Description
Hey guys- first mod as a bit of a training ground for me to be fair, but at least let's make something useful.
After doing one game with all soul-related tomes (aka necromancer), I really felt that things were overcosted in terms of Soul requirement; units, but also mostly tactical spells.
So this mod reduces on average all Soul costs by 20%, except for the late game spells & units. Note that casting points are left untouched.
It also makes the Soulbinding debuff from the strategic spell to last up until the end of the next battle of targeted army instead of the three next turns.

List of changes :

[Tome of Souls]
- Skeleton unit construction soul costs down to 7 (was 10)
- Bone golem construction soul costs down to 20 (was 30)
- Bone golem summon spell soul costs down to 6 (was 10)
- Soul fire tactical spell soul costs down to 10 (was 15)
- Soul overflow tactical spell soul costs down to 5 (was 10)

[Tome of Necromancy]
- Raise Zombie tactical spell soul costs down to 10 (was 15)
- Restore Undead tactical spell soul costs down to 10 (was 15)

[Tome of Great Transformation]
- Desecrate structure strategic spell soul costs down to 30 (was 50)
- Domain of Death strategic spell soul costs down to 50 (was 60)

[Tome of Reaper]
- Greater reanimation tactical spell soul costs down to 25 (was 35)
- Mark for death tactical spell soul costs down to 25 (was 35)

The mod is very simple but can have quite big consequences in terms of balance, if it appears that now Necromancer is OP I will be happy to revisit my values and try to find the best possible numbers.

Okay :steamhappy: so i guess you will start modding once all the expansion are out. I ll be waiting for this day ^^

Hello laneo and thank you very much for the kind words! So far I will be waiting a little, as the modding engine is fairly complicated and uneasy to use; I also don't want to create things which could be impacted by new expansions. But it's a real possibility in the future that I start modding this game, don't worry!

Hello Ayalin ! Happy to see you on AoW 4 as well ! Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do as for mods in the future for this game ? I loved your mods back on AoW 3 so i cant help but... wonder what sort of wonders you plan to create in this one ^^

If your talking about the SPT (Souls Per-Turn) upkeep for the Reaper unit; There is another mod on the workshop that fixes that bug. But as far as I know, no other unit is affected by that bug.

@shokk the german translation, at least, is sheit.
many words with double meanings got the wrong one...
for example: "The riches of your country" - gets translated into: "The rich people of your rural area"...

In other words, I don't even think that google would translate it that wrong xD

The only thing I wish this had would be removing the soul upkeep cost of necromancy units.
I understand the mana cost, but the soul upkeep doesn't make much sense from the base game.

I had a look into modding this but was repusled of how clunky the whole packeing thing was.
Thanks! i had the same feeling playing Necro.
For my Part i would have replaced all "basic" units with undeads and the Change for Bone Golem makes lots of sense as it balance both ways you get one out.
I fully agree with DarkLordcurly, Necro should be a snowball of mass cheap units but as of now it feels far too samy with the little gimik souls provide.
I would even suggest to have some low level raise dead spell that creates permanet units in battle.
