LBSCR E2 Class 105

Descripción
Designed by L. B. Billinton (1882-1954), and built at Brighton Works (1840-1962) these locomotives were commonly used for shunting and short freight service (due to their coal bunkers) in the London area and on the south coast, they were built between June 1913 and October 1916, this locomotive is LBSC 105, a LB&SCR E2 Class 2nd series. In the year 1914 2 E2 classes were tried with push-pull trains, with 6 coaches, but this was abandoned during the same year as they had inefficient coal capacity. During the electrification of the Brighton line in 1936, the E2 Class would be used as replacements for the former LCDR T Class (1879-1951). During WWII (1939-1945) the E2 class would replace the SR Z (1929-1962), in 1946 a 2nd series E2 class would be used for the basis of Reverend Wilbert Awdry's(1911-1997) character Thomas the Tank Engine. In the 1950s they would be trailed as shunters at Southampton Docks, and were found to be suitable for the task, with 6 examples retained for shunting, until in 1962, where they were replaced by British Rail Class 07 Diesel shunters, (1962-1977, 7 preserved). Between 1961 and 1963, they were all scrapped.
There was a delay, and that was with the 2nd series, due to WWI (1914-1918).
