Description
Hello! Welcome to the Great Music Box, a world where you can easily try out music resource packs or simply listen to Terraria's tunes!

Here, every music box is placed following the game's internal order, so it's more convenient for you when making or downloading resource packs!
Note: track 50 (Journey's Beginning with intro) still has to be tested from the main menu when launching the game as it doesn't have a box.

Version: Intended for 1.4.4 and above.
World type: Small, Crimson, Drunk seed. Mostly empty besides the main build as TEdit was used to remove the terrain.
Mode: Journey (see link below for Classic).
Classic version: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2982462249

This world is intended to be played with a Journey character so you can easily listen to the ambient rain and wind and adjust any settings you like. But if it's preferable for you, a Classic version is also available above or in this pack: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C2lM6tm2nYEr0qejn9eSfxNGLt0O0ezN/view?usp=sharing
The Classic version is recommended if you want to take the free music boxes in the many chests!
The bundle also contains some TEdit schematics to add the Great Music Box (or parts of it) into your own worlds, and another Journey version that isn't a Drunk world.

Here are some handy features:
-Otherworldly sounds have been clearly separated from the others through a distinct visual style so you know immediately which tracks are the Otherworld ones or not.
-If you haven't unlocked the Terraria Otherworld soundtrack toggle, you can talk to the Party Girl in this map to obtain it in every world.

-You can find plenty of useful signs, teleporters and other objects in this place, including chests containing all the music boxes in case you need some "free" ones for your worlds or to quickly research them in Journey Mode! Empty music boxes are found in the barrel at the right edge of the map.
-You can find extra sections near the ceiling which feature the boxes in a different order (type, time, layer, biome purity).

New versions will be made when Terraria gets more music in 1.4.5 as confirmed, so make sure to suggest any improvement that could be made for the Great(er) Music Box!
This is my first public map and so I hope I didn't overlook anything! Tell me if anything is wrong.

I made this as I thought it could be tedious to make or test music packs without a quick in-game test, so I hope it will be a useful tool!
Have a fantastic day, Terrarians! :)

Thanks a lot, I'm glad it can be useful!
I was really surprised to find nothing when searching music preview maps while I was working on my first music packs... And so I decided to make one myself!

I'll make sure to give it a big update and some improvements for 1.4.5 as it's confirmed to have at least 10 new tracks as of now!
As a bonus, I'll probably make Expert/Master versions with many unique changes too.

I'm surprised by the lack of map like these but I'm definitely thankful you filled that niche, and with high quality too

Terraria will get 5 new tracks or more as recently confirmed!

Guess I'll have to make some changes to the box once that happens! :masterworks:

As you wish, but it’ll have to be a separate release on the Workshop then.
Making it non-Journey mode would break some of the map’s intended features as it allows you to listen to the rain and wind ambient tracks.
I’ve already released a Classic variation as an extra on Google Drive, but I guess releasing it here too wouldn’t hurt. I’ll see what I can do once I have enough time…

In the meanwhile, you can check the link in the description here if you don’t want to wait.
Then all you need to do is to move the Classic version of the map found inside the zip (in "Worlds") to your worlds folder.
The path should be "C:\Users\[your name]\Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds".

Can you please make this non journey-mode
