This has taken me FAR longer than expected! As it is now 2:15am, I must unfortunately continue the last few sections over the next day or so. Sorry
Basics of Gameplay: Play Fields
Play Fields
  • Snap consists of 3 fields in which to play cards.
  • A player must win the majority of fields with total power of cards played within.
  • Each field will have a randomly generated mechanic that will be revealed on turns 1,2, and 3.
  • Field mechanics can effect card cost/power/abilities, player energy, and even the fields themselves.
  • Play fields and their mechanics can be modified using specific cards, of which we will discuss in another section.
Basics of Gameplay: Playing the Cards
    Playing the Cards
  • Energy is the amount of points available/required to play cards
  • Each turn players are given an amount of energy equal to the turn number being played. I.E On turn one players have one energy available to use. On turn two-2 energy, turn three-3 energy etc
  • The amount of available energy can be modified by specific cards
  • The amount of energy required to play a specific card is located in the upper left corner of cards (circled in green)
  • Power is the total amount of a card added to the field upon play
  • The card's power is located on the upper right corner of the card (circled in blue)
  • MOST CARDS (not all) have an ability
  • Ability is the special effect of a card upon play
  • Card abilities are located beneath the card in the lower center of the frame. (circled in yellow)
  • Card abilities can effect the card played/your cards/enemy cards/all cards/your energy/the field
  • There are 3 types of card abilities: On Reveal abilities, and On Going abilities, and standard abilities ('standard' here is meant as a descriptive term meaning neither on reveal or on going and NOT a means of importance or comparison of the 3)
  • On Reveal abilities take effect as soon as the card is revealed, and BEFORE the field abilities effect (This is important for cards that effect the field, or when the field has an effect on the cards) and last only that one time
  • On Going abilities take effect AFTER the field effect and persist for the duration of the game.
  • Standard abilities are abilities that are proc'd upon a specific action within their field such as "when a card is played here"
  • Not all cards have abilities. This will be replaced with a flavor text, usually a quote from the character displayed in the card
  • The final, and perhaps most important bit of play information is PRIORITY
  • Priority is which players cards will be revealed first each turn.
  • This is important for cards that effect the field ensuring your opponent does not get the use of a beneficial field effect, and for on reveal cards to ensure that your defensive abilities effect the opponent before their abilities
  • Priority is randomly generated each match and persists the entirety of the match unless effected by specific cards
  • Priority is displayed at the top of the screen on the player names with a gold outline and bar (Unfortunately this cannot be shown in example to save player identity)
  • If you do not have priority, your opponents cards will be revealed first! So always make sure to check priority before playing your turn as misuse of priority can very easily cost you the entire game!!

it's worth noting that the player with 'priority', or who reveals cards first, is whoever is winning as of the start of the turn
