Truro-Penzance

Description
THERE IS A NEWER VERSION UP: PAR PENZANCE

This route covers the 26 mile Cornish mainline from Truro to the terminus at Penzance as well as the 4 mile St Ives branch from St.Erth. The route depicted in this route is the original broad gauge line opened in 1852 by Brunel's West Cornwall Railway which meant that at Truro where the Cornwall Railway Company's standard gauge Plymouth-Truro railway terminated meaning that until 1866 you had to change trains at Truro.

First Great Western now run almost all of the trains nowadays including an overnight sleeper service from London Paddington stopping at all the stations on this part of the route. On weekdays there are frequent services running over the line which has two steep inclines one from Truro to Redruth and the other from Hayle to Camborne making this route good for running steam on.
PLEASE RATE HOWEVER YOU THINK.

Scenarios available from steam include:

14.18 St.Erth-St Ives-St.Erth (also available to download with BR 101 uploaded by RolandBP)

Steam Special: Cornish Riviera Express

Other scenarios can be uploaded to the workshop.

@TheWierdOne You'll need to change routes for this unfortunately, there is a longer version in my workshop which extends to Par from Truro and is available to download.

does this merge onto the routes I have or wil I need to pause and switch scenarions to do a full London - penzance run?

I really like this route great amount of detail, you have have put alot of time and effort in to it,Exellent!!!

Phillip, this is going to sound odd but, Could you send me the original (non workshop) route if i drop you my e-mail. The reason being you say the speed signs work for you but it's obvious the work shop version has messed things up. I'd love to make personal modifications to the route and have working speed limits. You have my utmost promise that I will not upload my edited version of the route. (i don't believe in stealing credit for others work!) Don't worry if you don't want to. That's completely understandable.

Thankyou I'll have a fiddle around with the signalling and I knew about the up and down lines I decided to make them flip as Penzance is the only terminus on the route so you go 'up' to it. I'm probably wrong but its just what I thought!

Now I'll give a proper review. ignoring the signaling errors and the speed limit sign bug, I'll give you an 8/10. For an approximation of the 26 miles you've done a damned good job. It's not entirely accurate but that doesn't matter since you are giving away your hard work and 26 miles (+ the extra for the St Ives branch) can't have been a quick job.

A quick poke around in the editor and i think i might know what the problem with the signals is. You've placed the markers much further or shorter than they need to be. For example, the DOWN signal to Penzance at Truro Station should only have it's 1 point past the final cross over for the access to the sidings at Truro from that down line (there to take the Falmouth trains off route and into the sidings. not right in front of the next signal. The signal LUA's should automatically cover block to block function. As for the speed limit signs, it's not the sign you've used, I just believe that something has happened whilst finalizing on the workshop that has mucked up your hard work.

The line looks awesome just one MASSIVE problem. You've got your up and down lines mixed. Down is TOWARDS Penzance, up is AWAY from Penzance. - just one minor issue at Truro - an 8 car HST + it's top and tail 43's should *just* fit onto the platform at Truro. The timetable and window route list are wrong for denoting Truro as a short platform

Yes. Quick Drive only gives a shortened route (Truro to Redruth) but the scenario allows access to the full route. Nice work!
