Friedrich August Saxony Guide
By Brm and 1 collaborators
Don't you wish that there was a Civ that gives mines a boost in production? What about a Civ that can field cheap Cavalry and Infantry Units? Then Saxony is the Civ for you! Led by Friedrich August, Saxony is read for conquest. Saxony's Unique Ability, Ore Mountains, gives all mines +1 Production. This helps the Saxony war machine that allows 2 Unique Units, the Saxon Infantry, which is cheaper than the Rifleman and the Kurasserie, which replaces the Cavarly but doesn't require horses to build. With boosted mine production and cheap Unique Units, you are ready to expand, play, and conquer as Saxony.

The Saxon War Machine
To start out, I recommend to start on a map that contains mostly rough terrain. (Hills, Forests, etc..) This can help you start and use the Saxon War Machine, which I will explain below.

Saxony is a great Civ, in my opinion, to conquer your foes. The reason is that Saxony's Unique Ability, Ore Mountains, gives all Mines +1 Production, allowing Saxony to quickly build units and buildings in cities. This Ability doesnt seem like it is any good, but can help you out in the long run.

Saxony is a military based Civ. With 2 cheap Unique Units, the Saxony Infantry and the Kurasserie, Saxony can field large armies for less. With the ability to increase the production of mines, Saxony is a Civ to be feared.

Saxony's first Unique Unit, the Saxon Infantry, costs less than the Rifleman that it replaces. This gives Saxony an advantage in mid-late game. To be able to field cheap rifleman is a blessing for most players who desire Domination Victories.

Saxony's second Unique Unit, the Kurasserie, replaces the Cavarly Unit. You might be thinking that isn't good but the Kurasserie also doesnt require Horses to build! Another unique military advantage, to be able to field Cavarly without Horse requirements is another blessing that players are dying for.

The Saxon War Machine:

1. Settle near hills.
2. Research Mining right away
3. Improve Hills --> Mines +1 Production
4. Research other Military Techs to get Unique Units
5. Build a lot of Units (Both Infantry and Horse Units)
6. Dominate your foes!
