┌ Prehistory: The First (1/2)
Walkthrough
Pogo's Village
After gaining control of Pogo, wake Gori, our sleeping friend, up. Our current objective is to visit the Elder, but first, let's get some looting done. The village layout is pretty small and easy to remember. In this village, there are 2 main areas which I'll refer to as Area A and Area B. Please see the images below for loot locations among the 2 areas.
Area A 1. Stick 2. Hard Rock 3. Stick 4. Pelt 5. Stick 6. Bone Area B 7. Stick
Take note of the 2 locations that we can visit before visiting the Elder—A2 and B1. After looting items #1-6, head to A2 to play the mini-game enough times to earn enough crafting materials which we can use to craft at B1. Our goal is to win the ingredients to craft the following items in preparation for the rest of the chapter (entirely optional but highly recommended):
    1 Fertility Charm
    8 Rough Bands
    1 Wildheart Dress
    1 Wildheart Armor
    1 Fury Knife
    1 Quick Spear
    1 Beastskin Cap
    2 Laughing Masks
    2 Bang Gloves
To make all of the items above, we need:
  • 15 Bones
  • 10 Beast Horns
  • 9 Hard Rocks
  • 5 Dried Skins
  • 4 Pelts
  • 1 Stick
Head-counting Mini-game
Each win of this mini-game gives us 1 of each ingredient above. It's a very quick and very rewarding mini-game so even though it's optional, I suggest getting a few wins here to make our lives easier going forward. To play the game, simply pay attention to the 2 bubbles that pop beside the caveman's head. If he points at a # of cavemen, take note of the number and pick the hay pile that has enough cavemen divisible by that number (example: points at 3 bubble → pick hay pile of 9 cavemen which is divisible by 3). If he points at a Gori bubble, pick whichever pile Gori goes into. Easy! Upon winning for the first time, you'll get:
One, Two, Three, Many Win the head-counting game in the Prehistory chapter.
You can also keep skipping cutscenes and blind-guess if you don't feel like waiting. Win 14 more Bones from this mini-game (we already looted 1) so we can craft everything listed above and no longer worry about loot going forward.

Once you have all the ingredients, head to B1 to craft gear for Pogo, Gori, and a future party member who will be joining us shortly. You'll also get the achievement for crafting 10 times:
Make Good Lots Craft ten items in the Prehistory chapter.
  • Craft 6x Stone Knives → Bone + Hard Rock
  • 2x Leather Straps → Stone Knife + Pelt
  • 1x Fury Knife → Stone Knife + Leather Strap
  • 1x Fertility Charm → Stone Knife + Hard Rock
  • 1x Wildheart Armor → Stone Knife + Dried Skin
  • 1x Wildheart Dress → Leather Strap + Pelt
  • 1x Quick Spear → Stone Knife + Stick
  • 2x Bang Gloves → Dried Skin + Hard Rock
  • 1x Beastskin Cap → Bone + Pelt
  • 2x Laughing Masks → Dried Skin + Beast Horn
  • 8x Rough Bands → Bone + Beast Horn
After you are done crafting, immediately equip the gear onto Pogo and Gori:
Pogo: Gori:
Now we can proceed with the story! Now head to the Elder at B2, watch a scene, and then follow him towards B3 (North Exit). Following the curving path to the right and exit out onto the hunting grounds. Here we get a tutorial on how to use Pogo's sense of smell to hunt! Once it's his turn, use the button prompt shown in the tutorial to sniff/hunt. Upon a successful hunt, you'll get:
Sniff Sniff Use your sense of smell to hunt game in the Prehistory chapter.
Keep hunting until you get 3x Meat. You'll know you're done since you'll see Pogo will show a thought bubble with the Elder's face on it. Return to the elder, and then return to your room to sleep. In the middle of the night, you'll see that Gori is gone. Head over to B4 to find him sleeping on the kitchen floor. Looks like something is sneaking about as well! Wake Gori up, leave the room, and re-enter. Check the bone without any meat on it. Sus out the girl hiding in the piles of hay by poking at her until she pulls some shadow clone moves on you. When this happens, use your sense of smell to locate her. Grab one of the meat drumsticks and offer it to her. Leave the room and re-enter. Now that she's eaten, we can finally talk to her.

Her name is Beru and she'll end up joining us at this point.
IMPORTANT: Equip Beru with our previously crafted gear.
Now we'll try to sneak her into our place. Unfortunately, our room is blocked so let's return to B4. Grab the recently vacated haystack and use it as a disguise to help our new friend sneak past the guard and into our room. Head to bed.

The next morning, check on the haystack/Beru and go back to the hunting grounds to get some breakfast. I suggest leveling a small bit here. Pogo and Gori get small AoE skills at levels 3 and 5 respectively. Once you have some meat, bring it back to Beru. Head to B3 and then instead of curving right to the hunting grounds, talk to the caveman at the entrance. After the cutscene, head down to trigger some battles with some grunts and the boss—Zaki. This should be an easy couple of battles especially if you equipped Beru as suggested above. You should also have spare meat for healing if you hunted a bit more at the hunting grounds.
After the battles and some cutscenes, we'll get thrown out into the Wild Lands.
└ Prehistory: The First (2/2)
Wild Lands
Most of the enemies here are stronger compared to the hunting grounds. For the most part, you should be okay. Just watch out for the Mammoths and Tigers. The Mammoth has a 200+damage Pummel move that activates when within 1 cell. The Tigers have a counter move that hits between 120-150 damage. After a few levels, you should be on the safe side as Beru will soon learn a healing song and her Bam Bam Bam is pretty strong for a multi-hit attack as well.

Northwest of where we started, there is a roaming caveman that can also craft items for us. If you crafted everything earlier, we don't need to visit this NPC. However, we may be returning to that surrounding area for some optional content later. I suggest getting to level 6 or 7 since we'll lose access to Beru's healing after this area.

Once you're satisfied, head Northeast to progress the story. Enter the cave there and interact with the firepit. When you wake up, head to the Northwest exit for a boss battle/rematch with Zaki. This time it's a 1-on-1 battle, but Pogo should be slightly stronger compared to before. Use meat from the Wild Lands for healing in case of emergency. You'll fall down a hole at some point.

Wake up Gori and break the nearby wall. When you re-enter the dreamlike flower fields, just roam until you see Beru (I kept running North). Once you snap back to reality, use your sniffing ability to find a wall with Zaki's scent (around the North side of the room). The other clouds are either items or enemies weak to Burn Spark (Pogo's fire ability). When you find the wall in question, smash into it 3 times to proceed.

Keep following the path forward and you'll end up in an outside area that's winding to the left. Feel free to get a couple of levels here to get Pogo and Gori's shout abilities at level 9. There will be a crafting caveman NPC near the end. Head past the crafting NPC and into the cave. Welcome to Kuu Village!

Kuu Village
Approach the guard and immediately get turned back. Since the guard will deter us from entering normally, head right towards the cliff to trigger a cutscene with Gori. Looks like something has caught his eye! Head down back towards the entrance and not long after doing so, Gori apes his way inside the village. Looks like that prehistoric testosterone is good for plot progression!

Since Gori has cleared a path, make your way to the 3rd cave on the right. There are items we can loot here, but since we've crafted great gear already, feel free to just skip the looting. Find Gori in one of the rooms in this cave and talk to him 3 times to get him to rejoin your party. At this point, you can do 2 optional bits of content. I'm only gonna cover 1 of them because the optional superboss is not required for 100% achievements and is best reserved for a personal challenge run. For now, we'll aim to get an optional accessory.

Optional Accessory
First off, check your inventory and make sure you have at least 1 Bone. You should have one from all the battles you have done so far. Now backtrack all the way before the hole our party fell through and all the way to the wildlands. Just as you re-enter the Wild Lands, immediately turn left to find a head-shaped rock. Move in front of it until you get a button prompt and hit the interact button 100 times exactly and listen for a click sound which indicates you were successful. Afterward, run back to the Northwest portion of this area close to the crafting caveman NPC we ignored earlier. There should be a cave West of him. Enter this cave and offer up 1 Bone to the blue mirror in exchange for an accessory called a rock of rocks. This accessory will give you a hefty +50 to Special Attack. Minimal work for an awesome reward!
Video for reference (timestamps in the description):

Final Boss
Now that we've gotten our special accessory, backtrack all the way to where we convinced Gori back into our party. Head East from here, and keep trying to go North until you reach the sacrificial area shown at the beginning of this chapter. Prepare for 2 boss battles!
  • Zaki: Essentially the same as our previous encounter with him.
  • Odo: Very easy battle especially if you have a couple of levels under your belt along with the previously suggested crafted gear. Simply place Beru behind Pogo and Gori while spamming Sing Heal OR spam Sing Hurt (a very powerful ability) while the others supplement their HP with Bite and Meat. Zaki will join you in this battle for some inconsequential support.

  7. Weathered Garments

  9. White Clover
  10. Birdeye Speedwell
When you regain control of Shifu, check the Northwest corner drawers for 2 items—(#1) Weathered Boots & (#2) Qilin Boots. Head to the back room (the curtain door) and inspect the corner jars and drawers for (#3) 1x Red Bean Bun, (#4-5) 2x Pork Bun, and (#6-7) 2x Weathered Garments. That's it for items inside the cottage.
Head outside and a few steps left you can find (#8-9) 2x White Clover among a couple of weeds. This immediate outside area is Mount Aspiration.
Head west past the first sign and all the way to the left is (10) a tuft of Birdeye Speedwell.
Head Southeast from the last item and South to the next screen. Keep following the linear path in this next area until you see the second sign. There are 3 paths you can take which will each lead you to a prospective disciple. You can do them in any order, but for the purpose of this guide we will go West to the Bamboo Forest first.

Bamboo Forest
Item Checklist:
  1. Nature’s Providence
  2. Nature’s Providence
  3. White Clover
  4. Nature’s Providence
  5. Birdeye Speedwell
  6. Nature’s Providence
  7. Nature’s Providence
  8. Shepherd’s Purse
Before you continue, equip the Qilin Boots for the boost. None of the battles here are tough so we'll skip non-boss explanations. The first weed along your path, close to the entrance, contains (#1) Nature's Providence. The second weed has nothing. The third weed, just North after going down the ramp, has another (#2) Nature's Providence. West from here is a (#3) White Clover.
Further along the path, you'll come across a 3-way crossroad. Moving slightly north will trigger a boss battle, but let's go West first for 2 weeds containing (#4) Nature's Providence and (#5) Birdeye Speedwell. Head back to the crossroad and trigger the battle by moving forward and selecting option #2—I’m afraid I have nothing for you. This boss should go down in 2-3 medium-damage abilities. Nothing to write home about. Now that we're free to explore, take the Eastern branch of the crossroad for a (#5) Nature's Providence. Backtrack to the crossroad and go Northwest and just above a sign are 2 weeds containing another (#6) Nature's Providence and a (#7) Shepherd's Purse.
Backtrack all the way to Mount Aspiration and take the Southwest path to Wong Village.

Wong Village
There are no items to loot here but instead, we can help the villagers out by giving them the items they need. Thankfully, we looted most of these items from Bamboo Forest. Most of them will give us something in return.

Once you're done trading, save your game and head south toward the guard for a brief cutscene. Talk to the guard again and pick option #2—Pardon me. then get closer to trigger another cutscene and a subsequent boss battle. Shifu will fight alone but just like before, this battle is not tough. There are more enemies, but Wise Fox's Grace is a pbAoE (hits multiple targets in your proximity). Clean up the trash and pick your next choice carefully. Pick option #2—I'm afraid I must decline... and then option #1—Well, if you insist... to recruit the Nervous Youth. With that out of the way, head back to the Mount Aspiration crossroad so we can pick the final Eastern path we saved for last and arrive at Yunfa Market.

Yunfa Market
Just like before, there are no items to loot here. Proceed North through the street for a cutscene. Try to talk to the person blocking your path and it will lead to a choice. Option #1 results in you paying money in lieu of the criminal, and option #2 results in a battle. I chose the battle. This boss will have the most HP out of the 3 enemies you've faced so far but it's straightforward nonetheless. At some point, simply seal the boss' Martial Arts with Tiger and Dragon's Rebuke or Wise Fox's Grace and then the rest is history. If you want to minimize getting hit, utilize your pushing and retreating abilities so the boss wastes moves closing the gap. Once the battle has concluded, we automatically recruit our final disciple. Talk to the townsfolk for a few rewards.

├ Imperial China: The Successor (2/3)
In this next segment, Shifu will train up his chosen disciples (and increase their stats). Only the strongest will remain deeper into the story so to avoid wasteful actions, focus all your effort towards your chosen/favorite disciple.

Back at Shifu's Cottage, you'll engage in 3 back-to-back fights with your disciples. They learn moves that are used on them so try to mix up as many moves as possible during these battles. Once all 3 battles have concluded, you will get:
The First Painful Step Complete your first training session with your disciples in the Imperial China chapter.
After a cutscene, we then proceed to the focused training sessions. It's a series of 12 training battles spread across 3 days with cutscenes in between. As previously mentioned, pick a disciple to focus on as only the strongest will remain. I chose Hong because I have a soft spot... for soft spots. Each disciple has their own strengths/weaknesses:
  • Hong - Bulky/Tanky. Decent early AoE options.
  • Yun - Strongest single-target attack. Jack of all trades.
  • Lei - Strongest AoE attack. Only female option in the game.
Keep battling your chosen disciple until the 3rd day concludes. Hoi will then pay us a visit which prompts Shifu to intervene at Yunfa Market. At Yunfa, keep heading North until we meet a familiar face. Looks like we'll have to teach him a more permanent lesson. This boss battle will be just like in Wong Village. Use Wise Fox's Grace as needed to quickly take out the lackeys. Once the battle has concluded, talk to the townsfolk for a few rewards.

Head back home and check on your disciples. After checking on all of them, a solemn cutscene occurs. After demonstrating your greatest technique, leave the cottage and go North at the first sign. Follow the path Northeast to the summit and pay your respects. Afterward, head back to the sign near Shifu's Cottage and retrace the many footprints all the way to Bamboo Forest. This will lead you to the Northwest of Bamboo Forest and toward your main objective.

Indomitable Fist Fortress
Item Checklist:
  1. Weathered Boots
  2. Fuxi Feather
  3. Red Bean Bun
  4. Peach Bun
  5. Qilin Boots
  6. Soup Dumplings
  7. Peach Bun
  8. Peach Bun
  9. Pork Bun
  10. Bottle Gourd
Since the entire fortress is straightforward, I'll just show 1 condensed image of all the rooms that have loot for the sake of simplicity. They're pretty hard to miss.
All the battles in these preliminary rooms are simple and easy. Most enemies go down in 1-2 abilities. Also, keep in mind that depending on the disciple you chose, the timing in which they join will vary. Since I picked Hong, he ended up joining me at the last area that had items by means of a dramatic entrance.

Keep following the linear route until you reach the main hall where the main antagonist and his minions are gathered. You will have to fight through all of these groups of enemies before you can fight the final boss of the chapter. As a general rule, these groups of bosses almost never share the same weaknesses. A good example of this is Yi Xi being vulnerable to Hong's Pig's Feet (a kick attack) and Er Xi being vulnerable to Bear's Claws (a fist attack). You'll have a chance to prepare for these battles so go ahead and equip your disciple with all the gear you've collected throughout the chapter.
Take note that after each battle, you'll also have a chance to equip new gear some of the enemies may have dropped. Update your gear when given a chance.
  • Boss Fights 1+2: Nothing special, if your Shifu is weaker than the disciple at this point, make sure he does not get sandwiched between enemies. The second battle features bosses with different weaknesses.
  • Boss Fights3+4: Bulkier enemy archetype. It's a good idea to divide and conquer these guys instead of trying to wallop both at the same time. Boss Fight 4 features stronger versions of the 3, but the same approach should apply. Heal with Pork Bun if necessary.
  • Boss Fight 5: Feel free to unleash AoEs here. These sisters are not as bulky as the previous boss and can be dispatched in as little as 2 turns.
  • Boss Fight 6: While not particularly challenging, this lone old man can be annoying because I noticed he interrupts channeling moves frequently. Either use fast-channeling or instant moves. As always, don't be shy about using Pork Buns to heal because it's possible for this boss to act twice before Shifu can retaliate/heal.
After the penultimate battle, a cutscene will occur. We'll finally unlock the disciples true potential and an achievement shortly before the final bout.
Nothing Left to Teach Impart the ultimate technique to your disciple in the Imperial China chapter.
  • Final Boss: The final boss is a bit of a combination of all the previous bosses in terms of parameters. His abilities have a decent range, His HP pool is fairly large as expected of a final boss, and he can interrupt your channeled attacks. Use debuffs and don't be cheap with healing items. Unleash your new ultimate technique once the boss is around the 30-40% range for a photo finish.
Once the final battle has concluded, watch the emotionally charged yet satisfying ending. The whole gong sequence really reminds me of the epic ending of an old movie called Bloodsport. Look it up! Let the ending play out for the last achievement of the Imperial China chapter.
Keeper of the Legacy Complete the Imperial China chapter.
Twilight of Edo Japan: The Infiltrator
This chapter can be played in several ways branching a few different paths. You can attempt a no-kill run, a 100-kill run, or something in between. For the purpose of this guide, I'll highlight 3 key objectives:
  1. Collect 4 Koban Coins.
  2. Find and recruit the Mimic Mammet.
  3. Finish the chapter.
Note on these achievements:
Clockwork Companion: You can get this as soon as you have 4 Koban Coins. Past Gennai's Tea Room, there should be a slot for coins. Insert 3 coins and head South to the new room that will have the Mimic. Use the Main key that you should have gotten from Gennai to start a battle with the puppet. Once defeated, the puppet will join you and you'll be rewarded with the achievement.
Clockwork Companion Activate the Mimic Mammet in the Twilight of Edo Japan chapter.
Not Your Average Ronin: This achievement is unmissable. No matter how you approach the chapter, the only difference will be the timing in which the ronin joins you.
Not Your Average Ronin Befriend the prisoner in the Twilight of Edo Japan chapter.
Now You See Me: Soon after you gain control of Oboromaru, you'll get a tutorial on how to use your special technique—Shadowed Self. Tap the designated key to get:
Now You See Me Use the Shadowed Self technique in the Twilight of Edo Japan chapter.

I've asked for permission to share a full clean run of the no-kill approach recorded by @kstudiesdotcom on YouTube. Please note that this video is still extremely useful even when doing a mixed run since it reveals important locations—especially Koban coins. Everything is timestamped including the Koban coins, Gennai, the Mimic, and awesome loot. Huge thanks to Kstudies for sharing this masterful stealth run! Check out their channel! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgKxPQFjYy8 Upon clearing this chapter, you'll get:

The Wild West: The Wanderer
Walkthrough
A Small Town Called Success
Normally I would do a complete item checklist, but for this achievement guide and specifically for this chapter, I will simply list the essentials and anything picked up along that route.

Before you can really dive into this chapter, you'll have to go through a few cutscenes and a total of 2 stupidly easy battles. One is a duel with Mad Dog, and one is a quick battle against an Outlaw. Once you gain control of Sundown Kid, feel free to run around the town to get a feel for the layout (this will help with the next part). Now head into the Crystal Saloon and talk to the Barkeep. Pick option #2—Send it back and then option #2 again—Your mother's, maybe to initiate the battle with the Outlaw.
  1. Mad Dog - Win the fight by hitting him diagonally with 2 Hollow Point attacks. Sundown Kid will counterattack in between if done right and this will result in a quick 2-turn battle.
  2. Outlaw - 1 Hollow Point should do the trick.
After taking care of the Outlaw, tell the kid "I'm no saint" to progress the story. Head out for a showdown event, then at some point, you'll have a chance to talk to everyone in the saloon. Do so then talk to Mad Dog to receive a Sheriff's Badge and proceed to roleplay Magnificent 7 style!

This next segment has 3 key objectives:
  1. Collecting Trap Supplies
  2. Setting Traps
  3. Boss Fight
The first 2 objectives have a time limit (around 8 minutes). Completing these perfectly (for the achievements) will trivialize the chapter's boss by taking out all of his lackeys to your advantage.

Collecting Supplies & Setting Traps
Before we get started, take note that you need to set 9 different traps (Annie's Diary included) for the following achievements:
Preparing for the Big Soirée Have someone set a trap in the Wild West chapter. Bold as Brass Return Annie's Diary to Annie in the Wild West chapter. Rolling out the Welcome Wagon Prepare every possible trap in the Wild West chapter.
The 9 items needed are:
  • Slingshot (only Billy can set this trap)
  • Bottled Fire (Oil+Empty Bottle - only 1 needed)
  • Carrot (only 1 needed)
  • Barkeep's Beloved Poster
  • Dynamite
  • Rope
  • Shovel
  • Horse Sh!t
  • Frying Pan (only Annie can set this trap)
  • Annie's Diary (Give to Annie for Achievement)
  • Coal Tar

Once you're ready to head out, I suggest going outside in a clockwise motion. In the table above, I only marked the essential items and only the first instance of Oil, Water, and Carrot. You only need to turn in 1 copy of Bottled Fire and Carrot so looting more and turning extras into traps is a complete waste of time and does nothing to help you. I also marked down armor and weapons just so you can upgrade your gear before dawn breaks.

Make sure to talk to the Sherrif early and tell him you're done setting traps. Don't worry, this won't end the collection phase! All it does is allow you to send the townsfolk out to set traps early. That way you can use the entire time before dawn to both collect and set traps! As an example, you can get the Slingshot from Billy, talk to the Sherrif, and give the Slingshot back to Billy before even leaving the Saloon for the first time. While looting the Crystal Saloon, make sure to drop by Annie's room up top (in the middle) to trigger a cutscene before heading out.

Once you make a half-circle rotation or when you get the Frying Pan, consider heading back to the Saloon early so you can give the Frying Pan to Annie. Once she leaves, head to her room so you can get her diary without her stopping you. Once she's back from setting the Frying Pan Trap, give her the diary for a well-deserved slap on the face and an achievement!

Please refer to my video which has the timestamps for all the essentials in the description.

Finalizing Setting Traps (NPC Timers)
If you talked to the Sherrif early, you can set traps as early as before you even leave the Crystal Saloon for the first time. For the sake of making it easier on myself to remember which NPCs are fast, I avoided Delos (the middle musician) and the rest of the table except James (the bottom left NPC). Honestly, I only used the musicians because they were along the path I took while looting the saloon (ideally I would have used them only once). Use whoever you want, as long as you are aware of how much time is left and how long they take to set a trap. When you head back to the saloon after done looting, just use the fastest NPCs to finish off the remaining traps you've yet to set. See below for their trap timers both in table/image.

Boss Battle
If all traps are set correctly, the boss will be alone once dawn breaks. It'll be a stupidly easy fight where you can just spam Hollow Point and Sidewinder after moving a couple of tiles. The boss timestamp is also included in the video above. A little bit after the battle, Mad Dog and Sundown Kid will try and resolve their unfinished business which results in another duel. This duel with Mad Dog will be virtually the same as the first time you fought him. Simply use Hollow Point twice diagonally and Sundown Kid will counterattack in between. This should end the fight swiftly. After a few more scenes and heartfelt goodbyes, let the credits roll and marvel at this Magnificent 7 type of chapter!
Into the Sunset Complete the Wild West chapter.
Present Day: The Strongest
The Present Day chapter is a very short boss-rush type of chapter. Just like in Imperial China (or vice versa depending on which comes first), you learn moves by getting hit with it and surviving. Keep in mind you only need to learn 1 move for an achievement. Naturally, learning more will make the chapter's final boss easier. Additionally, you can learn the moves later by leveling up in another chapter. See the table below for all the learnable abilities associated with each boss:

* = To learn Worldbreaker's Wraith, use Armlock on Jackie to draw out the hidden move.

I started off in the order I listed the bosses in the table above. I chose Moribe first because I like the debuff utility of Celestial Palm and Fleetfoot found use in every battle as a ranged attack. The other bosses are also ordered in such a way that their moves benefit you in the subsequent fight.

Seishi Moribe
Simply walk up to him face-to-face to trigger his Celestial Palm attack. Since it is an all-around debuff attack, back away and heal with Focus to recoup your strength. Repeat the same process only this time stand approximately 2 cells in front of him. Fleetfoot has an L-shaped attack range (just like the Knight in Chess) so he's likely to use the move if you stay in that range. After your first move learned, you'll get:
What's Yours Is Mine Learn an opponent's technique in the Present Day chapter.

Namkiat
I started this battle by peppering Namkiat with 3 shots of Fleetfoot so that I can end the battle quickly after learning both of his moves. If you want to learn Lookpanjama Kick normally, move up to his torso level and wait for the attack. Alternatively, you can do what I did and attack him diagonally with Celestial Palm and he can counter with it. If it pushes you 1 extra square diagonally, he'll follow up with Spiral Knee which nets you both moves learned in a single sequence (see video below at 03:50).

The Great Aja
Aja will use Frankensteiner if you are diagonal to him by 1 cell. Heal up and back away then place yourself 2-3 squares from him and wait for Tornado Press. Once done, you can wreck him with a couple of Spiral Knee attacks which he's vulnerable to.

Tula Han
Attack Tula Han with Celestial Palm or Gale Strike (if you use Celestial Palm he's more likely to miss) so that he counters with Armlock. I believe kick attacks trigger a Cross Heel Hold counter but he also uses it as a regular move. Once ready to finish the battle, use Frankensteiner to crush Tula Han which deals around 240 damage due to vulnerability.

Max Morgan
It's harder to tell which move Max Morgan will use, so I stayed near his proximity and kept channeling heal until I successfully learned both Max Bomber and German Suplex. As you can see, both moves have a similar range. These moves hit hard so on top of channeling Focus when close to him, it's good to create distance, heal, and return as well. Take pot shots in between healing using Tornado press since it has great range.

Jackie Iaukea
To learn Jackie's first 2 moves, stay beside him until he uses them. He doesn't hit as hard as Max Morgan so it's easier to manage healing. I had no problems getting him to use Aloha Slap, bt took some time to get him to Mano Toss. I started using used wrestling moves in the hopes he would use Mano Toss and eventually he did. Once the first 2 moves have been learned, shave off his HP somewhere under 50% in case you need to end the fight immediately after taking a hit from his final move. Once ready, use Armlock on Jackie to disable his other Martial Arts abilities and force out Worldbreaker's Wraith. It should hit for 200+HP so make sure you have enough to survive it. Once you've learned the last move, feel free to use it back against him for a photo finish. After defeating him, you'll get:
Hail to the Champ Defeat the world's six greatest fighters in the Present Day chapter.

You'll be prompted to save without much time to celebrate. This is followed by a very predictable yet cool cutscene if you've ever watched anime with tournament arcs or played any fighting game. If you've learned all of the moves available, the boss after this cutscene should prove to be a joke. This boss DOES NOT have learnable moves so go nuts. I personally just played diagonally and kept spamming Worldbreaker's Wraith. Once he attacks me at my chosen position, it triggers a Cross Heel Hold counter which lets me relocate, heal, and then repeat the process all over again. With this joke of a boss defeated, watch the final cool cutscene and let the credits roll. After the WINNER text flashes, you'll get:
Here Comes a New Challenger Complete the Present Day chapter. Video for reference (timestamps in the description):
┌ Near Future: The Outsider (1/2)
Unmissable. Required to progress the story.
A Yen for Your Thoughts Read someone's mind in the Near Future chapter.

The Park
Once you gain control, feel free to try out your mind-reading powers. Take note of the empty food stall. We'll be returning here shortly. When ready, try and exit the park by heading East. You'll find yourself surrounded. Read the minds of bikers around you to trigger your first easy battle. Just bash the big baddie with Lawless.

Bright Spark Orphanage
Head inside. Make your way to the Northeast corner of the orphanage to find the bathroom. Check the Northeast corner, by the soap, for a Shampoo Hat.
  • Head towards the TV area and talk to the kid on the very left (Watanabe).
  • He's taking a while so go look for him by the first door left of the entrance and talk to him again.
  • Head to the TV to trigger an event.
  • Find your sister (leftmost room) to talk to her and read her mind.
  • Head outside to the world map.
World Map
The park is all the way West of the orphanage.

The Park
Once at the park, head to the food stall and help Lawless out. You can sell Taiyaki to each customer at 2 different price points:
  • Young Boy: 100/300 Yen
  • Girl: 300/1,000 Yen
  • Salaryman: 100/10,000 Yen
  • Old Lady: 100/10,000 Yen
Selling 1 Taiyaki at 10,000 Yen gets you:
Consummate Businessman Sell a taiyaki for 10,000 yen in the Near Future chapter.
Each sale gets you a reward from Lawless. Try and sell Taiyaki at least once for each price point to get a copy of every reward. You can exchange these with the kids at the orphanage soon for some items. Also, note that these rewards also double as healing items. Get as many as you want. Once finished, head back to the world map and into the brown wooden building nearby.

Timeless Wonders Antiques
Run up to the bathroom door beside the sink and use your mind-reading ability on it. Follow Dr. Tobei down the stairs to your left. Get on the doctor's contraption and it'll break. Now let's head back to the orphanage.

Bright Spark Orphanage
Head to Kaori's room. After a cutscene, examine the electrical socket left of the door to get a new party member—Taroimo! Talk to the doctor and read his mind once he's conscious. Head out of this room and head north to the kids' room. Talk to each of them and hand them the snacks you got as a reward in exchange for items:
  • Aki → Taiyaki
  • Misanga
  • Watanabe → Banana Crêpe → Cap
  • Yuki → Misawa Special → Power Wristguard
Where's Kazu? Go ahead and speak to Taeko in the laundry area. Once she vacates the washing machine, inspect it for a Matron's Crochet. Now use the toilet to the right of the washing machine and Watanabe will show up to give you a Pocket Lint. Keep repeating this sequence to get more items. Eventually, you'll get Taeko's Secret Stash. Now head outside to the front of the orphanage. Keep inspecting the hung laundry to your left until it no longer gives you items. Kazu will be on your right. Give him a snack for the sake of fairness.
  • Kazu → Guts and Glory Special → Baseball Glove
Once that's done, head back to Dr. Tobei.

Timeless Wonders Antiques
Head to the basement to find a passage that leads deeper underground. Keep heading down until you reach the bottom. Talk to Dr. Tobei and pick Hell yeah! then head back all the way up to talk to the doctor again. Follow the doc's instructions to the tee:
  1. Examine the pink elephant.
  2. Read the book by Dr. Tobei.
  3. Play the Xylophone.
  4. Examine the blue mask.
  5. Approach the Steel Titan and pray.
  6. Wash your hands.
  7. Use the toilet.
This whole sequence leads you to a control panel related to the Steel Titan. Examine the 5 switches in front of you, then talk to Dr. Tobei to head back up. At this point, we can now talk to Dr. Tobei to upgrade various items in our inventory. Keep doing this until you are satisfied. I suggest upgrading the Napalm Grenade to something else such as the Showa Goldfish Launcher. At some point, you'll get:
Great Scott Inspire Doc Tobei to invent something amazing in the Near Future chapter.
Once finished, head back to the orphanage. Before you even make it all the way inside, a commotion will occur. Head outside and read Taeko's mind then proceed to battle some goobers. Afterward, a bike chase will ensue which leads you to the City Docks.

City Docks
Keep following the objective waypoint on the mini-map until the kidnappers finally head South. Head down for an easy boss fight. After the battle, read the enemies' minds and then talk to Lawless and read his mind too. This clears up our next objective. Once ready, head out back to the World Map and go East past the bridge towards the research facility.

Tsukuba Research Facility
This place is smaller than it lets on. Here are the items you can find inside the lockers of each area:
  • NW2 (take the first escalator up)
    • Throwing Knife
    • Frag Grenade
  • NW1 (East past the reception)
    • Throwing Knife
    • Frag Grenade
  • SE1 - Center Room (the room with the guard)
    • Throwing Knife
    • Napalm Grenade
  • SE1 - Center Room (same place but in the back room)
    • Frag Grenade
    • 100 Volt Laser
    • Throwing Knife
    • Frag Grenade
    • 100 Volt Laser
  • SE1 - Eastern Room
    • Napalm Grenade
    • Napalm Grenade
    • Napalm Grenade
    • Plasma Spark

└ Near Future: The Outsider (2/2)
Since there are no more items to loot. Just follow the objective waypoint until you reach a long hallway full of green suits. Fight your way through here all the way to the leftmost door. In this Research Lab, head to the deepest part of the backroom to find a scientist who knows the VIP password to the next area. Read his mind for the password (F49F) and proceed to use it on the middle door along the long hallway.

After a long-winded cutscene, you'll get into a fight with W1. Simply have Akira rush behind this unit and hit it with an Elbow Strike to trigger a Vaporize counter and immediately end the battle.

Bright Spark Orphanage
After some cutscenes, leave the orphanage and head to Dr. Tobei's place. Read his mind and then head for the bar just north of the orphanage.

Matango Bar
Find Lawless (Matsu) and read his mind. Head back to the orphanage.

Bright Spark Orphanage
As you get closer to the orphanage, you'll witness a horrific event. Talk to the Matron and head inside. Make your way to Kaori's room to find Taeko. Talk to her and proceed to check all the ? spots in the orphanage. Once done, head back to the orphans' room just to the right of where you initially found Taeko. Talk to Kaori here and read her mind to trigger several cutscenes which culminate in you controlling the Steel Titan.

Steel Titan
As the Steel Titan, make your way to the shrine North of everything. You'll have to battle your way to get there but thankfully the Steel Titan is overwhelmingly powerful. I suggest taking the shortest path to get to your destination because there doesn't seem to be any benefit to defeating every last mob. Once you are close to the shrine, all other undefeated enemies will dissipate. After another long-winded cutscene, prepare for a super awe-inspiring Kaiju battle! It's pretty hard to lose this fight but if you want the upper hand faster, wedge yourself into the top right for the right positioning to keep spamming Babylon Stomp. Bonus points if you finish this battle with a stylish Halogen Laser. ABSOLUTELY EPIC!! Once the credits finish rolling, you'll get:
The Kids Are Alright Complete the Near Future chapter.
Distant Future: The Mechanical Heart
This chapter mostly involves traveling back and forth between the various floors of the ship. The only combat you'll experience here is the final boss and the Captain Square arcade game. You'll also have access to the map at all times so navigation is a breeze.

Once you are satisfied, head back to Darthe and serve him some bitter coffee.
The Heart that Bleeds Complete the Distant Future chapter.
┌ Middle Ages: The Lord of Dark (1/2)
NOTE: Looting Treasure Chests
This chapter is unlocked after completing the previous 7 chapters. Somewhat similar to Chrono Trigger, patience is rewarded in this chapter. By forgoing looting in the Middle Ages, the loot gets upgraded in the Final Chapter. For the sake of simplicity, loot only what's mentioned in this section and/or from defeating enemies.

Lucrece Castle/Town Square
  • Start the chapter completing 3 easy battles.
  • Keep heading South from Lucrece Castle until you reach the Town Square.
  • Talk to everyone in the square to receive various gifts.

Hallowed Wood
  • Head Southwest until you reach a fork. (NW = Hero's Rest/SW = Fugalia Village)
  • Pick the Southwest fork to reach Fugalia Village

Fugalia Village
  • Make your way to the leftmost part of the village.
  • Loot all the sparkling yellow flowers for Balmgrass.
  • Go into the nearby house on your left and inspect the shield on the wall.
  • Leave the village. Backtrack to the fork and take the other path to reach Hero's Rest.

Hero's Rest
  • Loot the sparkling yellow flower near the entrance for some Balmgrass.
  • Take any path to reach the summit. Streibough will comment on your next destination.
  • From the summit, go Southwest to find a lone hut. Talk to the Hollow-eyed Hermit outside.
  • Follow him inside the hut and inspect the familiar-looking shield.
  • Make your way back to Fugalia Village.

Fugalia Village
  • Head back to the leftmost house to inspect the shield on the wall.
  • Uranus will join the party. NOTE: You can now take the shield from the wall.
  • Go into the nearby house on your left and inspect the shield on the wall.
  • Head back to Hero's Rest.

Hero's Rest
  • Head back to the lone hut for a cutscene.
  • Try to leave and we'll get a new party member—Hasshe. Note that Hasshe joins at level 10.
  • You can now take the shield from the wall.
  • Since Hasshe is at a higher level, it's a good idea to swap some of his gear with Oersted.
  • Head to the summit and obtain the Brion after a cutscene. Equip it on Hasshe.
The Hero's Vow Obtain Brion in the Middle Ages chapter.

Hallowed Wood
  • Backtrack to the fork, look for a bridge, and cross it.
  • Shortly after crossing the bridge, there's a side path leading to 2 Joshua Tree Seeds.
  • Along this path there is a lone sign. Before the sign, you'll find 2 paths leading to some loot.
  • The North path leads to a lone Joshua Tree Seed.
  • The East path leads to 4 Joshua Tree Seeds.
  • Now head back to the lone sign and into Archon's Roost.

Archon's Roost
Remember to NOT loot anything in here in preparation for the final chapter.
  • At the first fork, head West until the next fork, and then the West stairs into the next area.
  • In the next area, take the first path on your right and ignore the staircase leading up.
  • Take the stairs down and keep heading East until you find the door to the next area.
  • Head through the door in front of you.
  • Take a left at the first fork and ignore the first door. Head all the way West into the next area.
  • Head through the door in front of you.
  • This area is a circular staircase. Follow the right stairs all the way until we meet the Lord of Dark. This is another easy battle. Just park Hasshe and Oerstead in front of the boss while the other two attack from behind. Use Hasshe's Archon's Mark for massive damage.
  • After some tragic events, head back to Lucrece Castle with 2 fewer party members.
  • There's a shortcut left of the lone sign that leads to a traversable shallow-flowing river.
└ Middle Ages: The Lord of Dark (2/2)
Lucrece Castle
  • Talk to the King and after the cutscene:
Triumph and Tragedy Defeat the Lord of Dark in the Middle Ages chapter.
  • Head West from the King to find your bedroom. Interact with the bed to rest.
  • After waking up, leave your room and battle the shadowy figure along your path.
  • After unfortunate events unfold, leave the castle all by yourself and head to Fugalia Village. Be careful along the way. If you encounter a Green Knight, it can hit you for 100+ with its moves. Desperation can even hit for 200+ damage. Keep your distance with Wind attacks if you have yet to unlock Dragonsoul (Level 9).

Fugalia Village
  • Talk to the boy outside the first house. Follow him inside.
  • After talking to his family, make your way back to Lucrece Castle.

Lucrece Castle
  • As you approach the town's entrance, you'll trigger a cutscene.
  • You find yourself in a dungeon. To your left is Uranus so walk left to speak to him.
  • After a few cutscenes, battle your way out of the dungeon. It's time to revisit Archon's Roost.

Archon's Roost
The pathing we have to take during this second visit is essentially the same. The only difference is that this time around, there will be boss encounters at various checkpoints/doors leading up to the end.
  • Claustrophobia - Spam Wave Slash
  • Scotophobia - Weak to Slash attacks. Spam Shardfall.
  • Acrophobia - Rush and defeat Acrophobia to overpower the Acrothrall minions.
  • Hygrophobia - Stick to the boss and spam Crushing Blow.
  • Final Boss - Spam Heavenly Strike. Don't sit on Lightning tiles.
After being enlightened by the chapter's final cutscenes, we get much more insight regarding the recurring themes and similarly-named bosses in the previous chapters played.
Hatred's Coronation Complete the Middle Ages chapter.
┌ Final Chapter Breakdown
The Final Chapter appears after completing the 7 initial chapters plus the Middle Ages chapter unlocked after. It can be broken down into 2 distinct parts (with further subsections):
  • Oersted Route
    • 2 Endings
      • Clean Slate
      • Armageddon
  • Protagonist Route
    • Recruitment
    • Optional Looting
    • Trial Dungeons (Ultimate Weapons)
    • 5 Optional Bosses (reference video under Death Prophet category)
    • 3 Endings
      • Incomplete Destiny
      • Let They Without Sin
      • United in Defiance of Hate
└ Chapter Recommendations
Some recommendations for the achievements in this last chapter:
  • Complete Masrau's Trial Dungeon before visiting Pogo's Trial Dungeon. The Golden Topknot can be found there which you need to Face Lucretius in the Trial of Instinct. You can also loot it from Archon's Roost, but looting it in the dungeon requires less backtracking.
  • Recruit Cube last. Cube doesn't get levels, but you can still get the parts to upgrade him even if he hasn't been recruited yet. This makes him the best candidate to leave out as you do the achievement An Incomplete Destiny.
  • Flee a little bit in each Trial Dungeon so that you only have a little bit to go to encounter Death Prophet when you are close to the end of the game.
  • After defeating all optional bosses, equip 1 piece of Cosmic Equipment on each member.
The Dominion of Hate: Oersted Route
Choosing Oersted as your protagonist in the final chapter provides an alternative experience and end to the game. The whole route/chapter is pretty straightforward. It consists of replaying the various bosses in each of the initial 7 chapters. Upon starting:
The True Design Play the Dominion of Hate chapter.

After the opening scene, make your way to the statue room in Archon's Roost. This is where the bulk of the chapter will be resolved. Each statue replays the battles from previous chapters only this time, you get to play as the antagonist. In any of these battles, you can initiate Armageddon in place of the Flee command any time your HP gets critically low. This nets you:
A Clean Slate Use the Armageddon ability in the Dominion of Hate chapter.

Believe in Me requires you to win all 7 battles without the use of Armageddon. The battles are absurdly easy, but it's still possible to lose in some of them if you get careless:
  • Spam Binding Unity against the Steel Titan.
  • Gamahebi is moderately healed by Poison Tiles.
  • O. Dio's Gattling Barrage is basically a 1HKO to both opponents.
Believe in Me Embrace vengeance in the Dominion of Hate chapter.
┌ The Dominion of Hate: Final Chapter
This next part of the final chapter is initiated by picking any of the 7 original protagonists. The character you pick will be set as the lead of the party. You won't be able to swap them out so choose carefully and consider their initial inventory and strength level. The sections below also group the characters with their appropriate Trial Dungeon, Ultimate Weapon, and any optional boss associated with their respective Trial Dungeon.

The Joshua Tree Seed locations from the Middle Ages chapter are the same. Do note that there is a large patch of replenishing Balmgrass where Pogo can be recruited.

Fugalia Village
The Balmgrass locations are also the same.

Hero's Rest
  • Brion found at the Summit . Check the gravestone.
  • Balmgrass can be found near the entrance (lone sparkling yellow flower).
  • The item to activate Cube is roughly East of the lone hut (sparkling green point). Its name will change depending on who picks it up. This is the only mandatory item from this category if you intend on going for 100% of the achievements.

After recruiting 4~6/7 Protagonists - Archon's Roost
Looting this place is straightforward. We already know the path to the boss, so it's just a matter of checking all the other possible paths for loot. These divergent paths are neither long nor many. Please note that the 3rd area has the one of the 2 available Golden Topknots in this chapter. It's required to battle Lucretius for an achievement.
  • Alice Biscuit (Area 1)
  • Shroud of Demons (Area 1)
  • Fujin Scroll (Area 1)
  • Unicorn Horn (Area 2)
  • Enma Charm (Area 2)
  • Shroud of Demons (Area 2)

  • No. 9 Potion (Area 4)
┌ Masaru → Trial of Power → Champion's Wraps
Masaru can be recruited in the Prison/Dungeon of Lucrece Castle. Depending on the protagonist you selected, you may have to battle him before he joins you.

His associated Trial Dungeon is the Trial of Power. It is located along a hidden path East of the last signboard just before Hero's Rest. Apophisphilo will be guarding the entrance. This boss is weak against kicking attacks. Once defeated, it's a simple path straight to the Champion's Wraps.
Power's Glory Obtain the Champion's Wraps in the Trial of Power.
You won't be able to loot any of the treasure chests on the side until you've picked up Masaru's Ultimate Weapon. Please note that this dungeon has 1 of the 2 copies of Golden Topknot available in this chapter which is a pre-requisite to fight Lucretius in Pogo's Trial Dungeon.

Item Checklist

  • Demon Blood Armor
  • Golden Topknot
  • Empty Chest
  • Amethyst Shield
  • Glove of the Goddess
  • Charioteer's Boots
  • Empty Chest

├ Akira → Trial of Heart → Guts and Glory Glove
Akira can be found on the West side of Fugalia Village sleeping on a bench. You'll have to fight him if you say you don't trust him.

To reach his Trial Dungeon—the Trial of Heart, you'll need to keep using Teleport until you randomly get sent to the dungeon. IMPORTANT: This is a single-visit location! Once you take the blue portal that appears after picking up the Guts and Glory Glove, you will no longer be able to return. Feel free to explore the dungeon fully while Teleporting out of battles as you search for the remaining treasure.
Heart's Potential Obtain the Guts and Glory Glove in the Trial of Heart.

  • Demon Blood Armor
  • Coral Ring
  • Holy Water
  • Guts and Glory Glove
├ Oboromaru → Trial of Keys → Murasame
To recruit Oboromaru, inspect the sign just before Archon's Roost. He will ambush you and offer to join once you defeat him in battle.

His Trial Dungeon, the Trial of Keys, is located in the Seat of the Betrayer. It's the residential area just before entering Lucrece Castle. There are 4 entrances to the Trial Dungeon in the Seat of the Betrayer. To reach Oboromaru's Ultimate Weapon, you need to pick up 4 keys related to the Four Symbols of the Chinese Constellation. These constellation keys unlock 4 gates leading to Murasame.

The chests containing the constellation keys (as well as the other loot) in this place are mostly behind locked doors. Battling ninja-type enemies called Shadow will drop Rusted Keys that open said doors. This is a good Trial Dungeon to add to your 100 Flee count as you search for Shadows (search for Death Prophet below).
Keys' Reward Obtain the Murasame in the Trial of Keys.

Item Checklist
  • Key of Suzaku
  • Key of Genbu
  • Key of Seiryuu
  • Key of Byakko
  • Castella Cake
  • Parasite Sword
  • Murasame
├ Shifu → Trial of Skill → Nunchaku of the Master
Shifu can be recruited at the Hero's Rest Summit. If your Shifu is Hong, you'll have to feed him several times before he offers to join you. You can farm replenishing Balmgrass to feed him from Pogo's recruitment spot.

His Trial Dungeon, the Trial of Skill, can be found in Hero's Summit. There will be a breakable boulder Northwest of the first area. I recommend visiting this place after getting some levels from other Trial Dungeons and getting Shifu to 16. The dungeon will have several boulders inside that can be broken using specific moves in Shifu's skillset. It's pretty simple to brute force this dungeon, but if you need assistance breaking the rocks I suggest looking up TheHeroOfLight's video on this trial.
Skill's Proof Obtain the Nunchaku of the Master in the Trial of Skill.

├ Pogo → Trial of Instinct (Lucretius) → Great Stone Axe
Pogo can be found in a respawning flower field of Balmgrass just South of the bridge in Silent Wood. You'll have to play a very easy game of hide and seek with him before he joins you.

His Trial, the Trial of Instinct, can be found in the first area of Hero's Rest. Head Northeast of this area and look for a hidden pathway that leads to a wall that Pogo can break with his thick skull.
Instinct's Prize Obtain the Great Stone Axe in the Trial of Instinct.
Note that you need at a Golden Topknot (found in Masaru's Trial Dungeon or Archon's Roost) before you can battle Lucretius. Once inside, look for 2 frozen statues of people which means you are on the right path. Follow along and once you reach an area overlooking an underground lake, take the left path and stay left until you reach Lucretius.
Fisher of Ornery Fish Defeat Lucretius.

Item Checklist
  • Alice Biscuit
  • Unicorn Horn
  • Bird-of-Paradise Tailfeather
  • Great Stone Axe
├ Sundown Kid → Trial of Time (Jaggedy Jacks) → .44 Magnum
To recruit Sundown Kid, you'll have to interact with him in various locations. On the 6th attempt, as you leave Lucrece Castle, he'll confront you on why you're following him and offer to join.

To find his Trial Dungeon, the Trial of Time, make sure he's in your active party. Next, proceed along the main path East from the bridge. You'll then encounter a horse that will run off. Follow this horse inside a hidden South-branching path to find the dungeon's entrance. If you are having trouble finding the path, hug the Southern edge of the main dirt path.
Time's Testament Obtain the .44 Magnum in the Trial of Time.
Every 10(?) seconds in this dungeon, the lights will become dimmer. This will keep repeating until it goes completely dark. At this point, you will automatically face the Jaggedy Jacks. If you want an easier time exploring this place, kill the optional boss first so that the darkness subsides. Make sure to focus fire one Jaggedy Jack at a time since they tend to use Lightning Tiles to heal when low. Focusing one one at a time will make your life a lot simpler.
Denizen of the Dark Defeat the Jaggedy Jacks.

Item Checklist
  • Fertility Charm
  • Eye of Argos
  • Holy Water
  • Magicked Wood
  • Charioteer's Boots
  • .44 Magnum
├ (SAVE) An Incomplete Destiny
Make sure to save before confronting the boss! We will reload the save after to recruit our final member and obtain the remaining achievements. As previously suggested, this section comes before the Cube category. Cube does not miss out on experience points because, unlike the 6 other protagonists, he does not gain levels naturally. This makes him the ideal candidate to be withheld for the following achievement:
An Incomplete Destiny Complete the Dominion of Hate chapter without befriending all potential allies.
With 4~6/7 of the protagonists recruited, run up all the way to the end of Archon's Roost to confront the chapter's boss. See the Purity of Odio category below for more information about the fight. After winning the battle, do not deliver the killing blow and walk away. Head down to the statue room and proceed to win all of the battles and you'll get An Incomplete Destiny.
└ Cube → Trial of Wisdom (Euraokos) → 17nm Diode
To recruit Cube, you'll need to first find the glowing green spot in Hero's Rest (shown in the Optional Looting section above). The item you get from this spot will be named differently based on who your protagonist is (mine was Metal Box). Next, head to the spot where the princess got kidnapped in the Middle Ages chapter. Cube will be deactivated on the right side corner. Use the aforementioned item on him to bring him back to commission and he will offer to join.

To find his Trial Dungeon, the Trial of Wisdom, simply enter any of the 2 houses in Fugalia Village. There will be 3 puzzles of note in this dungeon:
  1. Checkered Floor Room
  2. Mirror Room
  3. Orb Room

Checkered Floor Room
Simply head North through this whole Checkered Floor Puzzle Room. Passing through each section will invert some or all of your controls.
  • 1st area - inverts horizontal movement
  • 2nd area - inverts vertical movement
  • large/final area - inverts all movement

Mirror Room
For this section, you basically mirror the direction of the mirror cube to proceed.
  • 1st area: → → ↑ ↑ ↑ ← ← ↑ ↑
  • 2nd area: → ↑ ↑ ← ↑ ↑
  • final area: → → ↑ ← ↑ ↑ → → → ↑ ↑

Orb Room
In this 3rd and final puzzle, all you have to do is touch the orbs in this section in a clockwise fashion. Starting with the ↗ Northeast, ↘ Southeast, ↙ Southwest, and ↖ Northwest. Finally, touch the orb at the bottom to reach the Ultimate Weapon.
Wisdom's Gift Obtain the 17nm Diode in the Trial of Wisdom.

Once you've cleared the dungeon for the first time. Re-enter it and make your way back to the large area of the Checkered Floor Room. Euraokos will be waiting for you in this area.
Seeker of Forgotten Wisdom Defeat Euraokos.
┌ Archon's Roost (Death Prophet & Headhunter)
With every other objective out of the way, we can now make our way to Archon's Roost. Hopefully, you've been fleeing every now and then since the Trial of Keys. To encounter the Death Prophet, simply flee 100 times. You can technically meet him anywhere, but it just makes sense to finish him off as you are about to end the chapter. On your 95th successful flee, you will be taunted by a voice that will urge you to flee 5 more times. After the 100th successful flee, you'll immediately be thrust into a battle with the Death Prophet. Use multi-hit attacks to chip away at his health. I recommend Sundown Kid and Pogo.
Arbiter of Destined Death Defeat the Death Prophet.

With that out of the way, let's find the final optional boss! Make your way to the very end of Archon's Roost. When the Lord of Dark finally introduces himself, simply turn back and run away. You'll be sent into a different space and encounter the Headhunter while heading for the objective. Just like last time, use Sundown Kid, Pogo, and their busted ultimate moves.
Temptation of the Void Defeat the Headhunter. VIDEO REFERENCE FOR ALL OPTIONAL BOSSES (timestamps in description):

On top of all the achievements for the optional bosses, you should now have 5 pieces of Cosmic Equipment. Equip at least one of them on each of your 4 members to block Petrify.
├ Odio → Purity of Odio (SAVE)
Unfortunately, after defeating the Headhunter we will be sent back to Hero's Rest Summit. With all of the optional bosses defeated and at least 4 of the Cosmic Equipment equipped, it's time to make our way all the way back to the Dark Lord. There are 2 phases to this battle:

Phase 1
In this phase, avoid accidentally hitting the Brow of Odio. It's basically invincible and will heal and full buff its full team in retaliation. Other than that, it's a straightforward battle. If you are low, do not hesitate to group heal or map heal. If you cannot avoid dying, try to die outside of a poison/lightning tile because those will finish off your protagonist while incapacitated. If you do die on one of these tiles, make every effort to revive right away with healing (unlikely though). The only item that can reliably save you in that pinch is the No. 9 Potion which is a full map heal.

Phase 2
After killing the 2 Eyes and Maw of Odio, the Purity of Odio will come forth. This one has no weaknesses and no resistances so it's just a matter of pelting it with your strongest/most reliable attacks. It periodically interrupts casting combined with moderate damage so mind your HP.

SAVE ALERT
After defeating the Purity of Odio, you will be presented with a choice to finish off Orestead. Say NO first so you are given an opportunity to save!
├ Let They Without Sin
After saving, finish Oersted off. This leads to a quick duel and one of the bad endings.
Let They Without Sin Grant the fallen hero's wish after defeating the Purity of Odio in the Dominion of Hate chapter.
└ United in Defiance of Hate (100%)
Reload the recently created save and this time around, do not finish Oersted off. Walk away and back at the statue room, you'll enter a long cutscene and proceed to fight all the bosses from the previous chapters (except the Middle Ages). They will be weaker in comparison to when you first fought them because you would have gained a few levels on everyone in this final chapter.

After the boss rush, prepare to face the Sin of Odio! This boss/path to the true end is only available if you activated/interacted/recruited all 7 protagonists. This boss is also pretty easy partly because there are no major gimmicks and it's a plot-driven battle. It's still possible to lose though. Start off by using Balmgrass on everyone to prepare for a strong first strike. If you have Spirit abilities (such as Shifu's Ultimate Move), use them on the Arms of Odio. My Shifu my main lead at level 20 and I gave him some gear to boost his Special Attack (for his Ultimate Move) so combined with Balmgrass, it was an easy 1HKO to the arms.
After dealing with the arms comes the core—the Sin of Odio. It is weak to Divine abilities. After dealing enough damage, some scripted events occur which takes your party out of commission. Thankfully, the other 3 will join. After more damage is dealt, everyone rises back up and you'll be free to use any abilities instantly (even ones with long cast times like Hurricane). Just keep dealing damage and the rest of the battle will play out in an epic script. After the battle has concluded, prepare for a lengthy revelation and an emotional ride as the ending along with the character medley in the credits plays out. Congratulations on getting 100% in LIVE A LIVE!
United in Defiance of Hate Defeat the Sin of Odio after befriending all potential allies in the Dominion of Hate chapter. LIVE A LIVE Unlock all achievements.

Thanks for the hassle- and spoiler-free guide, though I wish to make one correction. In the Caveman Game, the caveman is asking for less or more, not for a divisible number.

When he points to the three, he wants the stack that has less men in it. When he points to the five, he wants the stack with more.

Thanks for the guide! There is a Showa Goldfish Launcher in the Trial of Keys that is missing from the checklist. And a second Holy Water in the Trial of Skill.
