Description
A game mode based on vehicular combat.

Inspired by the original Panzerkrieg game mode, Panzerkraft removes base construction and upgrades to provide for faster, simpler gameplay.

Seven variations of win conditions and a pile of match options allow you to experiment with and hone the game experience you want.

A new mechanic is the option to play a four team match (three team matches are possible but not recommended). Note that a four team match has 5 victory points whereas a two team match has only 3.

Requires the Panzer Pack tuning pack in order to work.

Errata:
  • You start with a single, invulnerable base building capable of producing vehicles. Any friendly damaged vehicles nearby are automatically repaired. There are no buildings to construct or upgrades to research. Vehicle costs are adjusted to reflect the all-vehicle combat (e.g. the Wirbelwind costs much less fuel since there's no infantry and it's only good against light vehicles).
  • Sadly, abilities in the game are hard-coded in the sense that not one of the 100+ smoke abilities can be applied to any other vehicles. This is unfortunate since this mod would be much better if all vehicles could deploy smoke. For all vehicles that can use them, smoke abilities cost munitions but have a reduced cooldown. All smoke abilities are now triggered via the same keystroke ('C').
  • Destroying an enemy vehicle can restore the health of the vehicle that destroyed it.
  • There is a custom squad UI to help you learn the stats for the various vehicles and their weapons as well as to track vehicle kills.
  • There is a custom surrender UI but the match only ends when one team remains. In a four team game you can still quit mid-game if you like.
  • There is a custom ticket UI to handle 3 and 4 team matches. The number of victory points for Victory Point win conditions and the number of territories controlled for the Territory win conditions are displayed over the small star to the right of the ticket count (see the screen shot above for reference). Note that all vehicles in the mod can capture territory and victory points; however, capture rate is based on vehicle size (i.e. the smaller the vehicle the faster the capture rate).
  • The custom post-match UI lists the damage inflicted, damage sustained, damage inflicted vs sustained as a percentage, vehicles produced, enemy vehicles destroyed, territories captured, victory points captured, and abilities used for each player.
  • Matches with 4 teams (with 4 or 8 players) work best on the map Mignano Gap. Note that 4 team matches have 5 Victory Points instead of the default 3 that normally appear in 2 team matches.
  • The stock AI doesn't work in this mod in that the AI won't produce vehicles. Vehicle production for all AI players is scripted instead. The best win condition for playing against the AI is Territory Attrition.
  • There are a bunch of match options to allow for customization since it's not obvious what the best starting resources amounts, resource income rates, vehicle production rate, population capacity, sight range, and weapon range should be.
  • Some match options are a bit out there. For example, you can get a sort of 'World of Tanks' style of match by disabling auto-targeting, mini-map, and UI decorators and massively increasing vehicle sight and weapon range.
  • Disabling auto-targeting makes for a very different and difficult game since you must explicitly force your vehicles to shoot at the enemy.

Don Snaek If you open the warning log file and scroll down to the bottom, can you post the lines about the Scar error? Otherwise, it's very hard to determine what's gone wrong.

Clicking on the "produce a unit" notification causes a fatal SCAR error in multiplayer.

CommanderTP - I can't reproduce it, but ensure you have the right tuning packs for those two mods (Text Mod or nothing in the case of Q Mode, Panzer Pack in the case of Panzerkraft mode). Otherwise, try deleting your local copy of the mods and re-downloading them to ensure you have the latest versions.
