INTRO

The ''VAC'' or ''Valve Anti Cheat'' is an anti cheat system that's used in many of valve backed games.
But at times when it comes to detecting cheats in certain games, VAC is nowhere to be found.


-Games that have the worst VAC detection system are:

-𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐
-𝐃𝐨𝐭𝐚 𝟐

HOW EXACTLY DOES VAC WORK?

-A common question that's floating around either Steam Guides or Steam Discussions.

-To put it simply 𝐈𝐭 ''𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬'' 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, but how?


-𝐕𝐀𝐂 is basically integrated into every 𝐕𝐀𝐂 secured server. The moment it detects a third-Party software being used, it triggers it's Anti-Cheat system, resulting in 𝐕𝐀𝐂 ban of an individual that was cheating.

-𝐕𝐀𝐂 also works outside of it's own integrated Cheat Detection system. 𝐕𝐀𝐂 will also work on a player that got mass reported by other players for different types of Cheats.

-Which Also results in some people getting banned for no reason. Most of the times those Bans result from the enemy team getting too tilted or salty about the skill difference. So they just assume the player is cheating and mass report him resulting in a false un-appealable ban.

-For example, if someone gets banned in the middle of the game it will usually say in the public chat.

TYPES OF VAC BANS

-There Are many types of 𝐕𝐀𝐂 bans, instead of just a standard game ban there are more variations that all have different messages on your or a banned individual's profile.

-These 𝐕𝐀𝐂 bans are:




-You have: 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐧, 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐧, and last but not least your most common type of ban: The 𝐕𝐀𝐂
ban.

-Each Ban serves different purpose, but while some may not allow you to trade, you are still able to play the game while other types of 𝐕𝐀𝐂 ban you permanently from Valve official servers.

SHOULD YOU BE AFRAID OF GETTING FALSELY BANNED?

-The simple answer is 𝐘𝐞𝐬 and 𝐍𝐨. Basically your choice.

-But that doesn't mean you are guaranteed to get a False ban. As long as you do not inject a cheating software or any kind of Third-Party software into the game, you should be alright for the time being.

-Actually, the chances of you getting a false ban are really low. We are talking about maybe 𝟎.𝟎𝟏% chance of getting it, then again it's still not a zero, so you should be careful eitherway.

-So yeah pretty uncommon and rare for you to get a false ban, so you should not worry or overthink it :D.

WHAT TYPES OF THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE DOES VAC DETECT?

-There is a lot of it. Most common detected cheats are:

-𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞: 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞: (𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐀𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐭, 𝐁-𝐇𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐩 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐬, 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐭, 𝐞𝐭𝐜.),

-And more different types of cheats on different Valve games.

-I Would explain what each cheat does, but the cheat names give you common sense of what it usually is.

-Now these are most common types of executors i could find, if there are more, then I'm sorry that I missed some of them.






-Please for the love of God don't get any brainlet ideas and start looking up these executors, so you can use them to cheat later on....

CURRENT STATUS OF VAC (ESPECIALLY IN CS:GO)

-I Decided to look up my MM (Match Making) history today and the results can pretty much speak for themselves:








-Basically you get the Idea of the current 𝐕𝐀𝐂 status in CS:GO.
-𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐕𝐀𝐂 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬.

-Most of the enemy team players were 𝐕𝐀𝐂 banned (about 𝟳𝟱% in 𝗢𝗡𝗘 team), also applies to teammates.

HOW TO SPOT A CHEATER?

-There are Many Ways of noticing a cheater in-game, here are some most common examples:

𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘 #𝟭: The cheaters will usually respond with the almighty ''?'' after getting called out first by someone. Most of the time this means they are in the denial and are just trying to cover themselves up with their Fragile Ego. Most of the times they act dumb and pretend they aren't cheating (being really serious, talking back, trying to make a point for themselves, 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 hearing the concept of the ''STFU'' word, etc.). -𝐘𝐞𝐬, 𝐢 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐍𝐞𝐨𝐤𝐂𝐒'𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 (big respect for the guy making fun of these people) 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢 𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐮𝐩 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄 #𝟐: Blatant, spottable cheating. This is really just as easy as it can get spotting them. Most of the time you can see it during the gameplay or later on when you are rewatching the replays. I can't upload a gif without lowering the pixels to the point it's un-watchable. Just look up on the Youtube or somewhere and you'll see what i mean.


𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄 #𝟑: Fresh Account, movement, 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞, crosshair placement, etc, Observe their gameplay carefully, If they play like a 4 year old with the steering wheel or have situational awarness of a gold fish and still somehow dominate the whole server they are most likely cheating, But don't just look for the bad players. Actually many of the already decent players use cheats, these are harder to spot (especially when they are good at hiding them), but then again ''𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭''. Just look at their stats through the game and rewatch replays if you must. here is an example of a Red Flag during your gameplay:



-Now i am not immediately accusing all fresh accounts of cheating. Some people are really legit and are genuinely trying the game out. But these red flags most of the times apply in higher rank lobbies or any high rank competitve game (𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗲, 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗲𝘁𝗰.)

HOW ARE CHEATERS AFFECTING THE COMMUNITIES AND GAMEPLAY OF PEOPLE

-There are many effects Cheaters have on the gameplay for 𝗡𝗲𝘄 and 𝗢𝗹𝗱 players alike. Most of the times these effects are Negative as it results in players getting fed up with it and just decide to quit the game. Think about this: You are an old player that for some reason got sudden mood to return and try playing the game you left long time ago, only to come back to getting headshotted around every corner you stand. Or a new player trying the game out, all happy and excited only to get killed by a level 1 ''zongalo233'' fresh account with 21 hours on record saying: ''𝐧𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐥''

-So before thinking about boosting your own fragile ego, think about what your ''𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬''. We get it, you are either way too bad for higher ranks and decide to cheat or you just do it for the ''funny''. Trust me 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐒𝐀𝐃.

COUNTER:STRIKE 2 VAC STATUS

-With The full release of Counter:Strike 2 to the new Source 2 engine, we still don't see any improvement to the VAC system. Since it's first day i've seen multiple people making cheating youtube videos. Instead of fixing the VAC system, valve rather focuses on skins and cases. Maybe we will see it improving in the long run since the game has just fully released. Until then don't be an orphan and decide to cheat for ''funny''.
