My take on the Soviet "Flying Tank" the Antonov An-40 glider which carries a T-60 light tank into battle.

The Antonov A-40 Krylya Tanka (Russian: крылья танка, meaning "tank wings") was a Soviet attempt to allow a tank to glide onto a battlefield after being towed aloft by an airplane, to support airborne forces or partisans. One prototype was built and tested in 1942, but was found to be unworkable, but it works in the game.

Instead of building a glider capable of carrying the T-60 light tank, Oleg Antonov added a detachable cradle to the T-60 fitted with large wood and fabric biplane wings and a twin tail. Such a tank could glide into the battlefield, drop its wings, and be ready to fight within minutes.

One T-60 was converted into a glider in 1942, intended to be towed by a Petlyakov Pe-8 or a Tupolev TB-3. The tank was lightened for air use by removing its armament, ammunition and headlights, and leaving a very limited amount of fuel. Even with these modifications, the TB-3 bomber had to ditch the glider during its only flight, on September 2, 1942, to avoid crashing, due to the T-60's extreme drag (although the tank reportedly glided smoothly). The A-40 was piloted by the famous Soviet experimental glider pilot Sergei Anokhin. The T-60 landed in a field near the airport, and after dropping the glider wings and tail, the driver returned it to its base. Due to the lack of a sufficiently powerful aircraft to tow it at the required 160 km/h (99 mph), the project was abandoned.

Since this plane-tank had no own propulsion in the air it needs to be towed close to its destination by a rather substantial plane, or you can use my cheat-boosters to gain altitude and get close enough to glide to the target.
While in the glider the turret is facing backwards, as I understand it to be able to use the machine gun for air-to-air defence.

Controls.
The tank is controlled from driver's seat.
(Alt +) WASD: Drive.
Alt + Arrow keys or Mouse: Traverse turret and gun elevation.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Machine gun.

The glider is controlled from the second seat.
Alt controls.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
S: Ground brakes.
Up/Down keys / Mouse: Pitch.
Left/Right keys / Mouse: Roll.
B/Beacon: Take-off boosters.
Fire action 7/Num 7: Jettison take-off boosters.
Fire action 8/Num 8: Jettison wings.

I didn't set a burn time on the take-off boosters since you might need them for longer or shorter depending on situation, so don't forget to turn them off before jettisoning them or they might get in your way. They do have R/C units so they can be turned off after release if you forget.

To safely(?) take off and land follow the following procedure.
- From driver's seat release hand brake.
- From pilot's seat, use Alt/Operation mode.
- Start take-off boosters with B/Beacon and take off.
- Fly close to your destination. Try to stay below 200 kph since the plane-tank is not well trimmed for speeds faster than that.
- Turn off and jettison the take-off boosters with B/Beacon and then Fire action 7/Num 7.
- Glide to your target area and land.
- Brake down to 40 kph, the tank's top speed. Both the driver's seat and the pilot's seat (with Alt) can brake.
- Jettison the wings with Fire action 8/Num 8. If you wait until you stand still it might be tricky to get rid of them, so jettisoning them while you're still rolling at a decent speed (40-80 kph) after landing usually makes them fly/fall off.
- From the driver's seat, turn the turret forward with the right arrow key (to avoid clipping) and drive into battle.
