xS9 mod: Ultimate Guide

I finally created guide to mod called "xS9 mod" I hope you will find here what are you looking for :P

Hi, Im the creator of xS9 mod I created this guide for people who doesn't understand or have troubles playing on my mod. I hope you will find that what are you looking for :P

◈▹Pre-furnace(4th zone)

When you are playing regular modded terraria you are going mostly through 3 type of zones: Pre-hardmode, hardmode and post moon lord content (Depends on which mods you downloaded).

While playing on xS9 mod there is 4th zone which I call "Pre-furnace"

I call it "Pre-furnace" because obtaining furnace in my mod is so hard that it can be counted as one of the zones.












So to beat furnace zone you have to get furnace, there are 2 ways to get it:
-Furnace Skip (Hard for beginners but short)
-Normal way (Easy but long)

-------⚜▻Tips for beginners◅⚜-------

I'm big fan of hard games, so I made xS9 mod hard, some of the people can have troubles while playing on it, so here you can find tips which can help you beat my mod

◈▹Hands

So if you are playing on other gamemode than journey mode you've noticed that you start with hands in your inventory instead copper tools.

Hands allows you to mine, chop and kill enemies but they are slow and are absolutely useless

So if you wants to get something better to mine I recommend getting you either: stone club or cactanium pickaxe.

Stone club crafting recipe:
- 15 Wood (Forest biome)
- 10 Stone blocks
- 30 Ropes
- 1 Stick
You have to be near workbench to craft it

Cactanium pickaxe crafting recipe:
- 10 Sand blocks (Desert biome)
- 1 Cactus Pickaxe
- 7 Cactanium bars
You have to be near workbench to craft it

◈▹Pixel Altar

Pixel Altar is one of the most important items, you can craft in it Pixel's gift.

After opening Pixel's gift you can get:
- Iron / Lead bar
- Crimtane / Demonite bar
- Crimson / Corruption seeds
- Shadow scale / Tissue sample
- Rocket potion
- Boots of Darkness
- Devi
- Devil Mask (Don't equip it if your character isn't on hardcore difficulty)
- Devil chestplate (Don't equip it if your character isn't on hardcore difficulty)

This is Pixel Altar and Pixel's gift crafting recipe:

◈▹La Pixel coin

In my mod there is special reward for people who collected 999 platinum coins. When you have 999 platinum coins in your inventory (Not in coin slot), then you can craft: "La Pixel coin".

You can craft various item out of La Pixel coin or use it in the vending machine.

Sadly, Vending machine drinks aren't obtainable at the beginning of the game, but I mentioned about them here because later they will be very useful.

◈▹Weird Box

Weird box is one of the best items at early game, it can be obtained easily and contains good loot

Weird box contains:
- Sniper shotgun
- Rocket potion
- Wand of cats
- Potion of brightness
- Toxic mana potion
- Life revolver
- Mana cannon
- la Bombelo friend
- Chicken

-------⚜▻Mobs◅⚜-------

A lot of people sometimes have problem with slaying monsters, here you can find out what they do and how to kill them.

◈▹Surface mobs (Day)

The most common and annoying mobs in my mod are: FBI Helicopter and Aggressive bird

They can be trouble for new players, here's how to defeat them easily

◉.Aggressive bird.◉

To easily kill aggressive bird you just need any weapon with knockback, this bird doesn't have knockback resist so it's very easy to keep distance with him

When you doesn't have any knockback weapon, you can always hide underwater, the bird won't kill you in there

◉.FBI Helicopter.◉
FBI Helicopter is very hard to destroy, it won't take any knockback, if you doesn't have good weapons you won't kill it

FBI Helicopters can't spawn in Deep forest biome (They have VERY low chance to spawn)

There is a way that allows to escape from them easily:

1.) Ropes, when you are on the surface and there is a open space, which allows you to build in the direction of space, then build straight line of the ropes then when helicopter will be close enough fell of the ropes ( purple arrow ) and then quickly use any blocks which you have in inventory and place them like dark blue blocks on the picture.
















2.) When you doesn't have any ropes, you can always hide underwater, the FBI Helicopter won't kill you in there. If you will be lucky enough FBI Helicopter will fly away

◈▹Surface mobs (Night)

For some people night in xS9 mod is hard, here you will find useful tips how to deal with night monsters.


◉.BOOM Zombie.◉

BOOM Zombie spawns at night on surface, he will spawn more often after killing Eye of Cthulhu.
When BOOM Zombie gets hit, he will spawn dynamite under him.
BOOM Zombie deals 1000 damage and inflicts stoned debuff

After killing Skeletron, BOOM Zombie will be spawning bombs instead of dynamites.

TIP: Easiest way to kill it is just using any long/medium range weapon, because BOOM zombie have 10 hp, he is probably the easiest monster to kill in entire mod

◉.Zombie archer.◉
Zombie archer is hard to kill, because he is shooting homing arrows, which doesn't collide with tiles, he have a lot of hp and inflicts confused debuff.

TIPS:

1.) If you wants to kill it, you have to use any long range weapon with good damage, otherwise you will probably fail.

2.)If you wants to avoid it, so it won't bother you while/: crafting, building base and etc. You should do one of the following things:
- Build sky base (If you build sky base on correct high, it's arrows won't reach you)

- Dig a hole on both sides of your base (If you will dig a huge hole, then he will fall to it, and his arrows won't get you also then you wont have to worry about other ground monsters)

- Build wall on both sides of your base
(It works simillar to hole strategy, but it won't protect you entirely)

- Build town (If you build town with propper amount of npc's, all hostile mobs will stop spawning)

◉.Ruby eye.◉

Ruby eye will start spawning after killing Eye of Cthulhu, it shoots laser and if Ruby eye will hit player, they gain venom debuff.
The lower hp of Ruby eye, then the lasers are being shoot faster

TIP: Easiest way to kill it is by using fast weapons, because if it will be alive long enough, you can have a problem dodging it's lasers, also sometimes fast weapons can stun flying eye enemies type if used correctly

◉.Giant zombie.◉

Giant zombie can't spawn in Deep forest biome, and is very rare to encounter. After killing him player always gets: Dirty cursed box, and sometimes you can also get life crystals and gold coins.

On the picture Giant
zombie is small, but in game he is HUGE.

TIP: Hide somewhere, for example: under roof. He is so huge that he won't reach you under it

◈▹Underground - Worms

Worms from worm biome can be annoying for new players, the easiest way to mine safely without worrying about them is:

1.) Making hell elevator by using bombs

2.) Destroying Hexa blocks. Doing this helps a lot because if you destroy enough of them in your mining area then they will stop spawning

3.) Equip Nazar, Hexa armor or tome of worms. They makes player immune to the cursed debuff

◈▹Blood moon

◉.Zombie girl.◉

Zombie girl only spawn during blood moon and she is very strong. She summons Infected hearts, have 400 hp and inflicts suffocation debuff.

Infected heart stats:
▣ Health: 200
▣ Damage: 10
▣ Debuff: Blackout
Infected hearts sometimes regenerate health, like granite elementals

TIP: If you wants to kill her I recommend doing it either on your arena or by barricading somewhere and kill her through small hole.

◈▹Goblin army

Goblin army in terraria for me is annoying and there is no good loot from it, so on xS9 mod I didn't change those things. I made goblin army even more annoying than anyone could imagine it.


◉.Goblin airplane.◉
Goblin airplane spawns bombs every 2-6 seconds (I'm not sure and Im to lazy to count it again) which are destroying tiles. Killing Goblin airplane doesn't count to event progress.

Stats:
▣ Health: 180
▣ Damage: 100
▣ Debuff: Bleeding

Tips:
1. Don't fight goblin army in your house, it's not gonna end well. (Im 99% sure that, you gonna have to rebuild it )
2.Try focus on killing normal goblins. Like I said before killing Goblin airplane doesn't count to event progress.
3. Build your arena by using ropes and platforms. Bombs are falling through them.

◈▹HARDMODE mobs

Yes, there are mobs which only spawns on hardmode.

◉.Haunter.◉ (On the left side of the picture)
He shoots at player cursed flames
He inflicts venom debuff on player.

Stats:
▣ Health: 1000
▣ Damage: 70
▣ Debuff: Venom

◉.Warrior Spectrum.◉ (On the right side of the picture)
He shoots at player lost souls
He inflicts confused debuff on player.

Stats:
▣ Health: 1000
▣ Damage: 70
▣ Debuff: Confused

-------⚜▻Biomes◅⚜-------

There are 4 new biomes in my mod:
-Worm biome
-Blue shard biome
-The Kingdom
- Deep forest biome
Worm and Deep forest biome spawns naturally, The Kingdom and Blue shard biome you have to build by yourself

◈▹Worm biome

This is how mostly Worm biome looks like. You will see purple pentagons in the background and new music but you have to be very careful because when you will be on that biome in caverns level then colorful worms start spawning.

There are 4 variants of worms:
-Yellow
-Green
-Red
-Blue

All of them have the same ai and stats
----Stats---
Damage = 14
Defense = 4
Health = 200

Don't get hit by them, because they inflicts Cursed debuff on player

---Drop---
All of the worms drop worm dots, you can use those dots to craft various weapons, equipment and boss summoning item

There must be 500 hexa blocks around to make that biome active

◈▹Blue shard biome

Blue shard biome doesn't spawn naturally, you have to build it by yourself on underground level
This is example Blue shard biome which I build when I was playing on my mod


To make Blue shard biome active you need 400 Blue Shards

On blue shard biome spawns 2 cursed mobs:








Both of them drops important materials: Ball of randomness and Blue shard core

▣ Blue shard elemental (Mob on the left side)
Damage = 10
Defense = 100
Health = 600

▣ Blue shard golem (Mob on the right side)
Damage = 80
Defense = 30
Health = 1000

Don't get hit by them, because they inflicts Confused debuff on player

◈▹The Kingdom

The Kingdom biome doesn't spawn naturally, you have to build it by yourself on surface level

Currently kingdom biome can be only used as money farm, during day golden aggressive bird spawns which drop gold coins but at night knights of gold spawns.

To make The Kingdom active you need 40 Kingdom Bricks

This is example kingdom biome which I build when I was playing on my mod


To get kingdom bricks you have to craft the with 2 gold coins and 1 Gray brick nearby furnace, remember you have to have gold coins in your inventory, not in coin slots.

On The Kingdom biome spawns 2 mobs:

------Their stats-----
▣ Knight of gold
Damage = 14
Defense = 16
Health = 400

Don't get hit by it, because it inflicts Cursed debuff on player

▣ Golden aggresive bird
Damage = 200
Defense = 1
Health = 50

Don't get hit by it, because it inflicts Rabies debuff on player

◈▹Deep forest biome

Deep forest biome generates on surface, during day you can call it "Save zone", because only on it can spawn aggressive birds (VERY Rarely FBI Helicopters) and other terraria creatures, however during night you have to watch out, because boars can appear.


◉.Boar.◉
Boars have a lot of health (300) and they deal huge amount of damage (70). They are also charging similar to unicorn, and they inflicts Oozed debuff.

TIPS: If you wants to kill it easily you should do one of this things:

- build mini tower around 13 blocks and then kill it by using long/medium range weapon.

- dig a hole and then kill it by using long/medium range weapon or if you wants to kill it by using short range weapon, then dig small gap, so you will be able to hit boar, but it won't be able to get to you.

- Use high damage weapon and insta-kill boar

-------⚜▻Mini Bosses◅⚜-------

So in xS9mod every Boss have their summoning item but mini bosses don't, here you will find out how to encounter them

VERY ANGRY CACTUS

VERY ANGRY CACTUS, can be encountered only during sandstorm and blood moon at the same time. If you will be lucky enough you will see that suspicious cactus have been spawned, after killing it VERY ANGRY CACTUS will spawn. During fight with VERY ANGRY CACTUS you cannot be in any way higher than him, because he will insta kill you.

Amber slime raider

Amber slime raider can be encountered during daytime on desert, you don't have to kill any bosses to make him spawn.

-------⚜▻Bosses◅⚜-------

Here you can find how to craft every boss summoning item in my mod, even secret one (I will probably change it in the future)

I only will describe important bosses here (For example: Maxinator)

◈▹Slime raiders

Slime raiders, you should kill them before king slime / Eye of Cthulhu

◈▹Big worm

Big worm, you should kill it after King slime / Eye of Cthulhu

◈▹Ancient Statue

Ancient Statue, you should kill it after skeletron

◈▹Ginormous Eye of Cthulhu

Ginormous Eye of Cthulhu, you should kill it after Eater of Worlds / Brain of Cthulhu

◈▹Slime in cooking pot

Slime in cooking pot, you should kill it after Skeletron / Wall of flesh

◈▹Chicken with hat

Chicken with hat, you should kill it after Destroyer

You can get better loot for summoner, you have to get hit by one of the eggs (Egg will spawn after being hit by one of the chickens), then big chicken will spawn. After killing it you will get big amount of money and good summoner weapon

◈▹King of Ducks

King of Ducks, you should kill it after mechanical bosses

◈▹Secret Boss

Secret Boss you can kill after defeating destroyer, but I would recommend kill it with weapon which would kill him instantly

▣ Secret Boss default stats:
Damage = 1000
Defense = 3
Health = 100000

(I will probably rework this boss in the future)

◈▹Tom, plantera brother

Tom, plantera brother, you should kill it after Moon lord

In it's second phase it's impossible to kill all of the Plantera's Tentacle, they will respawn instantly after they are destroyed

◈▹Maxinator

Maxinator, you should kill it after Tom, plantera brother
In order to kill Maxinator you have to get Torn paper which drops from King of ducks and plant-scrap which drops from Tom, plantera brother

You doesn't wants to kill it nearby your town or other important stuff, because Maxinator in its first phase starts releasing big amount of bombs which can destroy tiles and furnitures

◈▹Living C4

Living C4, you should kill it after Maxinator.

Living C4 is last and hardest boss in my mod, if you wants to kill it you can only go to the right side of the map. This is the only way to kill it without using god accessories and weapons (1000000000000 damage weapons or 1000000000000 health accessories)

If you killed it in legit way (no god weapons or accessories), then you can clearly say that you are terraria veteran

-------⚜▻Friendly NPCs◅⚜-------

There are only 5 friendly NPCs: 1 town NPC and 4 traveling NPCs

◈▹King of ducks

King of ducks is town NPC which can come to the town if at least one of the players is holding crystal of shadow scales in vertebra (It can be bought from one of the traveling NPCs)


When player is talking to the king of ducks and is holding crystal of shadow scales in vertebra then the king of ducks can transform it into the royal scale

◈▹Traveling ducks

There are 4 traveling NPCs, all of them are ducks.

Shop of the traveling ducks can be changed only when you re-enter tmodloader

3 of them can visit your town by writing letter to them.

Basic materials which are needed to write a letter:

When you get those materials, then come to the guide NPC and give him envelope. Then you will see what do you need to complete the letter












1 of the traveling ducks can be summoned by using phone

So you've beaten terraria on xS9 mod. Try beating xS9 mod then, it's quite a challange to defeat all of the bosses.

◈▹True xS9 mod

So you've beaten terraria on xS9 mod. Try beating xS9 mod as I did on this rules:

1. You have to create new character on Hardcore difficulty

2. You have to create new world on master mode and random infection (You can choose which size of the world you prefer)

3. You cannot use any bugs which will give you advantage, even hoiks

4. You can't pause or quit the game when you are close to die

5. If you die, you have to delete your world and character and create new one.

◈▹Desert madness

You have to generate new world on which there will be only desert and 1 jungle biome. You cannot start on the jungle. This challenge is very hard to accomplish but it's do able.
