Understanding the Alpha Warhead: Intro
The Alpha Warhead: a vital mechanic during gameplay in SCP: Secret Laboratory. By the end of this guide, you should understand:
* What the Alpha Warhead is
* How to active and cancel it
* How to survive the Detonation Sequence
<- Alpha Warhead Control Room, located on Surface Zone.

This guide is meant for beginners.
Understanding the Alpha Warhead: What is it?
The Alpha Warhead, in short, is a way to force everybody, including SCPs, to leave the underground section of the facility.
The Alpha Warhead is split into two rooms: Control Room & Warhead Silo.
The Silo is located in Heavy Containment, Whilst the Control Room is located on Surface.

<- The Alpha Warhead Silo. An elevator ride is required to reach it.

In order for the Alpha Warhead procedure to engage, one player must have obtained an O5 OR Facility Manager Keycard and activated the Alpha Warhead Activation Button with the keycard.
Understanding the Alpha Warhead: The Detonation Sequence
Once the Alpha Warhead has been engaged, everybody has 90 seconds to do one of two things:
* Escape to Surface Zone
* Reach the Alpha Warhead Silo and manually cancel the detonation sequence. (more on this later.)

Once the Alpha Warhead Detonation Sequence has been engaged, C.A.S.S.I.E will make an announcement exclaiming the underground section of the facility will be blown up in 90 seconds. Furthermore, the entire facility, including Surface Zone, will have red lighting.

In the event of the Alpha Warhead being cancelled, C.A.S.S.I.E will make an announcement claiming the Detonation Sequence has been cancelled. The red lighting will disappear and it is safe to re-enter the facility.
If the Detonation Sequence reaches 0 seconds, the entire underground section of the facility, including everybody inside, will be blown up, leaving everybody to fight on Surface Zone.

TIP: During the Detonation Sequence, every single door in the facility, except for the doors to SCP-079s containment chamber will open up. If you can, try trap an SCP in there!
Understanding the Alpha Warhead: Activation & Cancellation
<-'READY' indicates the Alpha Warhead can be activated from the Control Room, as long as the Activation Button has been activated.

The Alpha Warhead, in order to be detonated, must be first turned on from the Warhead Silo control panel.
TIP: The Alpha Warhead Silo also contains an Armoury. There is also a chance it may contain an SCP locker.
TIP: There is a chance a 'Zone Manager Keycard' may spawn in The Alpha Warhead silo on one of the shelves.

As previously stated, once the Warhead has been activated from the Control Room, the Detonation Sequence will begin.
This means there is a chance an SCP will be rushing to find the Silo to turn it off.
If anybody, including any human role, presses the Red Button on the Silo control panel, the Detonation Sequence will be cancelled. However, let's say for example it is cancelled with 50 seconds remaining. Once it has been re-activated, the Detonation Sequence will resume at 50 seconds. There is one exception, however. From 10-30 seconds, if it is cancelled during this time, it will always resume at 30 seconds.
The Alpha Warhead CANNOT be cancelled if there is 10 seconds or less remaining on the Detonation Sequence.

TIP: Some servers may have the 'Automatic Warhead' plugin. This means, even if it is not 'READY', it will be automatically activated and CANNOT be cancelled, even if there is sufficient time left. Make sure you check server plugins before playing!
Understanding the Alpha Warhead: Survival
You can easily survive the Alpha Warheads detonation as long as you are on Surface Zone.
Both Gate A and Gate B will open due to the Detonation Sequence, so do not worry if you don't have a keycard that can open gates.

<- 'Surface Zone' is the only section of the facility that will withstand the Warheads blast.

TIP: If the Alpha Warhead isn't being cancelled, there is a good chance the SCPs are coming to surface. Make sure you keep your guns aimed at the elevators to surprise any incoming SCPs!

It is impossible for SCP-079 to survive the Alpha Warheads Blast. However, it is confirmed that in an upcoming update, SCP-079 will be able to Activate the Alpha Warhead at 'TIER 5', meaning he will be able to survive the blast.
Understanding the Alpha Warhead: Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading this guide!
I hope this guide has teached you the basics of the Alpha Warhead, and I hope it will help you in any matches where the Alpha Warhead is being detonated.

Once again, a massive 'Thank you!' for reading.

Yep you were right. Man, its hard to know whats plugin and whats not when there are plugins that do very small changes. I mean if I didn't try it before I would assume that throwing a card to trigger a locked door was also a plugin.

SpaceBug, I believe the radiation is a plugin that some servers use and not a core feature.

You should also include the changes alpha warhead brings (for balancing reasons). Like it giving 939 the ability to see everyone and the radiation slowly killing everyone.

actually a good and underrated guide
