This guide is designed as a basic walk through to the game Contraband Police...

By the end of the guide you will be a fully trained operative of the border post in Karikata, on the Acaristan Border. It does not cover every single aspect of the game or the secrets and missions. But highlights key aspects to ensure your career as a border patrol officer goes smoothly as possible

Secondary it allows reference pictures related to each chapter to be accessed via the steam overlay

Chapter 1: Training
As you request documents from each driver

the very next move will also be to open your
folder so take a look at the driver as you
take their passport

Check
  • Beard/Moustache, and Hair
  • Style/Colour,
  • Hats and Glasses

and once the folder is open if its not correct mark it on the inspection sheet.



Certain things are easier when auto checked.

The Expiration Date:

You can reserve some of your awareness bar by manually checking anything on the inspection sheet. The more things you manually check, the less requirement for a home upgrade

Smuggler Clues:

On the notice board you have information on smugglers. Sometimes you might only have the suspects age as a clue. So you can use the automated function to check this.

If you check all the smuggler clues first you can avoid going over the entire inspection checklist because smugglers will ultimately end up arrested so...



A full document check is not required.




















At the end of each round you can press [F1]
to view a evaluation report

Transportation:
Manually transferring "criminals and contraband" at the end of each day is free of charge,

  • Funds stay updated.
  • Allows you to call at the store daily for ammo/supplies
  • Reduces need for cell/warehouse upgrades



Whilst driving around you can use the siren on the main highway to force traffic to pull over making it much easier to get around. Likewise pressing the [V~Key] when parking changes the camera

Cargo:



[C~Key] = Clipboard

Using this you can unload and count the
actual cargo onboard.

Once done accessing your folder and clicking on the sheet of paper located
in the pockets

you can quickly compare documents.




Trading



Sometimes drivers like to trade resources, at the expense of inventory/warehouse slots you can engage in trading activity with these drivers.

Each driver buys and sells certain types of goods...

you can purchase something from one customer, and make a profit with another,
its completely optional !!

Chapter 2: Fake Help
Restrictions are placed on any person(s) travelling from the Kingdom of Erkei

from taking ANY type of goods across the border. So during passport checks if they are travelling from this location with any type of cargo.

Tick the box under "Entry Regulations" in the inspection report






Upgrades

At this stage you also unlock the upgrade feature, Accessed by the computer terminal:
you can also double check your maintenance cost here, before ending the day



Services



As you get promoted you can use the phone to access services. for a fee you can have the AI transport your contraband and prisoners as well as have Vlad store on your doorstep

Border Attacks:

Sometimes the outpost will get attacked, Hiring/Upgrading your staff. And using better weapons will make these attacks not just easier and smoother. But can also be very profitable.




Chapter 3: Work For Everyone
In this chapter restrictions are placed on any Artist, Teacher or Journalist's from crossing the border.

All previous restrictions are now lifted...

In your folder you will now see a "Employment Card" if that document links each driver to the above three professions then as before mark it under "Entry Restrictions"







Interventions
Pressing [F2] when prompted allows you to accept/decline Intervention missions, extra non story related missions that are completely optional.












Chapter Progress
As you catch all the smugglers in each chapter, this will determine when the next chapter starts. Each time you progress you will receive a new set of smugglers to catch on the notice board.

At the start of each new chapter its a wise decision to opt for a home upgrade. Maintaining optimal Awareness bar for each new chapters
workload.

Technical Faults
In this chapter you are also required to mark technical faults on each vehicle.

There is also information on how to treat them on the notice board under the Entry Regulations section.


The smugglers clues may also incorporate faults.

Chapter 4: Great Cleanups
In this chapter restrictions are placed on Technical Faults...

All previous restrictions are now lifted...

Any Vehicle with more than three technical faults are not allowed across the border. As usual mark the field entry restrictions.






New Inspection Tasks

We Now have two new tools at our disposal
  • Truck Scale
  • Vehicle Cards


Using the Vehicle card, and cross referencing the listed type with either your duty handbook (and/or) the reference pictures in this guide. Ensure the vehicle type matches up




Truck Scales
Using the Vehicle card, cross reference the display from the scales with the max vehicle weight.

If the displayed figure on the scales is larger than the figure on the card,
mark as a fail...








Vehicle Cards
All that remains now is to check the registration plate with the vehicle card,
ensuring both match...
Chapter 5: Pandemic
All previous restrictions are now lifted...

Anybody not vaccinated against Novid #78 within the past two weeks is not allowed entry.

Use the new vaccination card and the auto checker, and...

As usual mark the Entry Regulations.








Home Upgrade:
At this stage those who like to autocheck as much as possible will notice you are now checking names on four documents and the awareness bar is more vital at this stage.

Having your residence upgraded to the max level becomes more important going forward at this stage in the game.


Daily Costs:
Using the computer terminal in the office, you can check your daily costs:

This will tell you how much money is required each night. Helping avoid bankruptcy. Transfer contraband, Prisoners, or accept optional intervention missions, etc.


you will only get one warning for being in the red, a second violation is game over!!
Chapter 6: Conflict In The South
All previous restrictions are now lifted...

Restrictions now apply to limits on the following goods, from southern countries.
  • 6x Food Products
  • 3x Household Appliances
  • 4x Chemical Products
As usual mark the entry regulations







Category's

After counting the cargo onboard, if you are unsure what category each item belongs too. hover your mouse over the logo in the cargo document in your duty folder...



Then adding up the amount per group allows you to determine...
if the entry restrictions are being met !!
Chapter 7: War
All previous restrictions are now lifted...

During wartime any citizens originating from Al'Barakh with a valid Asylum Claim.
And also a clean inspection sheet is allowed access to Acaristan...

All other reasons must be denied and as normal,
mark issues on the Entry Restrictions..




We are now required to check for forged documents, so using the duty handbook in your folder navigate to the page that corresponds with the drivers country of origin...

Chapter 8: The Attack In Parliament
All previous restrictions are now lifted...

During this chapter terrorists are at work,
reject Acaristan Nationals, Under the age of 30




As normal, mark on the Entry Restrictions..



Conclusion
There are two endings to Contraband Police, During the story missions the choices you make effect which ending you encounter.



Have fun with what you have learnt on your future playthroughs...
Engage in some of the extra missions,

try for perfect inspections, etc
