"You find yourself in the middle of a forest. There's only a forest in front of you and a... giant barrel? For some reason, there's light, water and even Wi-Fi inside of it! What will you do now?"

gm_barrel - is a small map with a giant barrel in the middle of it, fully made out of brushes, without any real plot. It was made aproximately in a week, and each day I spent around 7-8 hours on it. Also, this is my first finished map, so don't judje too hard.
Alternative title - gm_oildrum001 (this is how barrels are called in the game files)

Map features:
-A giant barrel in the middle of the map, fully made out of brushes, with 4 (technically 5) floors with diffrent pros and decorations on them
-Less giant barrel (a prop) which you can punch with the gravity gun and it'll scream like a real person! Yay!
-About 100 even less giant barrels that are props!
-A small forest with trees from EP2 of HL2
-Somewhat decent ambience consisting of birds outside and metal hum inside
-3D skybox, "extending" the playable forest area
-Lighting and working sun
-WORKING TOILET
-A secret room, path to which opens if you press something somewhere
-And more!

Known issues:
-WARNING! THERE IS A ROOM ON THIS MAP WITH A TON OF PROP_PHYSICS BARRELS, DO NOT MOVE THEM OR YOUR SERVER WILL EXPLODE! (this is intentional and won't be fixed)
-Water is displayed weirdly if you look at it from a specific angle. I do not know how to fix it in a way, that it'll look good.
-There's one place, where water is not very realistic. I am aware of this and will not fix this, because I lack the creativity to make this place look more realistic and logical.
-Stairs inside of the barrel are displayed weirdly through glass. This is happening because both stairs and glass are func_details and it is done for optimisation purposes, meaning it will not be fixed.
-Vines on the barrel are displayed in all black. Dunno how to fix it, and too lazy to anyway.
-The door that leads out of the barrel doesn't work properly if you try to use its right side (right side when you're exiting the barrel). I have literally zero idea on why that happens and can't fix it, so just try to use the left side.

Q&A

1.
Q: WIll the map get updated?
A: Most likely, no. There could be bug fixing updates if there will be some bugs (besides the ones I listed), but there most likely won't be any major content updates

Q: Will there be more maps, and if yes - when?
A: I can't really answer now, but I think there will be. I have 2 maps that are frozen as of now, and these won't get released any time soon. I'm thinking of making an another map, but I can't say anything for sure. And there are no dates, obviously.

Q: What or who was the inspiration behind this map?
A: Map named gm_can. I never actually visited it in person, only saw it on the TV in the Jazztranauts gamemode. I just thought the concept of scaling a prop and making it a playable level sounded interesting, so I decided to make my own map with this concept in mind

Q: Do I need something to play this map the way it was intended to be played? (EP2, for example)
A: I honestly do not know myself. I made this map using Hammer++, and it does not support Gmod officially, so I imported all the content through sweat and blood. In theory, you will still probably need EP2 to play the map correctly, so I'd advise mounting it (or bying it if you haven't already). Other than that, you're good to go. I packed everything custom into the BSP.
