How to play workshops maps in CS2

Welcome to my guide!
Today, I'll be showing you how to play on workshop maps in CS2. In this guide, you'll discover how to add these maps to CS and where to find downloadable map resources.

Acquiring Your Map File

Before diving into the process to add maps in CS2, the first step is obtaining your map file. Unlike CSGO, which used .bst files, CS2 requires .vpk files.
If you haven't acquired your map file yet, you can sites such as :

• https://www.moddb.com/games/counter-strike-2/addons

However, always remember to prioritize your online safety when downloading files from the internet :).

Installing Your Workshop Map

After downloading the file, you'll need to navigate to your CS2 directory :



You will then head to : game -> csgo -> maps
(D:\steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\maps)

And simply drag and drop the .vpk file.



The final step before launching the game is to configure the launch option with the "-insecure" parameter :



This option allows you to enjoy non-Valve official maps. Keep in mind that it will temporarily disable competitive matchmaking. However, you can easily re-enable it by removing this option when you want to hop back into competitive play.

Starting Maps Within the Game

When you're in the game, the first step is to activate sv_cheats. To do this, open the console and enter 'sv_cheats 1'.



If you don't have the console enabled, follow these steps: Go to the Settings menu, select 'Enable developer console,' and choose 'Yes'.



You have the option to change the key in the settings. Navigate to Keyboard/Mouse -> UI Keys -> Toggle Console.



To initiate the map, enter the following command in the console: map [name of the map].

For example, if your file is named 'aim_botz.vpk,' you would enter 'map aim_botz' in the console.
