TF2 HUD's & Console Commands
By Nero
A quick and short guide using Console Commands and third party HUD's. The Console Commands mentioned in this guide will help you die less to enemies, stickies or sentries, because your sight was blocked and you couldn't see the imminent threat!

I will go over some Console Commands you must use, and how to download a custom third party HUD for the game.

Enable the Console
If you already don't have it enabled.
Go to your Options, in the options window look down and you'll see Advanced, press on it. You will see a window pop up with 2 options:
  • Fast weapon switch
  • Enable developer console
Make sure "Enable developer console" has a check mark. Then you can open it up using your set keybind for the developer console, the default is "~" - the key just below "ESC"

You can also enable "Fast weapon switch", that is if you prefer instantly switching to your desired weapon without the Loadout Hud appearing.
FOV/Viewmodel Command
FOV
There are 2 options you can go to your options or do it trough the console.

Options:
Once more go to your Options, go to the Video tab, press Advanced, and select your desired FOV.

Console:
Open the Developers console and type in "fov_desired AMOUNT". Set the FOV to the maximum of 90, but you can play on your desired amount.

Viewmodel
Open your Developers console and type in "viewmodel_fov AMOUNT". My preferred amount is 100, but you can choose what you like the most. I suggest settings this between 90 or more, this helps open up your view and you can see more things without your character blocking your sight. If you set the viewmodel too high your character model will disappear.

This allows you to see stickies or enemies in the corner where otherwise your character model would block it.

Imagine the medkit was a sticky bomb. With the default viewmodel FOV it is quite hard to see it, but with your viewmodel FOV set to 100, you can clearly see it's there. This can be extremely useful in fast paced situations.

You can also use "tf_use_min_viewmodels 1" to make your model go to the bottom of your screen and it will open up even more of your screen.

You can disable this by typing in 'tf_use_min_viewmodels 0"
Mouse Mode
This Console Command allows you to use your mouse in the leaderboard to press on players and use actions such as "Report, Mute, Add Friend, Open Trade, Profile". Enter this in the Console Command "tf_scoreboard_mouse_mode 1" setting the 1 into 0 will disable it.

You will be able to report players for hacking, mute their voice chat, add them as a friend, make a trade and view there profile. This command also adds a scroll wheel so in a large lobby you will be able to see all the players.
Custom HUD
If you are tired of the plain and boring HUD of TF2 you can always use a third party Custom HUD. Here's how!

Go to a website widely used for modding called gamebanana[gamebanana.com]

Find your desired HUD and press on it. Then scroll down and press on Manual Download.

Go to the drive you have installed Team Fortress 2 and then go to Steam/steamapps\common\Team Fortress2\tf\custom\ or go to your Steam library right click on Team Fortress 2 press properties and press Local Files from there you will see a button called browse, press it. It will take you to the Team Fortress 2 folder from there press tf folder and then custom. If the "custom" folder isn't there then you can simply create a new folder and call it "custom".

Extract the ZIP file you have downloaded and move the extracted file into the custom folder. After that launch your game and you will see the custom HUD has been installed.

If this guide helped, I would appreciate you rating it, adding it to your favorites and sharing it with others and a award or 2 won't hurt.

Hey thanks for your reply. I've noticed and I have indeed downloaded an outdated hud. The evehud was by jungle inferno not Sinders. I've searched that one and it works completely fine!
thanks alot!

Hey. Could you tell me where did you download the hud? If I am correct and you downloaded e.v.e HUD from gamebanana by Sinders, then you must follow the requirements given by the developer.

Requirments:
Windows 11/10/8/7
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

If it still doesn't work I will have to try and download it myself. There could be a posibility that the HUD is outdated.
