HOW TO ALADDIN ? [OUTDATED]
By Fadar Le Pieux
You just bought Ravenswatch and you have no idea who to play ? You were fond of Robin William’s Genie, till you watched the French version ? You blown up your PC when your Jester missed his “Finale” ? You like bows in Hades, but not the Rama Aspect because it’s too easy ? So Aladdin is your very character !

Disclaimer : I’m far from being a good roguelike and moba player, and I haven’t reached the max difficulty level . I’m just giving some advice for newbies to enjoy a character a like !

MOVE POOL
Aladdin is a medium damage medium hp melee character. His main attack is a two-sword slash. He can also throw his blades with his Y, debuff enemies and buff his attack jumping over them with his B. His RT is a djinn invocation, charging a big uppercut to mobs.

Aladdin special trait is a three-times djinnia summoning. You have a gold and trinket invocation, un full heal and a mass zone damage.

The first one is not very useful : if you’re a compulsive farmer, you’ll be full-stuffed round 20 in game minutes. You can use it only if you’re on the rush, but if you have to you better worry…
The heal is quite useful, especially in multiplayer (I think, I only play solo…).
The third one is outstanding for the book timed quest, to clear sweep mobs in a blink.

Remember you have only three uses for this spell, so choose carefully, and don’t forget to choose : would be a pity to forget one and die against the nightmare…

The first ultimate of Aladdin grants him, for 150 gold, one trait charge. Can be useful, but not game breaking in solo : you can beat the boss without any trait charge.
The second ultimate is a carpet riding, that deals damage to ennemis on the way.
USUAL COMBOS
If you must describe Aladdin’s gameplay in one word, it would be “acrobatic”. Aladdin is a typical hit-and-run hero, less punishing than Scarlett human form but less efficient than her wolf form.

The best way to play Aladdin is the “Rashido Style” : you throw your blades through your fiend, jump with your B and recatch your blades, finally you slice. You can add a RT opener, to add some crowd control.

With this combo, I suggest adding Djinn’s Might (attack increase), Healing Blades (life-leech on Y), Acrobatics (B buffs more) and Spinning Strikes (attack buff after Y).
UPGRADES
Here are the more useful powers for Scarlett. For all upgrade and magical objects, refer to the Compendium + by Shotgun Crusader :

God-Tier :
- Djinn’s Might (quest : hit enemies with fully charged RT 20 times)
- Healing Blades
- Spinning Strikes

Very Good:
- Aerial Catch (quest : retrieve blades thrown with Y with your B 15 times) : defence buff and temporary shield.
- Djinn’s Fury : RT strikes three times.
- Dancing Blades : Y last longer

Useful :
- Swordjinn : Djinn can catch blades form Y
- Djinnia’s Gift : one more djinnia summoning and rarer upgrades
CONCLUSION
Aladdin, even he seems very powerful, is not your beginner friendly character (the main reason being you must unlock him achieving your first victory). Easy to play hard to master will be the catchphrase.

In my opinion, the hero does not shine in solo runs : if you're looking for a glass canon, Scarlett is much more stronger and satisfying to play. If you're looking for a no brainer, Piper and Beowulf are way less tricky. However, with such abilities, it may be a very fun support in multiplayer. If only I had friends…

I picked it up to play with it recently, I thought it was really fun. A combat style that I have used is hit, run, return to hit and run dvn, wait for the cooldown time and repeat everything again. And it definitely shines much more in co-op

Best with friends? You said 'hard to master', not 'impossible'!
