Achievements should show a total of how many kills you've made

So I am unsure if I am missing something to progress further. I am on the third map at the Demon Gate pass and I am stuck there, I can kill the boss sometimes but the one after that I can't manage at all.

Am I missing something to spawn? To upgrade NS I need purple chu qi which seems to be from the Martial Alliance vendor which I don't have. I've made all of the pills I can too. My NS baby only goes up to 25% of its total stats, and I've found no way to increase that.

Some of the areas in map 3 aren't dropping a book item either. I already have the treasure chest from them too, like the Five Gods and Five Sacred Forms: The Wonderful Method of Refining the Body Xuanwu Form from Fantasy Moon Forest. Not sure what the requirement is to get that to drop from a boss is.

Is there anyway to upgrade the level on trinkets? (bottom right slot). There are special ones that drop from bosses that I build around but eventually the stats on them become too outdated. Just to clarify, not the ones you create from equipment in the forge.
