How to play CS:GO after Counter Strike 2 (READ DESC)

(THE BETA HAS BEEN REPLACED AND CALLED CS:GO LEGACY. THIS GUIDE STILL WORKS BUT WHEN SELECTING THE BETA CONTINUE WITH THAT ONE)

Mad about the state CS2 is? Want to go back to good ol CS:GO? I got you covered. This step by step guide will help you getting you back to CS:GO and get away from that nasty bare bones CS2 until it gets all its major features back.

(Notice this only works on community servers, workshop maps, Bots on any gamemode, but all game modes are on community servers anyways. The only thing you wont be able to do is queue for official matches. Even the watch feature works!)

First Step

First you want to open your steam and go to Library.

Second Step

Go to Counter Strike and click on it.

Third Step

Click the gear icon on the right side and then click Properties

Settings - Properties

Fourth Step

When you're in properties, Click on betas and then click on the box on the right where Beta participation is. After this click on the beta

"csgo_demo_viewer - 1.38.7.9"
(THIS IS NOW CALLED CS:GO LEGACY. CLICK THAT ONE)


After this it will start downloading CS:GO. Its usually around 12GB but can be more if you have workshop maps.

Fifth Step

When its finally downloaded, click play and then click CS:GO demo viewer.

(The always use this option button is completely optional and I have a better way to separate the two games if you want to switch easily)

(NOTE IF YOU OPEN THE CS SHORTCUT ON YOUR DESKTOP IT WILL TAKE YOU TO CS2 AND NOT CS:GO UNLESS YOU MADE CS:GO A NON STEAM GAME. I WILL LEAVE A LINK TO A TUTORIAL. ALL CREDITS TO KZ Climb CSGO ON YOUTUBE)

Sixth step

When launching into CS:GO press the play button and click official matchmaking. After this click Community Browser

(YOU CAN ALSO PLAY YOUR WORKSHOP MAPS AND DOWNLOAD THEM AS WELL AS PLAY WITH BOTS IN ANY GAME MODE.)

(TO ANYONE WHO DIDN'T PLAY COMMUNITY SERVERS OR DOESEN'T HAVE ANYTHING IN HISTORY OR FAVORITES YOU CAN GO FIND SERVERS ONLINE OR YOU GUYS CAN SEND IP'S TO YOUR FAVORITE CS:GO SERVER IN THE COMMENTS!)

Last step

Once you're in the community browser the only things that work is History and favorites. As I said before though you can still find new servers by looking online or other people sending IP's to their servers they like.

To connect to a IP open your console by pressing the ~ key (on the left beside the escape key on your keyboard) and type "connect [put ip here]" just take out the quotes and brackets so it looks like this

connect 1.23.45.67

If that doesn't work you have to enable console. Go to settings, game, enable developer console.

Conclusion

And that's how you get CS:GO back! You can now play community servers, workshop maps, bots in any game mode, and see your whole inventory, and even use the TV feature to watch matches you played before or tournaments!

Best thing I would recommend is get any PC even if its old and just play it on all low settings and if you need extra fps do 4:3

Because I can play steam deck as any PC. Just the down side is it is limited on some Win games, but the up side I can actually play Prototype on it, when my old dead Win10 PC can't play it at all.
