Where to find

On balboa island, in the bear dens. to distract the bear at the entrance to the den, find berries on balboa island and put them in the box with a blue cloth in it. in the den you will find a crate containing a machete, and a blueprint of the machete.

Vs Bruce

Hits required in easy/normal to kill Bruce. 10
Hits required in hard to kill Bruce. 13
To hit Bruce when he strikes, you will have to time your swings.

Vs boar and screecher

Hits required in easy/normal to kill boar. 6
Hits required in hard to kill boar. 8
It helps if you find a spot that the boar can't hit you. Once you do that, it's easy pickings.

You will have to be really skilled to hit a screecher with a machete. Don't try it.

Vs puffer fish and seagull

I suggest hitting it and backing up a meter or two before hitting it again. Remember to keep as much distance as possible when hitting the puffer fish. If you let it get too close then it will explode about the distance of three or four meters around itself.

If you want to get a good whack at it the seagull, build a birds nest, then run at it and whack it.

Vs lurker, bear, and mama bear

When you counter a lurker, it's first action will be to leap at you, so you will want to be ready for that. I just stay in the same spot and hit the lurker.

The bear will charge at you and start to claw you, so to fight it hit it then back up then run at it and hit it again. continue the process until the bear is dead.

I would suggest to use a bow for fighting a mama bear, but if you don't have a bow or don't want to use it, use the same hit and back up tactic on the mama bear.

Vs Mudhog, White Screecher, and Butler Bot.

You don't need to fight the Mudhogs on caravan town. Just run past them until you get to the ditch.

The White Screecher is faster than the normal Screecher, meaning it is harder to dodge the rocks it drops. And don't even try to hit the White Screecher with a Machete.

Use the same tactic that you use on the bear.

Vs Purple Lurker, Angler Fish, and Rhino Shark.

I just fight it straight on. I don't move from my spot and hit it, since Purple Lurkers don't do much damage to you.

It will charge at you and try to bite you. Swim away until it misses then attack.
For the Rhino Shark to die, just break the pillars and place the red barrels in them, then be on the opposite side of the pillar and let the Rhino Shark charge at the pillar. When the Rhino Shark hits the pillar. It will explode because the red barrel is a bomb. Do that with all pillars

Vs Polar Bear and Scuttler.

Hits required in easy/normal to kill Polar Bear. 7

Use the same tactic as used on the bear.

Same tactic as used on Purple Lurker.

Vs Hyena and Alpha.

They can bite you and they can grab you. If they grab you they will start dragging you around and the only way to force them to drop you is by hitting them with a weapon(Like a machete). After they drop you though, they will most likely get another bite at you before leaving.
Sometimes they suddenly run away before coming back. Be careful when that happens because you could get distracted by another hyena and not see that the one that ran away is now in your back ready to grab you by surprise.

Dodge it's attacks and attack it.
