Spheres of Influence

Description
"Spheres of Influence" adds a new mechanic for Great Powers to the game that allows investing Diplomatic points into influencing non-Great Power nations, and eventually exercise control over them through diplomacy.

Influence can be spent in various ways to diplomatically tighten your control over other countries, or reduce the influence of other Great Powers wishing to do the same. Smaller countries can be added to a Great Power's sphere of influence, becoming a new subject type that is similar to a Tributary State, granting autonomy and protection for the subject and trade power to the overlord.

Spheres can be called into wars in exchange for favors. If influenced enough, their overlord can also choose to force them into a more conventional subject relationship, such as by becoming a Vassal or Tributary State.

The system is heavily inspired by Victoria 2's influence mechanic, and functions in much the same way. It was originally created for my other mod, Extended Flavor, but I've chosen to release this system as a standalone as well.

Notes:
- Compatibility with other mods should be quite wide.
- Supports up to a maximum of 16 Great Powers (if you have other mods that change the limit).
- AI is unfortunately quite stupid.
- Should work with existing save files.
- Balance is questionable.
- Not Ironman compatible.

You should use the new scripting gui for this.

Basically every country has "Too high influence resistance" I feel maybe the dip cost should be based on relative dev or something? because right now I can't really use the mod
also maybe the "Influence nation" GP action should add influence, if you can mod that

Doesn't seem to work with Anbennar. At least I didn't notice the new options after loading my save.

i think adding a recurring influence gain through a mechanic similar to subsidies would improve the game play, instead of having to sit on a country and make sure to click every month. i also think there should be a passive gain to vastly inferior countries which you border, something like all neighboring countries with 300 times less dev than you. and also an option to annex said tiny nations without ae gain.

Wow, such a cool idea! I surely hope the devs won't copy it and apply it to only one nation as a part of a paid DLC!

Seems like today's dev diary just copied over your idea !
