ETCH 2024 (European Team Competition Histories)

ETCH might just be for you if you manage in Europe and would like in-depth club histories.

This file adds full continental competition histories to every European club which has competed in any official UEFA competition since 1955. Using Wikipedia and RSSSF for reference, I have added data for all the qualifying and final stages of every Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League season, plus the Super Cup, the Cup Winners' Cup, and the Inter-Toto Cup.

Over 1,000 clubs from every UEFA member have been covered in this update, which is designed to be as CORRECT, COMPLETE, and CONSISTENT as possible.

I hope you enjoy using this file as much as I enjoyed creating it. I would also like to thank Gaz (aka theRedOne7), without whose help the creation of this database would have taken much longer than it did.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q. How many changes have you made to the database?

A. Around 86,000 in total.

Q. Will this be compatible with other files?

A. This file will be compatible with my ITCH and ATCH updates. I am also confident that this file won't clash with any other files that DO NOT also edit club history data.

Q. I have started a new save game with this update and I cannot find continental competition histories for clubs in certain countries. Why?

A. When Football Manager creates a new save game, it will only load changes for clubs in the nation(s) that you have loaded. For example, if you load just the English leagues, FM will only load full continental histories for English clubs. It also means that you'll need to install custom leagues to see complete histories for clubs based in nations such as Cyprus and Lithuania, which don't have leagues in the original database. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about this.

Q. I've noticed a mistake or a discrepancy in your file. What should I do?

A. You can leave a comment below, and I'll try to respond to it as soon as I can. If I have made any errors, I will look to rectify them and bring out a new version in due course.
