Caesar 3 Augustus mod on steam
By IronCrown
You want to launch augustus mod from steam instead of searching for file in your drive? Or maybe you want to show your 1000 hours in caesar 3 to your friends but you play only with augustus mod (who doesnt?).
Well by boy I just found the way to count your countless hours in caesar 3. All you have to do is:
1) Download augustus mod
2) Place all augustus mod files into caesar 3 folder ../steam/steamapps/common/caesar 3
3) Now important, move or delete SierraLauncher file and rename augustus.exe to SierraLauncher
4) Launch Caesar 3. Instead of the vanilla launcher, you will launch the Augustus mod
Done! Enjoy counting hours and many more features of steam.

Hi! As far as I remember, you have to place augustus mod files into casear 3 folder, not C3. Then you actually rename augustus.exe to SierraLauncher.
So yes for steam to launch augustus you have to replace sierralauncher with renamed augustus.exe.

Hi! Im not the author of the mod, im just big fan their work.
Did you select steamapps\common\Caesar 3 file or steamapps\common\Caesar 3\C3 directory?
In order for the mod to work, as far as I remember, you need to select C3 folder, not plain Caesar 3 in steamapps common.
If it still does not work, you may try to verify integrity of game files (right-click on game in steam library and there is option available), or just reinstall the game.
I hope some of this is helpful.

Thanks for making the mod, I haven't got it to launch yet. Followed these instructions and then retried with those in the readme, both times I get an error to select my Caesar 3 folder, when I do tell it where it says "this is not a proper Caesar 3 folder, select another or it will not launch".

Anyone else had this issue/ got a fix?

There is i quick dirty fix for linux, if you are up for it.

go to the github https://github.com/Keriew/augustus?tab=readme-ov-file .

0.
Remember to update to patch 1.0.1.0, it is listed further down the github page.
put the files into:
/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Caesar 3/C3/

1.
Download the appimage and place it into.
/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Caesar 3/C3/

2.
right click on the appimage -> properties -> permissions -> click "is executable" -> click ok

3.
double click on the appimage and launch.

this will not enable you to launch it from steam, but atleast you will be able to use the mod.

hope this helps

Anyone has any idea how this works on Linux with augustus.Appimage (because it doesn't work straight-forward)? Or if we are forever doomed to log our hours by hand?
