Leírás
This is a small religion pack to represent a number of religions practiced by Californian Indians.

Kuksu: The secret dancing societies in northern California from the Pomo to the Ohlone.
Datura Cult: Groups connecting to the spiritual world through the use of a hallucenigen in southern California and northwest Mexico.
Waashat: The most prominant religion of a revitalization movement in the Pacific Northwest reaching into the very north of California.
Dreaming: Those living along the lower Colorado River got all their power from dreams.
World Renewal: The religion of the northwest along the Klamath River.
Bole Maru: A Ghost Dance variation from the Pomo which spread across northern California.

I have added mod compatibility for all mods that I know of that likely fall within the areas of these religions. This includes Mohave, Kumeyaay, Payomkawichum, Tongva (Sas), Tongva (Clap), Chumash, Yokuts, Pomo, Modoc, Chinook, Coast Salish, and the Ohlone. The Miwok also have compatibility though it's included from the Miwok side not this mod's side of things.

NEW UPDATE: WORLD RENEWAL AND BOLE MARU ADDED. Currently World Renewal doesn't have any associated civs with them (but who knows maybe I'll get around to the Yurok or Kurok before Civ VII) and Bole Maru is set as a secondary choice for Pomo and Modoc assuming their first choices get taken (though I made this update in part because I'm finishing up Shasta and I'm putting them with Bole Maru).

Also very majorly I updated the the mod's references because I realized that's why sometimes a civ wouldn't pick one of my religions, so any issues with that should now be fixed and the associated civs will pick their religions correctly.

@thesaurusrex It took way too long, but I finally got around to adding World Renewal (and Bole Maru since I needed something to better represent the Shasta)

@squidy Tbh I didn't realize they couldn't when I set that up, though there may be a way to from city state great people gifts (or other civ unit gifts) and of course mods like IGE. Though even if I did realize I would still add them because coverage/completeness sake.

I absolutely love this mod, and saw that it is compatible with the payomkawichum mod, I’m not sure on this but I think they can’t even found a religion, if they can I would appreciate it if someone could let me know how, thanks.

@Almalexia, I am very bad at getting myself to do stuff cause mental health so my progress is very slow ;-; Hoping once finals are over I can get myself to get the last little bit done. Your excitement is very appreciated!

Thank you so much for this mod! I cannot wait for the Ohlone to come out and round out most of California :D

Delighted to see this mod released. I know a tremendous amount of work went into its completion, and it adds good flavor to the game.

Also while I did look at a number of Kroeber stuff when looking into religions (though I tried to not have him be my only source for things), I hadn't seen stuff about World Renewal. One chart of his had "New Year Religion" (which it seems he later changed to calling World Renewal) which I couldn't really find anything on (in part cause of lunar new year dominating google results) so it seems I just missed that one. Though it seems it was only followed by four tribes, none of which are civ mods. So if I happen to get my mind to function enough to do all the things needed to add another religion and update images and stuff, or if one of those four tribes gets a civ made of them, or if I rack myself with enough guilt for missing something like that, then I'll update the mod for it.

@thesaurusrex Yeah the map is probably off but I only really needed it for a cover image, and I put Datura Cult as the religion of choice for Luiseno mod (Sas' Payomkawichum) so even though I may have misjudged the map borders the mod is correctly covered.

The Luiseño also participated in Toloache ("Datura Cult") beliefs, so maybe the datura blob could be a bit further south. Also, if you're grouping California religions by Kroeber's classifications, you could use World Renewal in the northwest California area. This is a creative idea!
