Consorts Give Monarch Power

In 1 collection by Worlds Smuggest Detective

Description
In this mod, consorts now provide a bonus to Monarchy and Tribal governments, granting additional monarch power based on their stats, making 0/0/0 rulers potentially less useless and giving consorts more of a role in gameplay.

This mod compares monarch power between the ruler and their consort and chooses the highest value of the two when generating monthly monarch power.

For example, a 0/1/5 ruler with a 3/5/2 consort would generate 3 ADM, 5 DIP and 5 MIL a month based on their ruler and consort stats.
So, an awful ruler or heir is not completely hopeless as long as they have a capable consort they can rely on in the future.

This functions like the consort system in Imperator: Rome, in which the best stats shared between the ruler and the consort are used.

(This mod should be fully compatible with every other mod, including overhaul mods.)

I'm getting the same issue where an increase in ruler stat isn't removing the old modifier.

Yearly checks don't seem to be working in my game, after the year changes I still have two country modifiers for the consort bonus that are both adding mana. Caused by monarch gaining mana power. So it did correctly add a new modifier for the correct adjustment, it just didn't delete the old one

I have just published an update that adds additional checks to remove the modifiers on ruler death, new ruler, new consort, consort death, etc., so hopefully that helps with any issues

@greenie thank you for letting me know. There is no specific way to check for a gain in monarch power for an individual ruler, but I can try making it so the game checks yearly and removes any excess modifiers from my mod.

Hey Mr. Mod Author, still having a bit of an issue as was discussed in this thread last. From what me and a friend could tell, it may occur when your monarch mana changes, say a ruler going from 3/3/3 to 4/3/3, it would reapply the consort bonus accordingly, yet not remove the last one. Hope that helps!

It could still be an issue with my mod, I just haven't had the chance to replicate it yet. Also, just to note the issue will still appear for existing savegames, so to have the fix it would need to be a new game. Thank you very much for letting me know.

I have updated the mod so it removes the consort modifiers under more conditions, so hopefully it resolves the issue

Thanks, I appreciate it.
