Max Red Tip

These are the main focus of the guide and easily the most sought-after of all the patterns. The goal of these patterns is to contain the max amount of red on the tip of the knife without the pattern turning orange at the tip. This means that there will be patterns not included in this category that technically contain more of the red pattern at the tip - but are unfortunately ruined (and discounted by collectors) by the pattern fade continuing into an orange color at the very tip.

These are the aforementioned orange-tipped patterns that are considered “fake red-tips” by most collectors. These can still be sought-after patterns to the right collector – as they actually contain slightly more red near the tip (usually) than the true “Red Tips.”

The orange at the tip of these patterns is actually very minimal and the trouble with categorizing these patterns is that, it can be very difficult to figure out exactly what is acceptable as a “true” Red Tip and what is considered a “fake” one because of how close some of the patterns are to both sides.
