I'm on Vortex. Don't know NMM. Vortex works pretty well, has done for a decade. So I'm with you there.
About control - yes, I will not update my skyrim anymore and luckily found a way to prevent it from forge- updating via the appmanifest. I'm on 1.6.640 so i miss out on a big fix in the latest Unofficial patch, and I'm angry about it. And sad. I put a lot of work and time into making my games better and keeping it clean. I don't play many, so these matter. It's sad the patch team doesn't stand up to Bethesda. Every few years they force a fleshless update to break thousands of mods, right when the mod community got back on their feet after the one before. Long as the patch team goes along with it, it won't stop.
Anyway, I am making patches for big mods to go with UUFO3P. maybe it is worth a mention?
