Major Factions Renamed

Description
I didn't like how major factions were named after their leaders (e.g. Ramesses leads the faction of "Ramesses") while all the minor factions are named after their locations (e.g. Jalaba leads the faction of "Megiddo").

I renamed each major faction to correspond to their geographic location / city name just like the rest of them so as to be more consistent. These are the renames as follows:

  • Merneptah: Mennefer - His capital city + province name.
  • Ramesses: Sinai - Descriptions keep on mentioning he's "ruler of Egypt in Sinai", he also starts from "North Sinai" province.
  • Amenmesse: Kush - Keeps on saying he's "Viceroy of Kush".
  • Tausret: Yebu - Her capital city + province name.
  • Seti: Hardai - His capital city + province name.
  • Bay: Tzor - His capital city + province name.
  • Irsu: Tadmor - His capital city.
  • Kurunta: Tarhuntassa - His capital city name, plus he keeps on saying he's ruler of Tarhuntassa.
  • Suppiluliuma: Hattusa - His capital city name, plus he keeps on saying he's ruler of Hattusa.
  • Setnakhte: Amunia - His capital city + province name.
  • Iolaos: Sherden - I didn't change this, it's like this by default in vanilla already (which highlights how weird the rest of the playable factions have been given names of their faction leaders).
  • Walwetes: Peleset - I didn't change this, it's like this by default in vanilla already (which highlights how weird the rest of the playable factions have been given names of their faction leaders).

Future Features
I'd like to do the following features for this mod in the near future:

  • Egyptian Pharaoh Dynamic Faction Naming - Dynamic naming where the name of whichever faction has the current reigning Pharaoh of Egypt is renamed to the "Egypt" faction name. If an existing faction loses the Pharaoh of Egypt title, that faction is renamed back to their original name while the other faction who now has the title repeats the cycle.
  • Hittite Great King Dynamic Faction Naming - Dynamic naming where the name of whichever faction has the current reigning Great King of the Hittites is renamed to the "Hatti" faction name. If an existing faction loses the Great King of the Hittites title, that faction is renamed back to their original name while the other faction who now has the title repeats the cycle.

I'm not going to rename every minor faction like that for this mod, I just wanted factions with character names to be given names based on their location as it made no sense to give some factions names based on characters and other factions on location.

You might want to rename Ra-ked from Rhacotis to Ra-ked.

Also the factions Manyan Phrygia, Ascanian Phrygia, Farafra, Dakhla, Bahariya, Kharga, Kurkur, and Dungul are made-up.

Also while at it you might want to rename Ancyra either to Bla or to Kalasummiya because those two names are actually attested in the Bronze Age in the area of the in-game Ancyra.

The actual Egyptian names for Farafra, Dakhla, Bahariya, and Kharga would be Ta-iht, Mut, Mehtet, and Resyt. As for Dungul, the name seems to come from Nubian and mean something like Bowman-land, in which case an older name would be Tungul. As for Kurkur, zero idea.

The mod is now updated and should be working fine on the latest High Tide update.

What you're talking about is a future planned feature, it's not currently in the mod.

2/10 - Totally useless for me. After the unification of Egypt, our name does not change to Egypt. If someone likes Sinai WC instead of Rameses, this mod is for him. lol :steammocking:
