How to Disable Mouse Acceleration on MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

Mouse acceleration is turned on by default for a MacBook. This guide introduces a software that disables mouse acceleration on a MacBook.

Introduction

If you google "how to disable mouse acceleration on macbook" a lot of the guides will tell you to open Terminal and enter defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1

This method is BULLSH1T. It does not work at all. Instead, I recommend you to use a software called LinearMouse. This software is totally free to use.

1. Download the software


2. Set Acceleration to 0 in the "Pointer" tab.

Additional tip:
you can also adjust scroll acceleration/speed with this software. If you feel like your scroll is not working well, disable the scroll acceleration and increase the scroll speed.
