This is my balance mod for multiplayer games


I started this mod by building off the back of The Conquest of Elysium 5 Total Overhaul mod by Commisar Jon ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I’ve been adding on to this mod so long that it has become my own version rather than the simple numbers tweak I originally intended.
Conquest of Elysium 5 Total Overhall is required, make sure that both mods are enabled.

I typically play team versus and one vs one, so the mod is aimed at balancing those kinds of matches. I usually take an approach of trying to buff weak factions more than nerfing strong factions, so the power level of all factions will be higher than you might be used to.

This pastebin document is pretty outdated but does contain rough notes on changes I’ve made. I’ll try and write a more comprehensive document on the various changes in the near future (fingers crossed).

General:

Many numbers have been tweaked, to many to list (or remember), classes with many changes will have it mentioned in their section (If and when I write those).

Economic rituals, aka rituals that create/alter terrain for increased income, have had their maximum number of casts capped (usually 10) to prevent infinite economic scaling. But also, often with reduced casting costs.

All classes should be able to get their strategies started earlier in the game to shorten the preparation/monster clearing period. The various classes will still find their power spikes at distinct stages of the game.

I have tried to give the classes alternative options in terms of progression paths (aka optional ways to level, alternative army compositions, and side grades) and to make underutilized aspects of the classes more competitively viable.

All classes (except markgraf) *should* be competitive with each other.

Kobold King, Dryad Queen, Baron, Senator, Dwarf Queen, and Druid have had major facelifts. Warlock received a total rework. High Cultist, Witch, and Demonologist are less vulnerable to death by bad rng. The other classes have many small touches that I cannot easily summarize.

I try and keep the change notes here on steam accurate for new updates so read those every so often.

How odd. I was using no other mods: simply starting as warlock had the elemental selector with fate loom and animate statues.

Court mage does not have access to his own rituals: instead he has the pacts of the elemental selector for warlock. Elemental selector for warlock has court mage rituals.

@Sisstra Instead of editing the stats of the unit I used the wrong function and created a new unit with the same name. Units without sprites default to the baron.

As you asked, I picked enchanter and created iron golem in iron mine. He had baron sprite.

Hmm i play only with Muh Balance enabled and the requirment you listed: Complete Overhaul.
I was playing Baron and saw neutral Iron Golem in neutral Iron Mine, he looked like Baron. Weird xd
If I will encounter him again I'll tell more details.
