Renault ABJ (RENFE 9300/590 series)

In the 1930s, Spanish companies began to take an interest in diesel railcars, which had been used in Europe for a few years for fast services on non-electrified lines. But the economic situation did not allow placing an order, since the European builders refused to make models for Iberian gauge for very small orders, and none of the Spanish companies could order a large order. To solve this, the National Automotive Company was constituted by the government, which would mediate between the builders and the railway companies.
In this way, the companies NORTE and MZA jointly ordered ABJ-2 model railcars. This model, an evolution of the ABJ-1 used on the French railways, was characterized by having the radiators on the front of the cabins and not having original bumpers. The first units, those of the NORTE company (registered as the WMD 400 series), were received in the summer of 1935, being assembled in Zaragoza, and tests were carried out during that year. The railcars for the MZA, called the WD 220 series, began to be received in 1936, but the start of the Civil War meant that only one could be finished. After the war, the rest were delivered, and with the creation of Renfe, these ABJ-2s kept their original liveries during the 40s.
In the mid 50's, many of the ABJ's were reformed, adding conventional bumpers, multiple control system (the same as the ABJ-7), and renewing the exhaust system. On the other hand, at the end of the 40s, Renfe commissioned another order of railcars from Renault, but this time the SNCF model ABJ-4 was used, with a more powerful engine and mechanical cooling of the engine, located on the roof. of the automotive The first units of this series, finally renamed as ABJ-7 after the necessary modifications, were delivered in 1949 and registered as Renfe 9300. These ABJ-7s had a livery very similar to the one used by the old MZA, but it would soon be replaced by unified silver and green livery.
This mod adds the Automotive Renault ABJ 2 in the NORTH, MZA and RENFE versions (three versions) and ABJ-7 (three versions) to the game, with assets for decoration.
