But yeah I see, it's interesting to see someone who actually attempts to study models from modern AAA games. Have dealt with plenty of models from various games myself through porting them to Source, I never really check or even notice how the models were built from ground up, let alone studying them, perhaps it's something I should also do as well, especially when I'm actually planning to model something by myself eventually.
Again, thanks lol, and glad to hear that :)

Sorry, I really don't mean to be harassing you or anything, but one of the main reasons I like to seek out assets from modern AAA games is to study them and see what industry standard models look like, in order to better my own 3D models. But upon taking a close look at this model in-game, something just felt a bit off. Otherwise, great addon! And as a G3 lover I'll still get a lot of use out of it!
About the problems you pointed out though:
1. The muzzle device doesn't really seem to have difference model. (for me at least)
2. The charging handle on G3 is foldable, it's just that the one in BF2042 have it folded out while this L4D2/Gmod port didn't.
3. Source is an old engine, therefore the newer PBR-based materials used in most modern games cannot directly apply onto the models in the Source Engine, so they'll have to be converted first. And different conversion method will result in different material outcomes, therefore they won't really look as the same as how they are in their original games, only how similar they can be.
Although there's a tool that can pretty much convert them as much as they can look like in their original games, as it's the same tool used by the MW Base SWEPs developers, it doesn't seem like the author of the original mod used it.

you can notice some differences between the addon and the screenshot from in-game. For one, the muzzle device is more bulky in Gmod, and the charging handle has the metal going through the rubber visibly, whereas the 2042 one has only rubber visible on the charging handle and the muzzle device is slimmer. There are a ton of other small differences too, but it leads me to think they're different models entirely, plus the materials are all different.
