Description

A custom story for Amnesia: The Dark Descent in which you once again take on the role of Daniel, roughly one year after his ordeal at Brennenburg. Daniel has been doing quite well since his escape, but one night, a loud crash awakens him. It is up to you to investigate the source of the disturbance, and find out what it all means.

I honestly didn't like it.. I was expecting much more than only running through corridors knowing well that a key here opens a room with another key. And what was that ending ? A boss fight ? nah I didn't like it. 6/10. I usually enjoy every custom story but I literally speedrun this one cause it wasn't enjoying it. WOW I picked up a key, oh hey monster, let me hide real quick, I know you'll despawn in 1 minute. The story was great though. This is my opinion. It's not a judgment or anything.

I see this as the best overall custom story and the best fan-made canon Sequel to the Original Dark Descent game. The gameplay is very similar to the original, which I thought was perfect, with just a bit more original gameplay twists to make it intriguing, but familiar. It's not overburdened with jumpscares, has that same traditional Amnesia atmosphere, and the story itself actually felt like a true plausible continuation to the story and not just a crazy fanfic. The fact that it's so long somewhat improves the experience, as I have already replayed it a few times and still get enjoyment out of it just like the original game, unlike many custom stories that are short and don't have a lasting impact.

In short, great custom story, underrated as heck, and deserves to be played if you loved the Original Dark Descent as much as I did.
