Star Trek: U.S.S. Prometheus (Solo)

Descrição
U.S.S. Prometheus

This is a scaled down CV based off the U.S.S. Prometheus from the Star Trek: Voyager episode Message in a Bottle.

Please remember to "Like/Thumbs Up" this page if you enjoyed this build!

History

This is actually my fourth attempt at this ship, getting smaller each time. My first attempt never made it past the space frame as it was too large, and my second attempt was a very early, low fidelity version that ended up being far to big and outdated for the CPU requirements introduced in early 2020.

The third attempt was a more realistic version that balanced being a good replica of the source material with the ideal max size of a CV in Empyrion, which is about 200m. Recently I started a new game to test out the v1.10 changes and realized that I have never actually built a realistically sized(smaller), usable CV. My third Prometheus is fully functional, but it is also very large for a solo game, wherein the majority of the ship's interior is wasted decorative space (it has 21 cabins... for just me). That Prometheus (216m), along with the Voyager based on it, can be found below:

Also, for those interested in the Delta Flyer seen in the Screenshots, it can be found here:

Enter the Scaled Prometheus (150m)

This fourth attempt is designed to be actually usable in solo or small server play, with minimal wasted space. I managed to have a similar look and feel at about half the size and cost, while still retaining all the necessary usefulness. The goal here really was to cut down on wasted space and only keep really essential areas. That said, I still decided to, and was able to keep the following Deco areas:

1. I kept 3 cabins, just in case a few people wanted to use it on a Server
2. The Main Engineering section with the Faux warp core is in tact, as I felt it was too good of a moment to cut
3. Despite a bar area in the Captain's quarters, i still kept a mess hall (Four Forward), but there is now only one

Thruster Color Options

Please note that unlike other models I have done, in this one, all of the visible blue nacelle is engine, which means it can all turn off and on nicely. That said, I have covered most of the engines with a thin layer of armor, also painted with the blue engine light, so it does not turn off with the engines, yielding an odd look when you turn your thrusters off (second to last image).

If you want a more uniform look, with the entire blue portion of the nacelle to turn off with the thrusters (last image), you need only remove that thin layer of blue light painted combat steel on each side of each nacelle.

Multi Vector Assault Mode

For those curious, no, this does not have multi Vector assault mode; it is only one ship. Check my other Prometheus build linked above for the reasons why.

Conclusion

Let me know what you all think. Did I lose too much detail scaling down? Did I succeed in making a more useful ship, that is more realistic for the actual game (Vanilla)? Would you be interested to see a scaled down Voyager? Or any other Start Trek/ Star Wars ship? Let me know in the comments!

Beautiful! A true work of art!

Yeah, the builds would all have to be powered and thrustered individually.

Funny thing is that they originally wanted Prometheus to split into 5 ships XD

Thanks @LyfeForse! I initially contemplated it with my bigger Prometheus, but elected not to mainly because it would destroy the interior. The two halves would be OK (splitting Engineering notwithstanding), but the two upper ships would effectively cannibalize the majority of the interior. Further, one ship would be doing all the towing when they were together, so it just doesn't work for Empyrion. Also, even when I first saw it on the show, I never really cared for the feature... always felt gimmicky to me.

Very nice silhouette, nacelles look great. Good capture of the Star Trek vessel. Imagine if it could split into 3 builds :steamhappy:

Considering the limits of shapes, this is very impressive!
