How to download mods for SW Battlefront II

Hi! In this guide i will explain exactly step by step how to download
mods for battlefront 2!

・Go to Nexusmods

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ To start go to nexusmods.com ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

• To start, go to www.nexusmods.com
  
  
  
• Scroll down a little bit and click on 'view all 2,213 games'
  
  
  
• Go to 'Filter by name' in the middle left side of your screen
  
  
• Type 'Battlefront 2 (2017)'
  
  
  
• Click on the battlefront 2 picture
  
  
  
• Here you can find all featured mods, to see all mods scroll down and click on 'Explore all mods'
  
  
  
• Here you can start to look for all the mods you want to download, if you want to search for a specific mod you can type the name of the mod in the top right corner of the website or you can filter mods by trending, unique downloads etc.
  
  

・How to download the mods

• To download a mod, simply click on it first and you will see something like this: (using: Film Accurate Anakin Skywalker Hair mod as a example)
  
  
  
• Next click on 'Download: Manual'
  
  
  
• Next you will see the following screen (view image below) Dont buy premium for a faster download, its a waste of money. Just do the slow download, depending on your wifi speed the usual mod download can take from 1 second to 20 minutes.
  
  
• The mod will take 5 seconds until it starts downloading, when its done downloading it should end up in your downloads folder on your computer. (your mod rar file might be different from mine since i have winrar downloaded, dont worry you shouldn't need winrar to download & use mods)
  
  
  
• Download all the mods you want or just 1 mod, for this guide i will be using only 1 mod as a example.

・Download Frosty Mod Manager

• Open up a new tab in your internet explorer and search for 'https://frostytoolsuite.com/downloads.html'. if you click on the link from this guide, steam will tell you the website is harmfull, its not, but if you really dont trust it now then dont open it, even though its not harmfull its always best to trust your gut when visiting websites that google or steam mark as 'harmfull/unsafe'
  
  
• When you open the website you will be greeted by 3 options:
  mod manager / editor / open source. Download the mod manager by clicking on the big green download button underneath it.
  
  
  
• When its done downloading, simply go to your downloads folder and open the zip folder to a location of your choice (i suggest the downloads folder or desktop)
  
  
  
• Open the FrostyModManager folder and click on 'Frostymodmanager.exe' the program will then install itself very quickly and you will be greeted by this window (view image below)
  
  
  
• If you dont already see star wars battlefront 2 as a option, click on either 'new' and then find your way to the location you have sw battlefront 2 installed and then click on the sw battlefront.exe or you can simply click on 'scan for games' and it might add sw battlefront 2 automaticlly.
  
  
  
• Once you see the game, simply click on it. You will then be greeted by this screen 'view image below'
  
  
  
• If this is your first time using frosty mod manager, you should not see any mods yet like my frosty mod manager. To add mods, simply click on 'Add Mod(s)' and then double click on the mod(s) you want to add in your downloads folder.
  
  
  
• Once you have added the mod(s) click on them in the frosty mod manager program and then click on 'Apply Mod(s)'
  
  
  
• Once you have done this same process with all the mods you downloaded, you should be good to go! However here is a small tip that might prevent some future issues: first go to 'tools' in the top left corner of the program and click on 'options'. Then click on 'launch options' and make sure the default launch option is set to 'EAdesktop' and not another program, if it is make sure you change it to EAdesktop! Then click on 'save' in the bottom right corner of the program.
  
  
  Now you should be all done! To start the game with the mods simply go the top midde of the program and click on 'Launch'. Please note that this might take quite a while to start even on a good gaming pc, especially if its your first time launching the game via frosty mod manager. The EAdesktop app might also open a couple times and eventually ask you to log in with your EA account to continue, if it aks you to do so you will have no other choice and log in. Afterwards the game should continue to launch again like normal.

Please note that there is always a chance that you might encounter issues while downloading mods from nexus mods or launch the game via frosty mod manager.

Here are some possible issues that might happen and how to solve them:

• The game wont launch at all after clicking on 'launch' in frosty mod manager.
  To fix this issue either re-install the entire frost mod manager program (game most likely wont start because the frosty mod manager client you are using is very outdated) or download the frosty fix program: https://github.com/Dyvinia/FrostyFix
  
  
• EA app wont open at all
  This might be because you
  1 - Dont have the EA app installed
  2 - Still have the old 'origin' program installed and did not update it to the new EAdesktop program
  3 - Dont have the EA desktop app as your default launch option in the frosty mod manager program, i explained in the guide how to make it the default launch option.
  
  
• The game starts but none of the mods work
  This is most likely because the mods you are using are outdated and not made for the current version of the game, or you just did not apply them, i explained how to do this in the guide. However if thats not the case just re-install the program or download the frosty fix program.

@CriminalChris if its not working when you try to launch, you might have to change it to launch from steam on frostymodmanager. I forget how to do it exactly but its when youre on the mod select menu, just look around there and im sure youll find it

@criminalchris sorry for the late response. There is no difference between owning the game on steam or on the EA launcher, because if u own it on steam and then connect your steam account to your EA account u also own the game on the EA launcher :)
