Icarus 1.9/2.0

Beskrivelse
The Icarus is a forward/backward compatible Micro-Battleship for Reforged Eden 1.9 & 2.0. Built to withstand a battering from Penetrative ( 2.0 ) or Disruptor fire ( 1.9 ), The Icarus is handsomely armored with a combination of combat steel and Xenosteel to maintain an optimal balance of both armor, maneuverability, and speed. With All-retractable external turret mounts ( up to 22 turrets ), and 14 Manual weapon mounts, which interchange for both 1.9 and 2.0 T2 Manual weapons, the Icarus carries a full stack of your choice of Manual weapons. Carefully Damage tested and explosion-proofed, every external thruster, turret, and manual weapon can be blown off without causing chain reactions, the airframe is extremely explosion-resilient.

The Icarus uses no kits, no special upgrade parts, making it simple & easy to spawn in, the ship makes an excellent quantum hunter and will kill Any Legacy ship, including the eradicator, with some dedicated piloting. The ship can be re-equipped for larger shield fights and will absolutely take on a Tovera dreadnought with the right Kit, as a non-quantum ( I recommend a combination of Heavy Laser, EMPs, and Manual Artillery or Plasma/missile Turrets ).

This is the fastest ship I've made since the Lightning II, it is disgustingly quick and agile, built for the more-demanding 2.0 Configuration, in 1.9 this ship is faster than your fastest SV, and an absolute joy to fly. You have extra CPU space for upgrades to your war and detector, and it can even fit in a couple of mining lasers or multi turret.

The Icarus is a model of perfect efficiency and thoughtful armoring. I am truly proud of this ship, enjoy!

( to evaluate / test this design in 2.0, only the CPU units and weapons need to be replaced with their 2.0 counterparts )

Daedra I would probably mount 3 mining lasers on top of the ships prow if I was looking for the most practical place, just remove any Decorative items on there. A Mining turret is also a good option and would be less likely to be blown off the ship, I would mount it on one of the shoulders and just tip my nose down a bit before going into the P menu.

Updated 4/28/23 to add 1 x 170k Harvest controller. This Harvest controller is not armored, so keep your valuables in the Hardened-Steel-armored Ammunition controllers.

Where would you put mining lasers btw? I see you said it was possible. I found that putting them in the empty spaces on the "wings" was too far down and away from centerline. I suppose I could just use a drill turret or something.

I'll put a harvest controller in it today. The LCDs project a lot of the exterior decoration.

I love basically everything about this ship! Just a couple questions:

For adding a harvest controller and a multi-turret for salvaging/mining, where would you recommend I place the internal components? There's lots of empty space inside, but did you have anywhere specific in mind?

I noticed that there are a lot of LCD panels on the ship. What do these do exactly? I can't really figure out their purpose, but if they do/display something neat I definitely want to be able to see that :)

I was thinking I putting in a fridge or something to keep some food for longer excursions. Thoughts on this? I know you designed the ship as a combat-focused vessel, but some utility always seems necessary to me.

Again, loving it, I love the acceleration and maneuverability, and it just feels super aggressive and awesome to fly. Thanks for sharing!

Love the design! Would it be possible to upload the plasma turret variant you showcased in the video as an optional link? Curious on the setup inside :)
