ANIMATION

Big update

Several months since the game was released and finally I was able to finalize the rework of the animations. I deleted and removed basic animations (matched_combat) which were far too poor in detail (example: a simple sword strike and a simple block with a shield) where we don't even have the impression that a matched combat is is produced.
For each class, I selected the best animations from pharaoh, but also from Troy, etc.
The fights are much more dynamic, cinematic and alive. no more robotic boredom where the units are asleep...

I also made sure not to break the gameplay by making sure to keep the animations which respect the positioning of the frontline (not having animations which take the units 10 meters further..)

And in other improvements etc, which took me whole days... Yes, passion is priceless my friends ^^

-Heart attacks have been corrected.
-Units can fight several on the same unit.
-Percentage chance to use matched combat instead of asynchronous attacks for melee combat has been maximized
-Percentage of minimum hitpoints required to start a matched fight have been set to a minimum

This mod will make your fights and battles absolutely epic, realistic.

I copy/pasted animations from this mod to Dynasties and it didn't seem to work for me. I'm sure it was completely unoptimized, but that was my experience anyways.

@Kacheegro And how do you do that? What is the mod called when it is installed in original Pharaoh folders? All files in the data folder look the same.

This mod technically works in dynasties. I havent compared its functionality to base game but fights do have 100% matched combat. There are noticeable animation inconsistencies, for example, a sword fighting a spear, the shield will visually clip into the ground. I would imagine this is from reused animations from shieldless units and I am unsure if it is also present in just TW pharaoh. Fights will last exponentially longer, in my tests of 4 units vs 4 units matches could last up to 25 minutes of consistent fighting, also dont expect infantry collisions to behave the same. If you are looking for the cinematic experience it still works until the mod author releases an official version. To install subscribe to the mod then place it in your dynasties data directory.

But I agree with you, animations are vital ^^
I am waiting for the campaign AI to be debugged by CA before launching a personal campaign

At the moment I'm working on a mod that brings back the golden age of each culture.
For the Greeks we have the return of the hoplites, etc.
