GENERAL TIPS
LIDAR

Your LIDAR has two modes of fire. An area of effect spread blast with the LMB, and a more narrow direct stream with the RMB. The direct stream can be adjusted to widen or narrow the diameter of the stream.

The spread shot seems to be most effective for uncovering large swaths of the map.

The Monster
The monster will periodically show up as a red outline in your LIDAR. Fortunately, this is the only level in which you can respawn and continue to attempt to exit. Just be careful in the second and third section to not accidentally fall down a hole immediately after respawning when you're disoriented.


Friends
Your teammates and fellow backroom explorers will appear as a yellow outline in your LIDAR. However, the yellow dots will not move with them, and actually freeze in place giving the illusion your friend isn't moving.
PART 1 - EASY BUTTON PRESSING
The first section is fairly straightforward. There is a large door that is locked, and requires the pressing of three buttons scattered throughout.


There are three wires emitting from the door. Use your LIDAR to uncover your surroundings and track the wires. Follow the wires until you find large red buttons positioned on the walls.


The buttons will beep, and you can use geospatial audio to help track them down. Press "F" in front of the button to activate it.


Once all three buttons are pressed, follow the lines on the floor back to the large door. It should now be unlocked. Go ahead and head on through.


After a short hallway, you'll find a pit. It's safe, so go ahead and hop in to progress to the next area.
PART 2 - VISIT THE SCARY MUSEUM
The second section is similar to the first but more doors, and a puzzle to decode. There are three locked doors, with blue lines emitting in all directions.


When you drop down, ignore the locked doors for now as we have to press buttons to unlock them. Proceed to head into the level by following the three blue wires emitting from the area with the doors.



First and foremost, you have to locate three beeping buttons. They will be located on walls or pillars, with a red wire descending from the ceiling above.

Pressing a button will activate a nearby museum exhibit that displays one of three characters from the game, and a year below them on a plaque. Use your LIDAR on the sculpture, especially on the plaque containing the year, to fully uncover critical information. It's smart to take a picture so you don't forget.

The third statue is the bacteria entity, noticeable from it's wirey frame:

Apparently also the music does something? Somehow it's tied to a heartbeat noise beginning and you failing the level, but it's unclear...

Once you have pressed all three buttons, viewed the sculptures, uncovered characters, and matched them with a year, it's time to head back to the three large doors. They will now be unlocked, and all three lead to pits of death. Be careful and use your LIDAR to not fall in.

Behind all three holes will be paintings of characters from the statues you saw before. The correct years were the ones on the statues, and two of these paintings will be incorrect and not match the plaques from the museum.


Using the information you gathered from the statues, determine which painting has the correct matching year displayed on the painting.


THIS is the hole that will progress to the next area, and NOT kill you! Once you're 100% sure, go ahead and drop down the correct hole.
PART 3 - PITFALL PANIC
The final section will really get your eyes hurting.

Similar to the last two sections, you have to navigate around the area using your LIDAR. However, in this section there are a multitude of chasms to avoid. They are laid out in a grid, so once you find a safe straightaway it's harder to make mistakes. Just keep searching around, looking for new areas, and using your LIDAR to uncover pits.

Eventually, you'll begin to hear ocean sound effects. That means you're approaching the exit. Continue to safely look around, and you will uncover a yellow-ish exit door that leads to seemingly a beach. Go ahead and jump through the door, and you'll be home free and outta the backrooms!

Actually kinda sad it´s now the way it is... Like you can just braindeadly run towards the buttons and then take the path which match the same color with the monsters in a cube and thats it and then just run forward to the waterfall noise to reach the door to the Pool room.

Guide is no longer accurate. You should either remove it, privatize it, or edit it.

Just read the comments below. There are no more any codes. It´s old guide, now you just make the blue buttons and then you go to the 3 opened gates and just check the only color the monster have with the door. Now it´s just simple as that.

your guide does not add up no more, there are no years just 3 cages and 3 doors, cages are on the floor. i supose you need to find some sort of mistake in the patern. but i am having a hard time find the switches for the blue lines. i opend the 3 doors once but jumped down the wrong hole.

Just read the comments below. There are no more any codes. It´s old guide, now you just make the blue buttons and then you go to the 3 opened gates and just check the only color the monster have with the door. Now it´s just simple as that.

There is no red monster on this level. If you pay attention to your CPU percentage you'll notice that by using the LMB lidar (not burst) you will never see it. but if you use RMB (the burst) you can overload the LIDAR and that's when you get the glitch. There is no entity, and this is why you don't die, it is just a glitch caused by CPU overload. The reason your screen gets blacked out is because the CPU overload erases your memory. Take a look at the MEM reading right after the overload and you'll see that it has been reset.

Let's be frank here, this mission sucks. It is broken for me every time I get to it.
I click the red buttons, then the single red door opens. Then I see blue lines which I follow to more beeping buttons.

After clicking the blue buttons, the monsters show up and the colorful doors open. There are no numbers. The music is useless. Every 2 minutes an annoying red monster pops up and resets your LiDAR and screen.

I actually mapped the entire level with my friend and there are no portraits or pictures with numbers on them. No people to be found.

This level has successfully removed my interest in further play. I hope the devs can see that this is not working as intended before it kills the player base.
