Red Dead Redemption 2: New Austin

This state is characterized as a largely rugged and arid desert in the process of westward expansion. As such,there is an expected presence of wild animals and outlaws.Armadillo and Tumbleweed are the main settlements of the territory,although it is generally fairly rural; by the time of Redemption 2,it is the second only to Ambarino as the most sparsely populated region.Major industries in New Austin include farming, ranching,oil,and transportation.The State has attracted some immigrants (domestic and foreign) to work on the railways and other developments occurring. New Austin also acts as a key region between US and Mexico trade.There are hints of the
territory's previous Spanish/Mexican heritage,in terms of place names and architecture.By the start of the 20th century,the region is going through some hard times,as Armadillo has been hit by a cholera outbreak, and the Del Lobo Gang run frequent and terrorize civilians indiscriminately,with law enforcement and government being quite weak in responding to the crisis in the territory. Tumbleweed is the region's major settlement by this time,competing with Armadillo for a key railway connection.By 1911,however,New Austin has stabilized somewhat,as Armadillo recovers from the outbreak and expands,winning the key railway connection and becoming a major hub of commerce and settlement in the area.However,Tumbleweed becomes abandoned and is overrun by more hostile gangs,and while law enforcement is somewhat stronger,they still struggle to cope with the many outlaws that still inhabit the region.The name of the region and its largest town as well as its border location,prominent fort,mines,and oil derricks all show a strong Texas influence. The lack of large settlements,as well as a sparse population and untouched landscape is broadly reflective of the Southwestern United States (especially Arizona and New Mexico) during the turn of the century.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Initially,the entire region of New Austin is off-limits.The region isn't blocked with invisible walls.However,Arthur will get attacked automatically upon entering this region.Some of the enemies can also start chasing you.Wait until you reach the epilogue.After that,you will be able to explore these lands without any problems.

New Austin remains an off-limits area throughout the majority of the main storyline. The game doesn't use invisible walls (or other obstacles) to block you from entering New Austin.However, Arthur will be attacked here as soon as he gets detected by enemies (avoiding them is difficult).Some of them will start chasing you.Wait until you reach the epilogue - you will be able to visit this part of the map without any restrictions.

The temperature in New Austin is hot - use suitable clothes to avoid penalties to the stats.

There aren't many quest-related areas in New Austin. Bounty Hunting missions available in Tumbleweed are the only exception.You can come across new random encounters that will give you positive or negative honor points.

3) Ruined farm.You can find a corpse attached to a well's mechanism, money,and valuables.
4) Flying machine wreckage.The main character will add this site to his journal.
5) Otis Miller's treasure.Find this treasure by collecting clues in different parts of the world.The chest,containing Otis Miller's Revolver,is inside of a small cave.
6) Missionary corpse.Loot the body and read the letter.
