M35 Gun Truck - "Hanoi Hellcat"

This is a gun truck built on an M35 2.5-ton cargo truck. It is heavily based on the gun trucks used by the US Army Transportation Corps during the Vietnam War. The story behind these vehicles is fascinating and too complex for me to write here without clogging up this description, so I highly recommend reading up on it. This particular vehicle is armed with two M60 machine guns (one per side) and a twin M2 Browning .50 caliber machine gun mount on the back. Not much to elaborate on, it’s a truck with guns, you drive the truck and shoot things with it. Enjoy (or not, depends on which side of the gun you’re on)!

Over time it evolved into a family of specialized vehicles. It inherited the nickname "Deuce and a Half" from an older 2 1⁄2-ton truck, the World War II GMC CCKW.

A gun truck is an armored vehicle with one or more crew-served weapons, typically based on a commercial vehicle. Gun trucks often have improvised vehicle armor, such as scrap metal, concrete, gravel, or sandbags, which is added to a heavy truck.
