How to create a high quality custom spray! (TF2 Edition)

In this guide I am going to show you how to make a awesome high quality custom spray.

Disclaimer

In Team Fortress 2 you can only use custom sprays in custom servers and if you use NSFW sprays you may get banned from some servers that don't allow it.

If you use a spray on an official valve server only you will be able to see the spray

Make sure you have "Disable Sprays" box unchecked in advanced options

Get your image and website ready

Your image can be a gif or a still image.

I'm going to be using twerking heavy as an example

Remember to set a filename if you are planning to have alot of custom sprays!!
If you change the filenames of the VTF and VMT after already installing them, make sure you open the VMT in notepad and change the $basetexture line to the correct new filename of the VTF

Upload the image and click "Save as VTF" and "Save as VMT"

Importing into the game

paste your VTF and VMT into this folder
steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\materials\vgui\logos

When you open up TF2, go to your setting and click on multiplayer, and click import spray, find your spray in the directory shown above.

If all went well you should have a preview image (if yours is animated it wont show the animation until you're in game)

Testing in game

go to your console and type "map itemtest" (or any map of your choice really)

when you load in, you can press your spray keybind which by default it is T I believe.

(Pretend the example image is animated)

give yourself a pat on the back
