Hello everyone! I'm Rathner and I will be delivering to you this guide. This guide will be a constant work in progress and will try to cover as much as possible. Whether you're new to the game or have been playing a while, this guide should have new information to you.

Here are a few useful links to help get you started in Reign of Guilds.
Website link: https://reignofguilds.com/en/
Discord link: https://discord.gg/H8wXubjesv
Forum link: https://reignofguilds.com/forum/index.php
Community tools https://rogdoll.com

The website has a glossary and an about page for some mechanics. Not all mechanics in the about page are implemented. But I strongly recommend reading both while traveling to different locations. There is a lot of things explained there that are helpful for understanding the game and its current and planned depth.

Rogdoll has a character doll builder, map with locations of NPCs. Maps of the underground areas and more. Along with a exp table. Developed by drond_ on discord.

If you have any suggestions, additional information, corrections or requests for this guide. Please message me on discord. Rathner is my username.

New player quick tips
You probably open this guide after being confused at the start. Well that's okay. Because here are some tips and tricks to get you started without making too many mistakes.
You can not return to tutorial once you leave.
Your inventory has a max weight, and so does your backpack. Items in your backpack contribute to your maxweight and once your backpack maxweight is full, you need to use your inventory to hold heavier items.
The max amount of quests you can have is 25
Grab every non-fetch quest in town, some are on the edge along the roads. There are many fetch quests available.
Killing chickens lowers karma, rats raise it. Killing any hostile mob will raise it.
Items that have the empty triangle with a cross behind it mean that you need to meet its level requirement. So an item with 5/5 requirement means you Physical and Magical need to be level 5 to equip it.
Buy food and eat it, note that eating the same food reduces restored hunger based on Overfullness (Example -20% for 10 minutes)
The fastest and safest way to level physical skills is a crossbow and buying tabulas rosa (Respec scrolls) from the vendor next to portal. On the mainland you will be able to find a vendor that converts accuracy experience to earth for leveling magic.
Every non-boss enemy has an attack pattern which can be dodged.
Apply a Healing over time effect and buffs before going into combat, this makes a HUGE difference.
Items require attributes to be leveled to use, same with powders.
The cauldron to craft powders is found outside next to the warlocks.
Certain areas containing bosses and caves are PvP zones. Expect and be prepared for PvP there. Some PvP areas are less contested than others.
Skeletons at the northern castle have the chance to drop T3 gear which is better than most items on the starter island.
To leave the island, talk to the NPC and turn in 50k silver, 3 ancient coins, and have level 10 in both magical and physical.
It's recommended to leave the island with as much money as you can if you're new to the game.

Air: Casting air spells on yourself or others.
Water: Casting water spells on yourself or others.
Fire: Casting fire spells on yourself or others.

Recommended training methods
Buff yourself with healing and mana overtime and take hits from stickmen. Heal yourself at the same time. You want to make sure the spell can fully heal. A partial heal from a near full health bar won't give the same experience.
When training magic, stand on top of a rock and using mana over time buff, damage a named monster. Cast regenerate mana if you run out. You will need healing also as regenerate mana drains health.
When training melee skills, you can hit multiple enemies at once using special attacks of some weapons to increase experience gains. You can even get a friend or two to heal you if they need to level endurance.
Whatever method is the fastest for your build, you can use Tabula Rosa scrolls to move around points as long as its in physical into physical or magical into magical.

Take note that apprentice spells don't show their requirement. However you can guess what they do by their names. If you're unsure, the apprentice version correlate to the same spells the warlock sells.
Combat
Melee Combat
All enemies have predictable attack patterns that can be exploited to be effective in melee. Blocking with a shield is a safe and new player friendly way to fight enemies. It's recommended that you buff yourself with a heal over time effect and defensive/melee buffs before engaging in melee. Dodge by pressing a direction key and spacebar with your weapon out. You can dodge during a cooldown. More experienced players can bait a enemies attack by running at them and quickly turning away, this strategy allows for effective usage of twohanded weapons once mastered.

Magic Combat
Before engaging in magic combat it's recommended you buff yourself with a mana overtime effect. You can charge a spell by holding right click allowing it to be more effective. Charging is highly recommended for buffs and less so for offensive spells as potential DPS will be higher for most situations. When your hands open all the way, you also get a higher damage bonus. Some spells have health and/or mana as a resource instead of mana. Hovering over a spell shows its stats, pay attention to these as spells can be situational.

Ranged Combat
Crossbows are great for leveling up, PvE and sometimes PvP. I highly recommend everyone carries a crossbow for pulling enemies one at a time.
Enemy types
Stickman: Swings once then enters a defensive mode reducing damage and damaging you if you get close.
Boar: Attacks twice and then runs away and rushes.
Bear: Attacks rapidly until half health. Has a roar which stops you from using items for a short time, disarming you and freezing your stamina where it currently is.
Wolf: Runs at you and jump attacks. Also When approaching low health the wolf will run a distance away and howl. Possibly causing more wolfs to aggro onto you.
Skeleton: Found at the castle. Attack as range as he has a stun at close range. Attacks one, two or three times in a row. Weak against blunt, other damage is nearly pointless. Has a self heal over time.
Spider: Has a slow and a poison stopping regeneration of stats. You can dodge backwards right before they attack. Circle strafing is possible but very difficult
Medina: Floats above the ground. Moves side to side before casting a slow or fast moving projectile. Stops moving after casting spell. Casts a AoE slow if you get to close. Use a crossbow to kill.
Miner: Runs fast. Dodge its swings. Has a kick that knocks the player back.
Living Fungus: Doesn't do anything until it dies. Releasing a cloud of poison that stops regeneration of stats.
Starting Island Locations
Please refer to Https:/rogdoll.com for a better map than I can provide here.

Special Vendors
Warlock: Extra warlock vendor selling the same spells as in town.
Smugglers: Trade in ancient tokens gained from killing named enemies as part of a quest. Each Kill gives 1-3 tokens. Gives a rather valuable helmet. Also contains two vendors selling anti-magic gear and better quality gear than what the armorsmith sells.

Named Enemies
!!!WARNING!!! Named enemies are dangerous solo. It's recommended you cheese them by standing out of reach or bring a party. They seem to have similar mechanics to normal enemies except have excessively large health pools and can 1-2 hit a player without the right armor and buffs. Its recommended to have dedicated rolls when attempting as a party. Players should have leveled endurance and purchased heavy armor for best results.
Stickman: Same mechanics as a normal stickman. Has a group of stickmen minions around it. The minions must be killed for the named stickman to die.
Boar: Same mechanics as normal boar. Attack twice then run away and rush.
Bear: !!!IMPORTANT!!! Location has moved south of it past the road along the river. Same mechanics as normal bear. Attack rapidly until half health. Then interrupted by damage. Note: Bears have a roar which removes your currently equipped item.
Wolf: Same as a regular wolf just stronger.
Troll: Found inside a cave. Has normal attacks, an AoE that drains health and freezes stamina regen, and a roar which pulls you towards him and stuns you.
Miner Foreman: Has a AoE which steals your health to regenerate his. Attack has a good range. Attacks faster than skeletons but you can dodge it. Refer to rogdoll for a map of the mines.

Tavern: Found west of town this tavern has a quest for boar tusks and deer antlers. You're able to buy a room containing a personal chest for 5,000 silver. Also has a food vendor. Note that you can not return to the tutorial island to use the rooms.

Castle: !!!WARNING!!! this area has PvP enabled. Has a teleportation pad and training dummies. Also has a skeleton boss.

Teleportation gates: There is one in town and one at the castle. To use these you must have a token bought from the traveler in town. These teleport you to the location when double clicked. They can also be stored inside the token storage box. There is no return portal from farm or lumber camp.
Questing
You have a max amount amount of quests you can have before you cannot accept anymore.
I recommend grabbing all the kill quests and turning in the fetch quests as needed. Be sure to search around town and complete quests because there are a few chain quests available. Quest locations will be marked with a yellow marker on your map.

Requirements for quests increase as more people complete them. Some quests on mainland and one on tutorial get rolled randomly every (Hours Unknown) to become active or inactive.

My recommendation is to pick a quest that is easy and is not being competed for. Each quest rewards decent silver.
Making Money Starting Zone
Making money in reign of guilds is best done by completing fetch and kill quests from NPCs. The best ways are ones that are not in zones where you are competing for resources. Quests to kill animals are generally safer as you can find low level ones closer to town. There are also spiders and skeletons which drops sellables that make good money. Bringing hides to the hunter quests is also very fast.
Important NPCs
Room Manager: Allows you to purchase keys to rooms at inns. There are three keys you can purchase each one unlocking a room. Each tier comes with one extra chest for storage. For a total of six chests for storage. On the tutorial, you can only purchase tier 1 rooms at two different inns.

Innkeeper: Purchase Food

Storage Keeper: Stores items, can be accessed from any other Storage Keeper.

Banker: Used for the creation of guilds. Costs 50000 silver for guild creation.

Portal Master: Sells teleportation token, storage items and attribute reset scrolls. Also sells Crafting pots for making spells on the go.

Warlock: Sells spells.

Priest: Trade silver for Karma.
Karma
Karma is the system that controls how much loot drops on death.
1. Karma cost for killing target.
2. Experience loss (from gained pool), %
3. Non-involved inventory space, amount (Highlighted in green box)
4. Drop chance from other boxes in %
5. Drop share from stack in box in %
6. Drop chance from the doll in %
1 2 3 4 5 6
Saint -500 0 10 0 0 0 0
Virtuous -250 10 5 10 (5-10) 0 0
Good -150 20 4 15 (10-20) 0 0
Neutral -50 30 3 20 (15-30) 0 0
Bad 0 40 2 25 (20-40) 0 0
Ugly 0 50 1 30 (30-60) 0 0
Psycho 0 100 0 100 100 25
Guilds
Guilds are created at the guild manager. It costs 100,000 silver to create a guild. The max amount of members a level one guild can have is ten. You can upgrade the guild to get more slots. Guilds do not server a function until castle upkeep and taxes are properly implemented.
Death
Dying causes you to dropped items based on your Karma system. Refer to the karma section above. On death your will drop any items outlined in red. (They will also say dropped on death.) You lose some stats too. Your levels and experience to the next stat point do not go down on death. So you might die and lose an endurance point. If that causes you to not be able to equip armor anymore, even though you have it equipped, it will no longer give any stats.

Dying teleports you to different areas depending on your karma. The lower your karma, the further from city you spawn.
Welcome to the mainland
Welcome to the mainland, if you're here. I recommend heading to Harbur as its the most populated and easiest to navigate town for new players. Isgollyne is also a great choice as it has more special vendors, but the town is much larger and a bit overwhelming for new players.

Each town has a unemployment coach which teaches skills for money or mob drops.
There are guards, hunters, butchers which offer quests to kill enemies, get hides and get meat respectively. In Harbur you can also find a NPC in the fields which offers a extra quest to kill boars, there is usually a unique kill quest or two in every town/village. You can complete multiple kill quests at once for more effective grinding.

Here is a quick rundown of every city. I will be updating this as time goes.

Harbur, Small but condensed town with everything a new player needs. Easily the most populated. There are a few good spots nearby for killing enemies. Stickmen near the church and animals to the east.

Isgollyne, Large town. Has kill quests for more difficult enemies available. Enchanter and weaponsmith trainers are there and a hidden skill trainer in the main area. There is also a Tier 2 vendor nearby the out portal and a T3 vendor on the other side. Near the portal outside there is also a vendor selling skills which convert one type of experience to another. Along with a vendor to a few castles. A tier 3 magic vendor. Some other various useful traders too.

Daerkunn, Daerkunn has various unique quests, the gladiator and inquisitor trainer. It is home to the Daerkunn arena. The Daerkunn arena has a ranking and PvP system.

Oregrad, Standard village, nothing unique. Has a thief trainer there.

Reniche, Standard village, nothing unique

Buddre, Standard village, nothing unique.

Camlasse, Similar to Isgollyne in available vendors and traders, a bit smaller in size.

Anthernolle, Large town with similar quests and vendors to Isgollyne.

Dyrivoy Stand village, nothing unique.
Teleportation gates
Teleportation require going to a blue portal or a red portal and using a token.
Tokens are earned in two ways. Purchasing at a token vendor near a portal. Some beginner quests reward tokens also.
Rogdoll has teleportation gates mapped to make finding the closest one easier.

Blue teleportation gate mechanics: Blue teleportation gates are found at every town. They will bring you to any area within your continent. Continents are marked by rivers on your map. You can not use a blue gate when you are carrying raw resources such as hides, ore and gems

Red teleportation gate mechanics: Also known at continental gates. Red teleportation gates are found in smaller towns. These are used to travel to another continent. You can not use a blue gate when you are carrying raw resources such as hides, ore and gems.
Vocations
Universal (max. level 60.60):
Assassin; Stealth when moving but no attacking
Barbarian; Long range melee attack ability, Roar that disarms and freezes stamina, dmg buff.
Blacksmith; Craft armor, Has an AoE that drains stamina
Thief. Stealth while sprinting, but has attacking
With an emphasis on physical development (max. level 60.15):
Crusader; Teleport with a stun and a 30% cooldown reduction ability
Gladiator; Ability that makes all hits legshots
Hunter; Doubleshot for multiple shots each, quickreload for faster crossbow speed
Master of steel; Defensive ability for a lot of defense in trade for loss of good mobility. Has a AoE
2h swing.
Weaponsmith. Just a crafter.
With an emphasis on magical development (max. level 15.60):
Archmage; Levitation/flying
Druid; Has a party heal and a short range teleport that brings party members to you
Enchanter; Just a crafter.
Inquisitor; Has an AoE cleanse. Also some single target cleanses.
Necromancer. Has a AoE ability that damages enemies.

After reaching the 16th level, the player may join any of them. It is possible to quit a school any school and join a new one by purchasing a vocation reset scroll. Note that changing vocations from a physical focus to a magical focus and vice-versa lowers the stats

Some vocation teachers can teach passive skills that can be used on certain vocations. For example some classes can use taunts, while others can't. Some skills require you to actively has that vocation. You can level up your vocation by completing quests which give larger stat bonuses.
Resource Processing
To process resources visit the appropriate processing station.
Resources can be recycled (processed,) Split which breaks down resources into their smaller components and merge which combines smaller stacks. Different resources nodes provide more or less resources and different types.

Ore: Can be processed at the smelter. Note that ore dust can be processed into bars once 100 of it is obtained. Its recommended to keep two small bags in your inventory to hold the dust so it doesn't clog your inventory when processing. Have enough slots for resources otherwise the items might be lost. You can visit the alloy smelter and combine processed ores to create alloys.

Wood: Processed at the Carpenter. Can be further processed at the Wood Treater for silver.

Pelts: Can be processed at the Leather Worker. Can be further processed at the Leather Tanner for silver

Fabrics: Can be processed at the Weaver. Can be further processed at the Fabric Weaver using plant materials and money.

Brewer: Processes raw Barley into Malt for money. Used in several quests.

Miller: Processes wheat into flour. Can not merge or split. Used for quests.
Crafting
https://reignofguilds.com/en/news/chapter-8-game-items-1/ Note that the website incorrect references the names of the qualities. They are Heroic, Ordinary and Mediocre.

There are three crafting classes. They are Blacksmith, Weaponsmith and Enchanter. They can only craft in their respective field.

In order to do any of the three, you will need recipes. Recipes come in different tiers and different quality. You must refine ore and planks into the requires materials at NPCs. For enchanting, you require seals. You must find an alchemist NPC in villages and turn in various mob drops and other rare items to get these seals. You will also require various flowers to make concentrates. Enchanting is easily the most resource intensive crafting profession.

Keep in mind recipes have durability and can't be used infinitely. You can repair armor using tools which can be crafted. Bosses will drop better recipes. Recipes must be in your main inventory to be used.

More difficult recipes require crafting points. You can increase the points available to you by using a higher tier crafting table, using tools, higher level crafting abilities and

There are some other mechanics with crafting which require more in depth testing, but expect more not long after EA release.

Massive updates to the guide have been made. Still a lot more to add but stuff might change during EA. Expect updates throughout the early days of EA.
