Riftwalker
  • Cornered?
  • Tough enemy in the way?
  • Barrier blocking your path?
  • Bored, and looking for a way to instantly teleport 25 strata below Qud?
Space-time vortices are your friend!

Riftwalker adds a new mutation and new items to the game to make it easier to go exploring through vortices.
Features
  • A new Escape Rift mutation, to help you get out of tough situations by diving into a vortex.
  • The vortex jar and riftwalker's backpack items, which can both be used to spawn new vortices.
  • Vortices spawned by the Space-Time Vortex mutation now spawn at the location selected by the player (rather than a random adjacent tile). The mutation cost of Space-Time Vortex is slightly increased. This change _only_ applies to
    the player, not to NPCs that use Space-Time Vortex.

Could you make it so npcs that end up with the mutation that are in your party don't end up using it randomly.

I happened to Proselytize an enemy Esper Hunter (which had teleported me across Qud previously via this "increased accuracy with enemy vortexes" bug, and it turns out they did not actually have the Space-Time Vortex mutation! It turns out they in fact had the Escape-Rift Mutation. When they used it, it had teleported Me instead, for some reason. Perhaps the Escape-Rift is specifically attuned to target the player, as opposed to the creature that uses it? I hope this helps in some way, and thank you for another great mod kernelmethod!

i've experienced being teleported multiple times by a single vortex before without having this mod, so it seems to be a vanilla issue

Re: enemy accuracy of Space-Time Vortex -- I've tested this fairly extensively and (as best as I can tell) it isn't any more accurate with the mod than without. I'll keep investigating to see if there are conditions under which enemies might get the accuracy improvement; that said, you're supposed to have an 11% - 21% chance of getting sucked into a vortex after it spawns (depending on whether it starts drifting before your turn), so it isn't *that* unlikely that you get sucked in.

As for getting repeatedly warped -- I'm looking into it, I've observed the same bug several times. The mod doesn't make any changes to the actual behavior of vortices so *in theory* this shouldn't be a bug with the mod, but I haven't been able to replicate the bug without the mod.

Otherwise, I can't explain why I'm being sucked into a space-time vortex 1-4 turns after the previous one.

But seriously - with this mod, the accuracy of enemy space-time vortexs also increases (and appears / just becomes visible) the ability of some vortexs to teleport other vortexs in your tile, which teleport you once more)
