Terraforming Mars: Sponsorships

Description
Ever since the World Government launched the Martian terraforming project, people have looked up to the sky and dreamed of what will come next. While some corporations strive to carve out the bulk of the Terraforming Committee’s subsidies, the initiative presents opportunities for all sorts of new ideas. Entrepreneurs, idealists and opportunists, individuals and organisations alike; they have something to put on the stage, and the red stage is holding auditions!

These hopefuls offer various sponsorships for anyone willing to help achieve their goals. Those who do so will gain access to unique benefits and rewards.

Sponsorships is a fan-created module for Terraforming Mars that modifies the Milestones system present in the base game. Instead of simply competing for points, being the first to achieve sponsorship goals offers a choice of varied rewards that play into different strategies and help keep up the pace of the game, while also being less punishing for players who get beaten to the top spot.

To play with this module, load the bag into another Terraforming Mars game, put the Sponsorships board over the top of the Milestones, and deal out 6 starting sponsor-chips.

Excellent idea, this module has taken one of my least favourite parts of the game and turned it into one of my most favourite!
I love that these now build into your engine, but aren't so powerful that they feel necessary to grab early. Even the default rewards feel good to grab later in the game, but also don't feel punishing if you miss out on them completely. I'd recommend this to new and advanced players alike!
