Vassal color same as overlords

Description
This mod makes subjects the same color as their overlord similar to Victoria 3. Japanese daimyos are not included and they will have their original colors. The game will have the original color for vassals until after you choose a country to play.

Not ironman compatible.

I think it should be but is it compatible with post finem?

I've updated the mod with the suggestion that @limoneade provided, so colonization should work, as well as changing the code so that when a nation releases a colonial subject, the colonial nation retains the overlords color until they form a new nation (Mexico, Canada, Colombia, etc.) - (colonial nations don't have tag specific colors, so they would turn white). Also tributary subjects aren't colored anymore.

after read that, i just copy pasted the mod file's lines to the original file and works perfectly. thank you for the idea.

I think the problem with this might be that you deleted and replaced 00_on_actions. That file is highly important as it contains essential code for various hardcoded mechanics such as colonization. You should rework this mod and add the code to a copy of the base file. If you want to download this mod, don't, you will be playing a highly broken game.

same here. attempting to colonize makes the game CTD

I believe this mod causes your game to crash when attempting to colonise

I'm afraid it's not possible.

Would it be possible to make this iromman compatible? please excuse my ignorance on the subject.

I understand your concern, as I also thought that it would be better if a vassal had a slightly brighter color than it's overlord, but as Max has said that is much more complex and as this is my first mod, I don't have enough coding knowledge to do such a thing.

This mod makes the existing vassals at 1444 change color, but also any new acquired vassals throughout the game. Also if you release a vassal (ex. Bulgaria as Ottomans) they will also have the same color as it's overlord. If a vassal becomes independent, it will change it's color to it's original.

This is certainly not hard-coded as this became possible only in the newest update. In one of the dev diaries they added a new effect that modders can use that allows changing colors of nations in-game. They also added the ability to restore the color to original. As far as I know this was not possible before the 1.35 update.

Not entirely impossible but it'd be a huge feat... there isn't anything in the game that you could setup that could make an "off-color" of a country, that's just not how the game's code works unfortunately. You'd have to do something like that by hand, which is near impossible. Far too much work, not really worth it tbh. Also, if this works like other mods of the same type, it's retroactive, not hard-coded.
