No Livestock Trailers ATS Public

Description
NO LIVESTOCK TRAILERS VISIBLE

• What is it?
This Mod hides all livestock trailers within American Truck Simulator.
If you are searching for the same Mod but relative to Euro Truck Simulator 2 instead, click HERE.

• What Dos this Mod do?
Basically, once you activate the Mod, you will no longer see livestock trailers around, either in traffic, either parked at companies scattered around the maps, nor they will be visible within the TRAILER LISTING section.
Also, such trailers will disappear from the COMPANY BROWSER entirely, although the cattle icon will still be visible, but greyed out.

A NOTE ABOUT OWNABLE TRAILERS
As far as I know, there is actually NO WAY to hide livecattle trailers from the ownable list of trailers one can buy, unless we want to get RED ERRORS (that is “bad”!) in LOG entries. You will see such trailers only if you buy them, that is. :)

• What about the priority?
I have always kept this Mod at almost the top of Mod Manager, and with higher priority than every other trailer Mod, although I don’t really think that the priority is even a problem. You have to do some testing by yourself.

• Some history? The purpose? The meaning of all this?
This Mod was created some years ago, while running previous versions of ETS2 and ATS, and since I am vegan (that is, I don’t eat animals, nor any animals’ products, and this is not for any other reasons but for a matter of ethics), it saddened and disturbed me a lot to see these kind of trailers around in the Simulator. So I did the trick by creating this very Mod, and kept it updated ever since.

• Why now and not before?
You might want to know WHY I am publicly sharing this Mod on the Workshop only now and WHY I have kept it for my personal use only during the past years: the short answer is that I’ve decided to do so in light of the new announcement made from SCS a few weeks ago (February 13th, 2023), about “Ownable Livestock Trailers” in version 1.47.x of ETS2 and more recently released (while in ATS they were ownable since many versions before). Having seen that I am not alone with this issue of mine, I wanted to give a hand to others, being them vegans rather than vegetarians (or even simple animal respectful lovers - no offence is clearly intended for those who are not). So, I think the time to share this Mod has finally come.

• Something I must be aware of, upon activation?
Since this Mod changes the AI traffic values, upon every activation and deactivation in the Mod Manager (that is, prior to loading a savegame) when launching the Simulator you will find it updating the traffic data. You should not find yourself parked at your Home Garage, as far as I know, but to be on the safe side... do not activate or deactivate this Mod if you are in the middle of unfinished jobs, as they might be reset!

• Does this Mod have dependencies?
Not that I know of. At least, not anymore. ;)

This Mod is Convoy MP ready! (“mp_mod_optional: true”)

Please, respect the work of others (in this case, mine!), therefore do not upload this Mod elsewhere. It has been created exclusively for Steam Workshop, and it will be kept updated as long as I could.

About this “VEGAN” thing
For those who feel offended, irritated, bothered, hassled, pestered and/or any other synonym possible because of personal negative feelings towards this Mod, and for those who think this Mod being ridiculous, pointless and possibly even dumb, believe me when I say that I understand your thoughts: I was NOT born vegan after all. I became so almost a decade ago.
So it’s up to you to like it - and to use it - rather than not.
Apart from ethics, the point here is only one: freedom of own choices. Animals slaughtered every day in the world for human needs don’t have it. We do.

AN IMPORTANT NOTICE - MAJOR UPDATES
Although I try to keep this Mod updated to my best capabilities, it's only wise that you disabled it at every major release update, that is when SCS decides to release the public version of their simulator after some time of Beta Testing (called Open Beta period, so to speak). As soon as every major release of the simulator is actually released, it's almost assured that the Mod will stop working properly, and that you might encounter issues and problems of some kind. To avoid that, I simply recommend that you entrirely DISABLE this Mod as soon as the simulator receives a major release, and keep it disabled for the time being. Normally I need a few days to update it, and basically I communicate the process and results here.

Enjoy, happy trucking and, possibly… go veg! ;)

Mod updated to be compatible with the latest version of Simulator v1.54. Tested personally, everything seems to be working fine.
Thank you for using it.
Enjoy!

Mod updated to v 1.5.4 of the Simulator . Just waiting for SCS to release their updated Workshop Uploader (I ignore how to upload a MOD for ETS2/ATS on Steam Workshop without it) which as always should be available as long as they will update ETS2 as well.
Thanks.
Cheers

• IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT v1.54 UPDATE • - Part 2

So, in a nutshell, proceed as follows:
with the Sim running (and this faulty MOD loaded and running), open the Console and enter the above command (copy and paste)
- Exit the Sim
- DISABLE this MOD
- Launch the Sim again, and the problem should be fixed.

I will update the MOD as soon as possible.

I apologize for this inconvenient.

Thank you all.

Cheers,

• IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT v1.54 UPDATE • - Part 1

The Simulator has been updated to v1.54 today (March, 28/29th, 2025), and as I always am afraid of, this MOD is actually not working in its actual state; while by itself it is basically not giving (almost) any error and users can actually load their previous saved game, they might discover that there is no trailer listed within the TRAILER LISTING section of the simulator. Furthermore, the worst part is that the job offers might disappear wherever the user is in fact parked, rendering the whole purpose of the game (therefore the game itself) completely useless. To correct this issue, you not just have to disable the MOD within the MOD Manager, but also, open the Console and type the following line:

uset g_force_economy_reset 1
