Stored Research

Description
Description
This mod allows colonists to use the research bench with no project selected. Instead of contributing towards a specific project, the produced research points will be stored and can be used later to complete any other applicable research. You can disallow storing research on specific benches.

Once you do select a research project, if there are enough points stored to complete it, including progress already made, the research will be instantly completed.

If you want to use stored research on a project with bench or facility requirements (hi-tech research bench, multi-analyzer), only points acquired from such a bench can be used. This behavior can be disabled in mod settings.

Compatibility
Most mods that do not change the core mechanics of researching should be compatible with Stored Research. That includes research UI mods, even if they include research queuing.

Semi Random Research (Unofficial): compatible at Rimworld version 1.5.
Research Data: compatible.
Research Reinvented: compatible. The only way to store research is through research bench which will comply with some of the Theory category rules. Appropriate research speed multiplier will be applied, and disabling category entirely will disable storing research as well.

F.A.Q.
Q: Is it compatible with ResearchPal/Powl/etc.
A: See above.

Q: Can it be added/removed mid-save?
A: Yes, apart from log errors upon removal, there should be no side-effects from either adding or removing the mod from the existing save.

Hi, I'm trying to optimize my RimWorld mod list for faster load times and better performance. I noticed that this mod significantly increases loading times, which I didn't expect after using it for so long.
Here are my test results:

Full mod list (388 mods): 6:12 without the mod vs. 6:45 with it.

Minimal mod list (10 mods, mostly frameworks): 10 seconds without vs. 17 seconds with.

Base game + DLCs + Harmony + Loading Progress: 6 seconds without vs. 11 seconds with.

Measured via RimSort's "Run" button: 10 seconds without vs. 14 seconds with.

I’ve tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mod, but the issue persists. It might be a corrupted installation or mod config problem, but the behavior is consistent across tests. Any insights or fixes would be appreciated!

Is it possible for you to make this work with multiple colonies? That way both my colonies can research at once and store the search for a project?

Seems like stored research getting carried over between Archonexus maps, which doesn't seems to be intended, considering that it suppose to reset everything research related too.

i know it says its compatible with the 1.5 version of semi random research, but when was that part added, because semi random has a 1.6 version, does that mean its incompatible wit that one?

Just want to say, absolutely love this mod. It's alleviated one of my biggest headaches from being indecisive on what to research but I think I found a bug? With stored up Dark Study, unless this is intended, stored Advanced study points are not removed when spent on Basic anomaly researches.I found it after getting my first research points from a creepjoiner, which give Advanced points and it let me unlock any basic unlocks essentially for free.

Currently seems to be an issue with dubs mint menus where the stored research isn't being used if I select the research through the mint menu, only if I select it through the normal research menu.

Appears to be working just fine in 1.6, many games no issues at all.
