Description
Expansion for SirCampalots Extended Tech Tree Mod.

.

Replaces all default (mostly empty) asteroids that are within the sundamage area with mostly large asteroids containing iron, copper and at least one rare resource (which includes silver or letalium). These asteroids contain no worthless empty rock whatsoever, making them much more profitable to mine compared to the default sundiver asteroids which are mostly empty rock.

This mod does aim to provide a good mix of larger and smaller asteroids with more of the rarer resources compared to the asteroids found outside the sundamage zone.

On top of providing way more resources than the default sundamage asteroids, this mod also slightly increases the total amount of sundamage asteroids that will spawn. Also, the area in which these asteroids will spawn has been slightly enlarged, so some of these sundiver asteroids may spawn closer to the edge of the sundamage boundary.

.

Don't try to fly into the sundamage area unprepared, you will fry into a crisp in no time. You can however use the resource collector to collect resource nuggets that are located within the sundamage zone (since the 0.23.0 crew construction update).

.

The asteroids in this mod are based on the Mineable Megaroid - Cheating Edition asteroids and many of these asteroids are edited to contain some silver (and a few will contain some letalium, but not as much as silver), but I don't consider this mod a cheat because of the larger investment and effort required to be able to mine these asteroids. You can't just park an unprepared mining ship next to these asteroids and start mining its minerals because the sun damage will damage all unprotected ships and kill any crew that ventures outside. Expensive specialist equipment and a good ship design are needed to harvest these asteroids from the deadly sundamage area before you can mine them, so I think the reward should also be better :).

This is NOT a standalone mod. It needs Extended Tech Tree Mod to function properly. Extended Tech Tree Mod can be gotten from here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946411143

.

This mod is fully compatible with my other asteroid mods, except the mod No Asteroids (for obvious reasons). The game won't crash if you use No Asteroids, but none of the sundamage zone asteroids will spawn with No Asteroids enabled. I suggest you use Less Dense Asteroids instead if you want to dilute the amount of asteroids.

This mod was actually suggested to me by someone who wanted a version of Mineable Sundamage Megaroids, but for Extended Tech Tree Mod, so here you go o/

@_jonat_ Thanks, I will have a look. I am currently investigating finding a workaround for an incompatibility with another mod, but will look into this soon (also kinda weird this mod would even break, but unexpected things can happen).

I think like the Sun zone grabber mod, something about the gas clouds update broke this too. I get infinite load when starting a new coop career save with it enabled.

Version 1.1.0 will support Cosmoteer version 0.26.2 from now on. Previous versions will no longer work due to changes in how asteroids are spawned.

Version 1.0.2 is now released and is a major update.

This update adds Duranium as mineable resource in these asteroids.
Also renames the asteroids in this mod to now contain their most noticeable resources, similar to how asteroids are named in Mineable Megaroids.

(in star systems generated before this patch, some of the names may be a bit off due to how some of the existing asteroids were repurposed. In newly generated star systems the names should be the correct ones)

@HazeyInDaHead: If it is a mod conflict, it would help to see your mod list.
This mod should include generating asteroids with the new resources.
Letalium is relatively rare though. I'm not sure but I may have at least 1 guaranteed spawn with Letalium in this mod, but I'm not sure as it's been a while since I last worked on this mod.

But if you are finding asteroids with the other new resources, it's probably not a mod conflict.

Maybe its a mod conflict but Im not seeing any extended tech tree mats in the sundiver asteroids. Only vanilla mats. I have all the patch mods that should add them but I cant find Letalium in them. :'(

It probably is a game optimization issue.

The more your PC has to work to compute something, the slower it will do it (generally speaking).

I use exclusive fullscreen with my 360hz monitor. The fps counter is from the settings.

Does this mean that this is a game optimization issue ?

20-30fps at 8x speed is pretty good actually.

How are you measuring the fps btw? 360fps is insanely good. You have vsynch disabled?
I'm getting 60fps max using my potato pc (when at 1x speed).

Ok so how i mine the sundiver asteroids is to:

1) use advance shields to tank the sun damage
2) using the tractor beams to pull deep Sundiver Asteroids
3) Then i mine them outside the sundamage zone
4) I usually just click mine and select the entire asteroid
5) Since there are hundreds if not thousands of ores, my crew is assign to mine/pick up each individual ores (Using the Advance resource collector). (I dont use instant construction or the compacted storage mods)

The issue arises when i use the mining operation on the entire asteroids. When i start to mine and the ores starts to appear the games seems to lags heavily and slows to a crawl. From 360 FPS to 20-30fps. (This is at 8x speed)
