from your position diminish with the passage of time, as the enemy continues his advance and closes his circle.

  • If the chosen location has several entry/access points, consider laying mines to cover your rear or points where you have no direct visibility. But don't plant mines between doors or inside a building, as this could backfire and kill you. Your protection would turn against you. Avoid flat/anti-tank mines, which are too powerful and could cause too great a deflagration and affect you. Prefer S mines and cable / trip mines.

  • To aim and shoot through a door, window or opening: don't stand in the middle, but position yourself to the left or right > aim > and move step by step to the left or right to see your target appear. In this way, you miminize your exposure to enemy fire.
2. Weapons
  • After each use of a weapon, the situation is calm all around you: recharge your weapon magazines - always be ready!

  • Be careful when using machine guns inside houses and buildings, as you considerably increase the probabilities of shooting a grenad frap at an enemy and receiving the deflagration of the explosion, especially if it causes a chain reaction with other explosives such as TNT carried by the enemy, or mines placed by you. If you're using a submachine gun, aim for the head or feet.

  • Watch out for the corners of doors, walls and wall columns: if you're ready or against the elements, when you try to aim at the shoulder or through a scope, you'll perform an automatic displacement/rotation movement that exposes you. This may seem very practical when you're just starting out, but it's useless once you've mastered your actions. Remember to keep one or more steps away from these elements.

  • If the enemies are close by and don't come at you in a group, but one by one, the strategy of the corner of the wall / left/right side of window or door, save your rifle ammunition, use your pistol.

  • Are you starting to get surrounded, or do you need to rescue a team member? You have several options: throw a grenade, and even if you don't kill them all, they'll be frozen, paralyzed, giving you a lap of time to act. TNT + timer also works, but you can't throw it as far as a grenade.

  • The further away you kill your enemies, the better. It's up to you to decide how far you can go, depending on your long-range shooting skills.

  • On a rifle shot through the scope: use the visual impact of your first shot, without leaving your sight, to correct your shot (too high/low, too far right/left).

  • Keep an eye on your remaining ammunition, and don't be caught off-guard by a "click-click" sound: no more spare ammunition.
3. Snipers
  • Snipers are real robots, reacting with unreal, inhuman speed. But that's the way it is. They all use hand-operated rifles, and have to extract the cartridge case and return a round from the magazine to the chamber. It's during this action that you can kill them most easily: they can't shoot and they can't move. Snipers dressed all in black are the most dangerous because they are the fastest and most efficient. Even if their back is to you, they'll turn around in less than a second, aim and kill you. What's more, they use rifles with shortened trigger strokes.
A strategy known as the "goat" works very well. Synchronize with a teammate who is positioned at point A, but not right next to you. Even if this team member doesn't have the expertise or control to kill a sniper from a great distance, he shoots at the sniper to attract his attention. Meanwhile, you, positioned at point B, aim and fire. The sniper will have concentrated his attention and fire on the team member stands at point A. No sniper can aim at two different points at the same time, which is why it's important that you're not standing next to each other. This strategy also works with cannoniers, the machine guns on vehicles. Only the distance between you and your partner will be smaller, so that you both have a clear shot at the target.

  • As soon as you are more than 200 meters away, enemy snipers can no longer reach you, with the rare exception of certain snipers in certain maps.

  • Don't use ammunition or so-called "silent" weapons in Survival Mode, as they're of no use whatsoever, except as an extra ammo reserve if you run out, dry of ammo. The enemy is programmed to be attracted to you and your bases/command posts. If you lose a base/command post, the enemy will focus on you. At the first shot, the enemy has spotted you. In wave #1, they're not very reactive. In wave #7, they react much more quickly. The further you progress in the map, the more experienced, swift, reactive and dangerous the enemies become.
4. Vehicles
  • At each road entrance, place mines (cable mine + TNT after the mine and not before, as the vehicle retains inertia due to its speed of travel) or flat mines without TNT in the central wheel ruts. It is advisable to stop vehicles at entry points so that they don't add to the difficulties, as they won't be able to shoot at you. Be careful not to place explosives too close to the red line, otherwise, as soon as you neutralize the central gunner, the vehicle will explode. This also happens when explosives are placed outside the map.

  • To stop any type of vehicle: kill the driver.

  • To stop any vehicle with tires: kill the driver or puncture three of the four tires using your weapons (rifle, pistol, submachine gun). The vehicle will be immobilized and the gunner's hatch will be opened. As long as the vehicle is not physically immobilized (driver or tires), this hatch remains closed.

  • Watch out for tanks: Driver and gunner neutralized, the front machine gun will remain active until the tank explodes. Avoid showing up or moving into firing range.

  • On self-armored vehicles such as AB-41s, beware of the often-forgotten rear gunner, who is bound to kill you. To neutralize him, either from a distance with a rifle, or if you're standing around the immobilized vehicle, pass by the RIGHT side of the AB-41. His rear machine gun is decentralized on the left of the vehicle, and his angle on the right is smaller, so he won't be able to reach you.
5. Game with partners / teamers
  • This game is all about the sound environment. A good headset with a microphone is essential. Beware, sound from desktop or other speakers, or from those of a laptop, using a microphone on your head, or on a stand, or from a webcam will cause an echo effect circling around your teammates. In the best case, you'll be required to use your microphone in "on-demand" mode, holding down the dedicated 'V' key (in the default keyboard configuration) to speak, and releasing it when you stop.
Otherwise, you may be excluded from the map, or in the best case, your teammates will mute your profile, but they won't hear any sound from your microphone, so you won't be able to make yourself heard.

  • With practice, experience and a good headset, you'll be able to discern, recognize and position your enemies according to their number, type of soldiers, vehicles, direction, distance, etc.

  • Share the right information, make it clear, keep it as short as possible and make sure you're explicit and comprehensive. Whatever the action, keep calm, don't shout, only think of your team-mates' ears...

      - Example of what not to do: You want to signal the presence of a sniper. If you say:
      Sniper!
It's of no use. Every player knows that snipers are expected.

      - Example to follow: you need to specify their exact position. As in :
Sniper at Red House or Red House sniper.
      Sniper main tower.

      - Equally, if you've killed the announced target, announce the target's status again:
Sniper main tower down or Sniper main tower is dead.

This gives your team members real information that they can exploit. They know that this or that area is now sniper-proof. Or that it was the last sniper, as the map allows freer movement.
