Mini-guide on how to create a lenticular sticker in CS:GO/CS2. The information will be useful to those who are already familiar with the creation of holographic stickers

Mini-guide "Creating a lenticular sticker"

To create a lenticular sticker in CS:GO, a holographic sticker template is used (and when loaded into the game itself):
1. Base texture
2. Holographic mask
3. Holographic spectrum


Next, we will analyze them in more detail:
1. Base texture. There is no need to worry too much here. For example, I set the eyes to black so that they darken at the edges and made the highlights of the eyes white. The most important immortal advice - organize folders and layers in Photoshop to make it easier to work!)



2. Mask. The holographic mask plays the most important role. In Photoshop, 3 alpha channels are created in advance.
RED - answers how brightly the holographic effect will be expressed
GREEN - corresponds to the direction of the holographic spectrum LEFT - RIGHT
BLUE - responsible for the direction TOP - DOWN


3. Holographic spectrum. By default in CS:GO this is a regular spectrum, but we can also upload our own spectra. For example, in my example there are 3 pictures in one spectrum. The holographic spectrum of ANY size is automatically divided into 255x255 pixels. Starts from the top left corner from 0 to 255.


4. Relationship between Holographic mask and spectrum.
As I wrote earlier, we have 3 channels Red, green, blue.
GREEN:
-In the eyes of the leopard and the snake, the direction set the gradient to gray colors from 89-166 (not a perfect square, but I fixed it by stretching the pupil in the holographic spectrum).
-In lighting the body of the snake, I used almost the entire direction of the spectrum from 15 to 245.


BLUE. Now it also calculates how many percentages certain pictures of the spectrum take from TOP TO DOWN (255 is 100%, so if my picture is 2048 pixels in size, then 8 pixels is 1 out of 255):
-In the eyes of the tiger calculated from 0 to 127;
-In the snake's eye from 128 to 205;
-Lighting direction of the body of the snake from 206 to 255.


5. Final. Now my holographic mask will show certain areas that have been limited to each alpha channel. due to the correct gradient in the GREEN channels, the eyes will only move in their directions.
